    Something that may or may not be accurate for the mind badge:
    In Japanese, the word 心 (kokoro) can be, and often is, translated as "heart," but can also mean "spirit" or "mind," and kokoro in totality really just boils down to meaning one's core or essence of self.

    Psychic as a type is so busy. Its everything from cosmic type, light type, intellect, mythicalness, magic, emotional, supernatural, spiritual, etc. It overlaps immensely with Fairy on terms of how its used, and strangely enough fairy's primary key distinction from psychic is food, and the fact that dark is not effective against it. Its the duality of light and dark, in that dark can snuff light, but light can vanquish dark. In that sense, fairy feels like a subtype, or extension, to psychic. Kinda like how rock and ground are extensions of each other, or ice and water. I kinda want subtyping to be a thing, it'd make things complicated though.

    • @tanandalynch9441
      @tanandalynch9441 Год назад

      Fairy is also super effective against dragon and immune to it, while psychic does and takes normal damage. Also a lot of fairy types are based on fairies or have that typical fairy frilliness going on. Ironically psychic doesn't do much to steel despite the spoon bending thing, and fairy does even less. However there are a lot of dual psychic/fairy types, two of the most popular being Gardevoir and Hatterene, both associated with emotions

    • @tanandalynch9441
      @tanandalynch9441 Год назад

      There's also the fact that fairy is weak to poison and fire resists them, while psychic is strong against poison and is neutral to fire.

    I always thought the Stone Badge was a stone pulled by 2 tectonic plates. Probably more appropriate for the ground type, but does fit with Roxanne's teacher theme.

    Ironically enough Norman in the manga is a jerk to his son Brandon all because Brandon wants to do contests instead of training to become his successor know his kid is strong but doesn't like fighting.

    Had a couple of thoughts on these badges that could be utter nonsense:
    The Dynamo Badge slightly reminds me of electrical symbols drawn for circuits, especially in its shape.
    Every badge having a gem added into it is interesting - the champion (at least in R/S and ORAS) is a collector of rare stones and uses a type associated with minerals; Groudon and Kyogre are linked to gems (Red and Blue orbs); the region is known for it’s meteorites which can contain precious stones and metals!

  • @jaschabull2365

    Milotic may not have the dragon type, but it is part of the dragon breeding group, making it fit the 3 dragon scales as well.
    Also, does the Volcano Badge's top right part look like the silhouette of an eeveelution to anyone else? Or maybe a girl with a ponytail?

    the stone badge of this region seems pretty obvious to me? it evokes two tectonic plates shifting, with one going up, the other going down, much like how tectonic plates in real life do that to make mountains.

  • @krisg4085

    Milotic does work for that dragon theming as it’s an equivalent to gyarados due to both their pre evolutions being a reference to the weak fish who climbed a waterfall and became a dragon…. It’s just more Mild mannered that it’s gen 1 counterpart
