Ha yea honestly for me he is a fantastic player who creates a lot of chances even though he misses a few chances here and there I think he is a fantastic all rounded striker

I won't tell anymore about his position or how can he play.v.v. I just want to say that I like Giroud since the day he started to play for Arsenal. Eventhough sometimes he missed and made me felt... hahah.. I love the way he tries his best to play, the joy that he showed everytime he or his teamate scored,... I think he know that he is not as good as what they expect from him, but he is getting better and still play with all his heart. I really love and adore him.
Ditto. It's good to know that fans like us are still amongst the Gooners. Giroud is a good player but a great person. His selflessness and expression of joy when his team mates score are what I most love him for. He is a great guy.

About time someone showed Giroud some appreciation, he holds the ball up very well for the team and wins most headers. We just need a quick player to play off him and his quality's will show, we've seen how well he's worked with Theo and Rambo imagine him with a fast striker as well!
he need a player to play with. When we played big games and Ramsey wasnt there, Giroud always stucks alone between defenders, it isnt his fault. Sad
I hate how people hate giroud. Yes, he isn't the natural goalscorer we lost in RVP, but look at how beast he is! physique of a gallic warrior, amazing team player, making other people (except özil, apparently, whos missing out on assists) better. With Ramsey, Walcott, Özil and Podolski with him in the attack, he's a great player, binding up atleast one, often two players making it easier for others to score. An extremely underrated player in my opinion

I understand all the people saying that Giroud is bad, that he hasn't his spot in the team of Arsenal, but he's such a great player. Sure he isn't the best striker, he's often awkward, but he has a lot of skills, he has a wonderful head game and he struggles for the team. Giroud is like a man of the shadow, he "only" scored 16 goals last season but ... what a season !!

He is not a suarez or aguero type of strikers..he cant score 30+ goals in the season..we cant expect from him things he can not do like passing through 3 players and firing it into the top corner!!..the best thing is to get the best out of him in the things he is good at, he is a good header and he can hold on to the ball really good and support his teammates with good passes..arsenal's best two goals of the season (wilshire and rosicky) were assisted by him!!
Cavani or balotelli playing next to him would be just perfect!
Extremely underrated striker deserves more respect
I like him when he just came,eventhough he missed a lot of chances in his first few games..however,in his second season,when he wasted a lot of chances against all the big teams,I really started to hate him. Anyway,i think he is a class player that should stay,but get another striker to play alongside with him.
I think the problem is, that we see (we think) him as a already class striker, but he just came from Mont. and he has to adapt to new style from Arsenal. We cant just compare him to RVP or Henry yet. What we can do, is look how he has improved his skill since he came to Arsenal and I think, that he is getting much better. I really want to see this guy play for France at WC2014. //sorry about my bad english
I'm agree that he is really getting better and better,his vision,his link up of play is really good,but his performances against the big teams were really disappointing. However he did proved that he can do even more on the field when Sanogo was played alongside with him with 4-4-2. He is never Henry type of player, because he is not a scoring machine, but he can be our bergkamp.
have to agree with ffgou. although he's a striker,scoring goals was never his strength. compared to other top class strikers, his finishing is really quite pathetic, but his positioning and link-up plays are a joy to watch. always in the right place at the right time to make that set up for other players to score.

I think there was a lot of pressure on him too as he was pretty much the only striker we had... too many injuries this season! Wenger is going to spend BIG this season

BasedGooner he is a striker, if he can't score clear cut chances he shouldn't be our main striker and right now i honestly can't see him developing into a striker who would score 30-35 goals next season.
You know what? Well done to the Arsenal media team. Sure Giroud misses some sitters but this video really highlights all the great things he brings to the team. After watching the way he hustles and takes kicks, I'm surprised we didn't lose him to injury for most of the season. I definitely want him to stay (with the support of a new striker)... and it's not like his goal record isn't impressive.

He is such a quality striker! He can hold the ball up, he can finish, he can pass, win headers in the air and overall he is a top class player! He will be amazing next season :)
He's absolute beast in this video, I know his form was up and down for these past seasons, so much hate for him from arsenal fans, but I know he will come back better next season, he'll score important goals and make important assists. Mark my words!
Even if we just buy Remy in the striking department this summer, a 4-4-2 formation with Remy playing off Giroud could be devastating, his hold-up play, flicks and crosses are top top class:) He also has a very powerful shot, but he never seems to shoot from distance, as it's not accurate enough i guess
you know, i don't give giroud enough credit. he's got amazing work rate, great one touch, pretty good finishing and not to mention he loves the club. this man gives it his all every game. he's earned my respect. not the next henry, but there's something to be said for oliver giroud.
great work :) .. when you watch this video it look like giroud is better than benzema or cavani :p.. but overall i think he is important for our team play just he need another striker to help him and we have seen what hapened when sanogo came on in the final
having a man like Giroud, i would love to see 4-4-2 formation. He is the perfect man for the secondary striker position. He is there whenever you need him, he can hold the ball waiting for teammate, he can sync well in 1-2 passing. Also, great ariel ability.

