I know this is an old guide but for those who may bump on to this shortbow is a viable build pumping up your p dmg bonus + ppen all together with right amount of haste you can deal tons of damage and continuously spam your skills without having to auto attack since you don't have aspd and crit. It can be used both for pve and pvp it's just a matter on your playstyle, shortbow isn't about just trapping you can build it focusing on other hunters active skills. *cheers and goodluck*

You can roughly calculate your dmg output assuming a 0def enemy and no modifiers by (patk*%ppen*%pdmg bonus) + pdmg bonus example would be having 4k patk, 60%ppen, 20% pdmg bonus and raw 600 pdmg bonus (4000*1.6*1.2)+600 = 8280 this will be your raw dmg output not considering the other factors on your items and skills. Hope this helps you out on your build.

For skill builds, Max your passives, then Buffs, Focused Shot, falcon mastery, steel crow, Sharpshooting. By this point you should already know what type of build you want to go for (max intimidation and charge arrow for non-stop stun, arrow shower + multi firing for aoe, etc.) For PVP, as always, passives and buffs (except for beast bane). for skills, focus on your stuns and damage dealing skills (charge arrow, intimidation, sharpshooting, focused shot). This can be your KO skills to ensure the enemy stays dead. For armor cards, always go for hp cards, either white hp or blue which is best. Acc cards you can use 3x marina sphere in the meantime while waiting for glastheim update (level 90+) which will have 20% crit dmg card. Headgear is full marduk, or 1 orc lord day if you're a whale 🤣 also, 1 drake day weapon card for 100% dmg to large monsters. End game as well, I recommend just buying the tome when it reaches below a certain price, everyday until you get 360. If you're really good at making crystals, should take you around 3-4 weeks

Blue Weapons and Acc maybe is end game for F2P, but not Armor. Blue Armor is useless than Purple Valkyrie set, and Purple Valkyrie set is affordable by F2P.

@@vanlack6899Pump all to VIT, then DEX later. For me, Sanc's heal doesn't scale much with my mediocre INT (no luck on enchants). And use Haste gears such as Book and on haste acces, just aim for -20s cd reduction since most support skills have fixed cooldown anyway. That cooldown is for your higher level Sanctuary.
Just wanna ask other guides says that white equipment fall off late due to stats % and white equips is hard to tier up due to smelting lvl requirement which blue equips dont need im torn between these two arguments
Tier up is not the problem at the late game, You can change the White Weapons every 10 level to solve the tier up problem at the early game, but the stat% is the lowest problem is true.

Falcon Skill multiplier was nerfed badly before it was released on SEA. If you want to continue Shortbow build, use Arrow Rain build & stay strong till Sniper which had a lot of AOE DPS.

What i did in my account was to complete the valkyrie set and then went to craft blue weapon and saved some zennt and crystals to tier up my white accessories.

It was around a month when i completed the set. Early to mid game can be a bit frustrating but keep it up bro, many f2p players can hold their own ground during the late game.

Yes, Fire Dmg is the best for late game. Can PvP/PvE. Pronetra's Dex is only good if you had high refine Blue Acc.

Penetration is Ignore Def, which affects the white number damage. It didn't work on Critical Hit. Yes, penetration can affect the elemental arrow
