Thanks for doing these videos. I wish more people would take word usage seriously since it is how to communicate clearly. You are a goldmine of information.
I'm learnig english. Thanks a lot for your explain. Honesty. I dont understand all you say. But I have more clear how to use trouble and problem. Thankssss
Thank you, Alex, for the good work done here, and thorough explanation with examples. Now, could I ask to advise me what one should call those verbs that have almost the same meaning, and the same pronunciation, like: check/control, imply/infer? I know that they are synonyms, but still they`re a bit far from being called synonyms.

She was *troubled* by a lingering presentiment that her slight in response to his mother's officious questions would sure mar their relationship. She had been in *trouble* all her life and frankly an ephemeral break from loneliness was all she had hoped for anyway. But of all the *troubles* she'd had to deal with, her resignation to living in the street for two years when her mortgage defaulted had topped the cake. The eviction and forclosure had happened so fast that her worst fears became her only problem: homelessness. Suddenly, all else seemed so trivial. What was presented as an economic *issue* , in between Fukuyama's admission to a fuck-up on a grand scale and Krugman's and Stiglitz's "I told you so"s or how liberal market economy was by definition doomed to tank based on Keynesian economists' independent analyses, had materialized into an irrefutably tangible, incorrigible *problem* . A predicament that she had to overcome on her own. She couldn't help wishing she was one of them. Someone who got paid to create problems for others to solve. And yet all of it was in fact a non-issue. It was a non-issue the way 2+2 made 4. It was only expected . She was so nonchalant, though, when her "treehugging" friend was ranting and raving: Someone had to step in at some point to say math *problems* required mathematical solutions rather than presumptuous perspectives that were oblivious to all science. One couldn't agree to disagree in regards to scientific phenomena. It was time for some to get on their knees and apologize, and turn in what they stole... Now, she was hugging trees herself, for all the wrong reasons.

Doesn't it come across a bit posh or old-fashioned to pronounce it as 'iss-you' instead of 'isshoo'?
