    10800 kW or close to 15000 hp. No need for diesel. :D

      Not a big train,think you have to have diesels to pull those 10 kilometres trains or shorter with 600 + loaded wagons like you see in Aus.,Chi.or South Af.,or the power will be totally drained out of the system if try to use several el.power locos.Dont think you will see a 100.000 tonne train like the one from Australa be pulled by 8 elec. locos!

      Big electric locos doesnt help if you dont have the power above your train?Diesel locos have the power on board so to speak,and therefore no limitation of numbers you can use.But this electric loco. is awesome,the more the better,so we can use water/wind/nuclear power.

      @@claesmansson9070Power drain out? Don´t say rubbish.The Tension off the overheadline is 15.000 Volt. The IORE in full power just uses 0.72 Ampere of current, that is nothing, even 10 would need just 7.2 Ampere, little, and that corresponds to 640 loaded wagons. And by the way, the traction motors of the diesel-electric locomotives are electric. It is even worse with the diesel-electric locomotives because the usable power by the electric motors is usually 40% lesser than the power of the diesel engine of the locootive, in other words in a 3000 HP locomotive only 2200 are usable. The electric locomotives don´t have this problem. And don´t even try tho answer with the traction effort, the IORE have the biggest in the world with 700 KN. So please don´t play the stooge.

      @@claesmansson9070 the IOREs pull regularly over 8000 tonnes of trains and can work individually, they just couple them in pairs to deal with grades, snow, rough weather and because each locomotive only has one cab, meanin it would need to be turned for the return trip, otherwise they'll have to run it backwards with no visibility whatsoever. no train has ever reached 10 kilometers in length and there's no need for that, and the pulling power of a locomotive is not measured in length, because in that case a locomotive could pull an 6 kilometer-long train in it was composed of 400 empty wagons measuring 15 meters each, but not a loaded train of the same length.

    which company drives the trailers behind the 2 Black Traxx locomotives ?

    • @Tjita1
      @Tjita1 3 года назад +1

      They are Swedish Rc locomotives, built buy ASEA (part of ABB today, although the train manufacturing part is owned by Bombardier now) and these passanger trains are operated by SJ, formerly known as Statens Järnvägar, now just named by the initials, since they are no longer government controlled.

      It's the company Railcare, which transport iron ore for Kaunis Iron from Svappavaara to Narvik.
