Looks great could you show inside the boxes. Can you blow the tube up with the air compressor? Only 17 psi from these pumps I think. Would also like to see it in action. Thank you

What u could do is use 12v tire inflator. Even the kind you plug into a cigarette lighter. Some of them are quite compact these days. You could even wire it into the system and have an onboard self inflating rig.... just a thought.

Good one. What size tube, type size charger, battery or batteries.
I have large battery was not thinking of putting this in a tire tube. 100ah lip04 in a battery box. Thank you

@@redwood1957 im using a 12v deep cycle marine battery. Any 12v charger would work or solar. Youll see that particular air pump consumes little battery power. Its pretty efficient.
The tube is a 44" snow tube. An easy find on ebay or Amazon.

Thanks for the video. Can you please reply with the inline filter model you use and how do you interface between the second stage regulator hose and the off the shelf air compressor hose. Thank you in advance.

I purchased a two piece inline filter on ebay from a company called "gator gill". It included a 10 micron and a 20 micron filter but i used only the less stringent of the two.
I connected 25 ft of hose straight to the air pump, then my filter, then my regulator. They are connected using barbed hose couplings.
Never had any problem with it. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I hope that answers your question....

neat video! How deep have you been diving with this? Think you could get 4-6 hours of shallow diving on one 12V battery?

    • @CrackerJackson101
      @CrackerJackson101  Месяц назад +1

Oh yea!! No problem!! Ive got 25ft of hose plus 3 ft of hose on the regulator but i never need to go that deep. A 12v deep cycle marine battery goes, and goes, and goes....

I live in florida and have been thinking about a rig like you have made for metal detecting,(I get knocked around too much wading in chest high water) but I will be using it just off the beach in no more than 10ft or so, do you think I could use a smaller compressor and battery? The reason I'm asking is because of the weight to carry down to the beach.. Thanks ...by the way could you possible make a parts list of what you have ..thanks again ...J.C.

The pump im using has an out put of 160 litre per minute and i wouldnt want any less. Any pump capable of that or more would do what you need it to.
Youre correct about the battery, its very heavy to carry any distance but on the up side i used it all this season and didnt really have to put a charge on it.
      44" snow tube
      Aluminum base plate
      Battery box
      .50 cal ammo can
      2 cooling fans

Air pump 160 lpm (ebay, boyu air pump model ACQ-910)
      25 ft of air hose
      Regulator

@@CrackerJackson101 Thanks for your reply, I really like this for calm waters, but the more I look at this, I'm not sure it will work for my situation.. I will be in the surf and the waves will be knocking this around alot and I think everything will have to be watertight. I could put a watertight box in the tube with a snorkel out the top to take in air but my concern would be the heat buildup in the box with the compressor and battery, any ideas? Thanks again J.C.

@vet4truth725 ive often wondered how it would do in those conditions and i think youre on the right track with the snorkel idea....
If confined in a small space the air pump definately needs something to keep it from getting too hot.
I considered putting a type a splash guard over the fans but i found it wasnt needed in fresh water.
A snorkel or splash guard would work but youll still need the fans i feel.
Commercially made units ive seen often use snorkels.
I have ideas but explaining them accurately in the comments section would be difficult.
Let me say ive enjoyed using mine very much.
It never gives me any problems and i can dive for as long as i want without worrying about an air supply.
Let me know what kind of creative problem solving you come up with.
The whole purpose of this video was in hope to inspire others to take on a hookah build and see for themselves how enjoyable it is.
Let me know what you come up with and thank you for your inquiry!!!

Im running a 12v deep cycle marine battery that i bought in May. Currently the battery level is in the high 80% range and ive never charged it. I typically go diving about once a week for about 2 hours give or take. I can now see that i will get through this diving season without having to put any charge on the battery.
