I only want to spend about 5k as we just want to see if it's for us but will that just buy a rotten leaking smelly thing that will put us off forever ?,at this price point what would be the best Van's to look at ,we have 2017 evoque to tow it so it cant be to big as it can only tow 1800kg max ?,I've towed a caravan many times for my elderly parents but never purchased one so any help would be great .

It is a tough price range, and a lot will have damp, but if you can find something that has been regularly serviced then and issues should have been out right. If looking private you can have it inspected by a approved workshop mobile engineer who will check for damp and any other issues. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone I am looking to buy a caravan in the near future for first time either a Swift or a Bailey 4 berth i haven't really decided yet. I live here in Ireland and the current selection here is not that good. Would you recommend that going to the U.K to buy one would be a good idea or is the time not right. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Terry

Its a tough one that, I would have a good look and if prices make sense then possibly yes. I think trying to do as much research first and narrow down your search, possibly looking locally to try and get a good idea of what you want, then go from there. Thanks for commenting 👍

Hi. Just looking a bit if advice please. Looking to buy our first family caravan. There is only myself, my wife and our 6 year old daughter. Would we get away with a 2 birth or would we be better with a 4 berth. Also as caravan novices is there any brands to stay clear of or any that you would recommend. Many thanks. Edward.

Hi Thanks for your comment, I would definitely go for a 4 berth as this will last you longer and you won't need to change as quickly, you will run out of room in a 2 berth on the first day from my experience. Every manufacturer has good and bad caravans, just make sure it's well serviced and have it samp checked. It's just personal preference then. Hope this helps.

@@thecaravanplace thanks very much for your reply. Much appreciated. We will definitely go for a 4 berth then. As you say it will last longer. Better having too much room than not enough. Thanks again.

Hi Thanks for your comment. The Basecamps are pretty good, just make sure it has full service and any warranty is transferable.
