Nice work, the only thing i didn't like about the slingshot is the attachment method. There is so many better ways to attach rubber to a slingshot frame. easiest way would be to wrap some more rubber tight on the fork tips.
I was able to do this with a jig saw, a hand drill and a section of 3/8" plywood by using two pieces glued together for the grip and then the sides which I steam-formed and then glued to each side of the handle. After that I went to the Big Five and bought a replacement set of rubber tubing and the pouch for five bucks. But, still at first glance this did give me the idea of what I thought would be a quick and simple build - talk about making a mountain from a mole hill, and this will get the Academy Award for that catagory. Interesting project though, given the dedication you put into building your sling-shot and thank you for sharing.
Nice classic simple design, forks may be a bit tall by today's standards and glue was not the way to go to attach the rubber but at least it looks nice.
The slingshot frame is very nice, but that method of attaching it to the slingshot's head will easily come off and fly into the shooter's eyes, which is dangerous.

Reminds me of a highway tractor pulling a little red wagon. You can purchase a sling shot [with a wrist brace] for less than $5. And, still have all of your fingers and have $1,500 still in the bank account. -

I'll admit it was a nice looking slingshot but why glue on the bands? all that work and too build in such a simple point of failure? Oh, a d he does not need to worry about losing a finger because they are still young and invulnerable. give them a few years to learn just how much mistakes at that age REALLY hurt. Things I did at 18 are just starting to catch up with me. ouch!

Don't pay attention to all the nonsense remarks, you did a good job and if you have the power tools why not use them I know I would and so would a lot of other people and when you work on a project it's your project and you can take all the time you want you don't have to answer to anyone.
I'm sorry, a sling shot is the kind you sling round and around your head and then release one end throwing the projectile the way you intend, as did Samson at Golitath.
Now I need to get a $10,000 dollars machine to make a $10 dollars slingshot.