I think considering the fact that he has had to play almost every single game for us for 2 seasons now being practically our only striker he's done exceptionally well to handle the load on his own. Yes his finishing could be better, but his first touch + hold up play + link up play are excellent.
Seeing him and Remy link up so well for France proves that we need to switch our formation to 4-4-2, he would perform so much better with a supporting striker than by himself!
Here's to Arsene signing another striker!

I love giroud and i dont like when sanogo is starting..yes giroud miss a lot but he has an ability to assist unlike other striker..he can score,he can assist..he has strong body in front and tall ..hes heading accuracy is feared by all defenders..hes a dangerous threat in high balls duel.he has freat left foot where he can flick assist
yes give him more time, to get used to ozil passing, his unselfish and strong.. it take many years for henry & RVP to be world class.
his job is to hold up the ball and link up with midfielders around him. arsenal is team that is built on having a special midfield core so we need players like giroud to bring our midfield into the game.
also considering hes a target man his ratio of goals assists chance created are pretty good. people say that hes not a world class player like benzema flacao van persie etc but i think hes just as good as them (im talking about this season). he just has a different style of play. when he first came. he was just above average target man but his game has evolved so much. i think last season was the defining moment for his arsenal career as he learned to use his head more which made him more effective. all he missed was clinical finishing. this season hes improved that massively but i still think he needs to work really hard on finishing. even though hes improved its still a weak point in his game.

Top and world class player. Linked-up, strong, good vision, not pacey but great mentally. We did win something with him. If walcott plays in 4-4-2 with him as pacey striker.. Lets God tell Wenger this is the time.. He is so underrated as arsenal player. If we lost him dont you think maybe you just want lord bendtner type? Just cheering him as arsenal player. He put badge in front of him.. If you dont remember the names.. Its all yours to keep.
Giroud is a brilliant player, at what he does he is one of the best in the game, he holds up the ball brings others into play and does score goals, for his size he has a good touch and decent feet. He needs another striker up with him for us to get the best out of him with more confidence he will start sticking away these chances he gets. He also needs to start scaring defenders they aren't scared to play against him, he needs more aggression in his game, more of a bite, same goes for a lot of our players, Ozil and co, you don't win tittles being polite on a football pitch.

Arsenal fan here: Giroud is not worldclass his nowhere near it , he misses alot , and hes always shit against the big teams always! i see people judge özil, but where are the runs from giroud so he can put the ball forward to , giroud aint that kind of player, he slows the game down and can be so horrible at times... he should be our backup strikers because he only delivers against the small teams .. we need a worldclass striker to be able to compte against the best team in the world... imagine mourinho having giroud in chelsea can you even imagine that.. can you even imagine him starting giroud in the starting 11... not 100 year he wouldnt have done it

Stop hating on Giroud. He was brought in by Wenger to replace Robin Van persie and he has done his job pretty well. He has scored so many crucial goals. Being a fake fan, You can never realise his place in the squad.
Giroud's hold up play is good, he was good when we had walcott but faded away without walcott .4 or 5 more goals per season will do it and I am confident that he can do that this season
Ajay Rajan since when did we start to rate hold up play so much? Can you not see you have lowered your standards? There are plenty strikers who can do hold up play AND MORE. Giroud doesn't even have good hold up play anyway, he gives the ball away consistently and always tries stupid flicks that rarely comes off.

Giroud is great player. Not an out and out striker but his ball control is second to none. There aren't many players in the league with a touch better than giroud imo

The club is yet to sign another striker and at the moment don`t see anyone else in the squad that will play his position better, if your about mention alexis hes effective on the flanks. Someone made a comment about ozil or any of the other great mid fielders in the squad to say they have no one to pass to. Giroud up front with pace on the flanks you will see a different Arsenal. The final passes will be made to the wingers more than anyone else. Seems like we forgot how it was with ozil and thoe linking up! think about this.. giroud up front thoe and alexis on the flanks ozil in the middle enough said just look how giroud`s presence!!! brings these players into the game.

I really like Giroud. He works incredibly hard. He does miss a lot, and he scores a few too, but what gets it for me is the amount of work and determination he puts into his game. Even with all you Gooner w*nk stains harassing the man every second.

Amazing first touch!
He has terrific ball control, dribbling and aggression. If he could run faster, I believe his strength will make him an indomitable winger. His crosses, vision and selflessness are his best traits. However, if you watch games on the telly it feels like you dont feel like he's going to score albeit big chances. I hope Alexis can restore his stamina next season and form a great attacking partnership.

I think he is a very powerful striker who is decisive in a high intensity game. He may get frustrated when the game is slow. He may click better in Real Madrid style game.
Giroud - Sandstorm
To be effective, Giroud needs runners from midfield/wings. That's why he was effective in the 1st 6 months of this season. Unfortunately, he tired while Ramsey/Walcott got injured. That's when the fan base became wary of him. Hope we sign a quicker striker in order to rotate according to the nature of the opponents/injuries.
I think he is a great player...hard working, links up plays well, strong, skillful. Just needs to polish his finishing... or play another striker alongside him... Got to give him more credits, people...
