me and wife spending a minimum of 25k on Gas alone. 32km on and off to our Business a day make hard to save some of our earning.. now i saw BYD sealion 6 is the 1st on my list. WE OWN trailblazer 2013 good for cargo but we can adjust on BYD . alternative drive. maybe 1x a week on TB.
I've been dreaming about owning a car lately. I've been spending a lot of time reading reviews to plan for a possible car purchase next year or sooner. I've become particularly interested in the BYD brand and their car models. Some people may dislike Chinese car manufacturing, but I find this brand intriguing. With a price tag of 1.6 million, this car is certainly competitive and would make critics reconsider their views.
Do your due diligence throughly. Upfront price is deceiving, cost of ownership is another thing...pms cost, reliability that's with you as long as you own the car. I still don't trust the brand tbh...
Yeah. its really tempting but maybe best to wait for 2 to 3 years before finally judging the car. Another major factor is I think, if you buy cars like these, you have to consider owning it for a lifetime na. Because for sure, its mileage is gonna be very high and it would be very very difficult to sell after several years.
I keep hearing "sellability" after x years. Idk man. Are people really considering this everytime they buy a car. Wouldn't you have enough money by then to buy another car
Is my understanding on the engine correct? Is this like the Nissan E-Power where the battery powers the wheels and the gas engine is like a generator? Of course with the option to charge the battery through plug in?
From what I read it’s both. On high speed/rapid acceleration, the engine may directly drive the car. Not as a generator. However during this some of the engine power can also be used to charge the battery at the same time.
@robertdatario85 if you check the gas cap it actually says 93 octane but we don't have that in the Philippines so closest is 95. It uses a direct injection Atkinson cycle engine.
GWM units are far superior in powertrain and drivetrain. It comes with no surprise since GWM is bigger and much more experienced. They are also a leader in engine tech and development in China. DM-i and CVT on this sea lion are the two turn offs for me. I would choose the JOLION HEV over this because the Jolion uses true hybrid technology and a DHT(dedicated hybrid transmission). True hybrid beats fake hybrids all day anyday. because both the ICE and the Electric motor can combine to power the wheels. thats why it's far more efficient than say a nissan kicks or a sea lion 6 or any car with DM-i tech basically.. where the gasoline engine is just basically there to act as a generator and have no contribution to running the wheels of the car. which also means the HP and toque produced by that gasoline engine is useless and cannot combine with the electric motor to produce more power to the wheels. more power uphill = more efficient. more power to weight ratio = more efficient.
My camry hybrid can go 1000 km in one full tank. What I noticed is, the longer you drive the better mileage and fuel efficient it gets. On a city driving, it range bet 800 to 850 km range. That's quite awesome for a midsize sedan.
Does it lean EVs are bad ? Except if you don't care about security of the others and yourself and replace your car seat by a toilet seat, you need to stop at least 15 minutes every 2-3 hours. Which is more and more the reality with EVs.
Chinese tech is soon to be standard... by the way drone, wala pa naka pag compete sa kanila DJI brand it is a Chinese...in terms of train nasa kanila ang pinaka fastest at longest train station.. in terms of many innovation na sa kanila na, stuck na tau at yung west.
Time to throw my plans for toyota. BYD here we go!!!!!
hope to buy one someday

Didnt know this tech existed. Glad thay didnt kill off Hybrid tech specially for countries like us that is way behind even sa Gas infrastructures
im waiting mine hehehe...
What fuel octane level does the Sealion need? Also, does the engine charge the battery when on HEV?
95 octane and up. And yes, the engine charges the battery as well it has regenerative breaking that also charges the blade battery.
@@mikepimentel4728 Your source that says 95 octane rating? Do you know if this is a port or direct injection engine or a combination of both?
95 RON

BYD第五代DM PHEV 满油满电续航2100㎞以上,63L油箱,开空调,正常行驶。❤
What was the trip average speed. Depends a lot abt that. Anyone driving 60 to 70 km can get better mileage but that's not the real average.
Price should be cheaper to be competitive enough against Japan reliable brands
No EV can ever do this!
The BYD Seal 06 can do 2100km. Not sure if it will arrive in PH market.
