My favorite memory about her is when she was at an award show and some comedian heckled her mom in a disrespectful manner and you could see the hurt and disappointment on her face, then Steve Harvey, who hosted,came out and said “ a man you don’t dis our queen, the legend herself Ms. Diana Ross, it was like the entire audience was thinking the same thing, I know I was! They stood up in honor of her mom gave her a standing ovation,she looked so honored. That foolish comedian referred to her mom as some type of drunkard or something don’t ask me his name.... don’t know, didn’t see him much after that. He didn’t even apologize But yea, love love love!her humor!! Going to miss Blackish and Ms. Ross is Ms. Ross.love love love her!

She’s a genuine star now. Her future as an actress is secure since being one of the leads of a long running ABC hit show really established her and put her firmly on the map (much more so than Girlfriends), and everyone knows who she is. Love the fact that as far as I know she’s really never used the fact that her mother is Diana Ross to get ahead (not that she’d ever need to, as she is quite a powerhouse talent in her own right, but still). I actually don’t ever recall her mentioning it in anything I’ve seen her in until this interview.
Anyway, I think Tracee’s great and I wish her nothing but the best in whatever future project(s) she chooses.

I saw this wonderful woman on stage dressed in the most beautiful black and white sequence dress at the African-American black film festival in Miami Beach, Ritz-Carlton Hotel some years ago. I wore a Beautiful Pink on Pink Flowered traditional outfit! I wanted to meet Ms. Tracee but at the moment I was engaged in conversation with Mr. Bill Dukes director of BlackGirls, I miss her exiting the door! Thinking I missed my opportunity to meet this woman I admired on television. Sad I was, walking in the rain, then into the Ice Cream Polar, next to the hotel. I began to order my $5.00 a scoop of Ice cream spending $15.00, I was so sad! Slowly, I looked to my left and I see this woman frantically looking in all directions. Then she looked in through the window smiling, she opened the door with this HUGE smile on her face! I could not really see who it was so I waited until she got closer. GUESS WHO IT WAS? ---- Ms. Tracee Ellis! She walked over to me and whispered in my ear, asking me "Did you want to take a picture with me?" ---- I jumped for joy saying "YES, how did you know?" So, I grabbed my camera and engaged in taking a photo with this beautiful Woman! It was the most exciting time for me that day! My friends asked me -- "Do you know her? I replied nope!" "But, she felt my energy when I glanced at her earlier in the hotel. "She knew I wanted to take a photo with her!" ----- Ms. Tracee I know you are a busy woman and If you read this I want to say Thank You, thank you for being the MOST DOWN TO EARTH WOMAN I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN SHOW BIZ --- Jameelah - Miami Florida 3-7-2022
