Quick tip: At 17:55, instead of fiddling with automation clips everytime, you can right click on the time bar, drag and select the portion of the beat where you want the automation to come in, now it's highlighted in Red, so when you create automation clip, it will only appear at that portion you highlighted :D
Awesome vid! Couple of quick tips for anyone trying to speed it up a little, when you want to cut away the edges using the 'C' tool, right click and drag instead of left click and it automatically deletes the excess clip. To rename mixer channels quicker press the scroll wheel whilst you hover the mouse over the track to pull up the rename faster. You can also save the mixer channel templates/presets so it's quick to load. When you make automation clips, right click and drag your cursor along the top bar of the playlist for the section of the playlist that you want the automation on, so that it’s highlighted red, then when you make the automation clip it will be the right size to fit your selection. Great content Karra and Reid, no idea how you learn and master it all so quickly. I hope FL find ways to speed up the vocal process in the future so it's more efficient and less lethargic coz it let's FL down a bit despite being really awesome all round for production.
Great tutorial! I wish I was as organized as you in my sessions but alas :) Also if anyone is having trouble with latency issues, go into your FL audio settings and reduce your buffer size while recording > increase it when mixing! More plugins can cause more latency, especially if you have a powerful autotune/digital compressor.
Guide to pro sound vocals: Have an amazing singing voice that's instantly good and on pitch after a single take. Use any mic, and any interface, with any effects.
i was about to say something like that. but it would be like "Have an amazing singing voice that's instantly good and on pitch after a single take + one of the best vocal mics in the world in the c800 = great vocal takes"
I came from Samplitude Pro, then Sequoia, then Cubase and then finally to Ableton Live. If Ableton would just implement a proper mixer panel then they would have the ULTIMATE DAW imo. The creative workflow, organization and just depth of Ableton makes other DAWS feel lifeless, cold and unappealing to me.
I went from fl studio to ableton then back to fl studio. I'm using both right now but there are some features in fl studio that I like more and I feel more comfortable to work with. That said ableton inspires me in a way that fl studio doesn't most of the times.
