      They are really stubborn. Mine is too. Finally found that putting a treat in front of my dogs face with the command leave it when another dog passes works for him.

    my dog just does it for the treat. he wont listen still after 2 months of sit and lay down 😖.my dog was stubborn since he was born

    Wow, this skin is beautiful. What exact dog food are you feeding them? Mine has problems since birth and never had flawless coat.

    • @benjaminsisk2898
      @benjaminsisk2898  6 лет назад

      LifeISMagix we feed them a lot of raw food - beef, venison, chicken, etc... and all the organ meat - liver, lung, kidney, heart, etc...

      Oh no, trying not to go that route bc we just moved to an area covered in deer lol. we like them so I'm trying to keep his prey drive down! Your videos are great. My dogo is 1 yr 9 mos and he's taking a little thick lately so I'm trying to "fix" it. Where are you guys from?

    @Benjamin Sisk great work...Is dogo breed good for first time dog owner..

    • @benjaminsisk2898
      @benjaminsisk2898  6 лет назад +1

      venkat raghu yes, if the first time dog owner has the time to train the dog. They're active and want to work to please the alpha. The breed could be a nightmare for an owner thar doesn't want to or can't invest the time and effort into the dog. For my wife and I, we'll always own dogos

    @Benjaminsisk your dogo r beautiful. I've been wanting a dogo for a long time but don't know where to go. Tried searching but good n bad reviews. Want a healthy dogo!!.. Can you help Me? Lol

    • @benjaminsisk2898
      @benjaminsisk2898  6 лет назад

      that rican the breeder I used no longer breeds dogos unfortunately. Their kennels and line of dogos was second to none. There are a handful of breeders in south FL - Miami area but I don't know enough about them to comment either way.
      I'd say, don't worry to much about the mixed reviews and take the time to visit whatever puppy you're interested in before buying it. You'll learn a lot about a breeder and the quality of dogo just by being there in person.

    I see your male is fixed. I've heard many opinions on fixing males and at what age, some say at 1 year, some say @ 6-8 months old, some say not to at all because it would "stunt" their growth. However none of these people have dogos or "giant" breeds. I am not planning on breeding mine, so fixing him is the way I want to go. In your opinion, what would you recommend or what are your thoughts?

    • @benjaminsisk2898
      @benjaminsisk2898  6 лет назад

      Cutting Edge Outdoor Solutions we neutered ours at 11 months. He became aggressive towards other male dogs around 9 months.
      Like you, we heard the differening opinions of the "experts." For us it came down to the size/strength of a dog we couldn't trust with other male dogs. We wanted to wait a full year but it became difficult training him in public. It took about two months after the surgery for him to calm down.

      @@benjaminsisk2898 this is good to hear. I neutered mine not to long ago and was wondering how long after the surgery to see changes. Your input is great 👍

    What do you guys give your Dogos for treats? I've seen and heard people give raw or cooked meat. Not sure which to do. Don't want it to be too costly either.

    • @benjaminsisk2898
      @benjaminsisk2898  6 лет назад +1

      OneAnOnIy raw and cooked, sometimes they get picky. Sometimes we'll order through a raw dog food supplier or go to a butcher and buy the organ meat people don't want. Plus fruits and veggies safe for canine consumption

    we have two girls five months old and my husband is ready to get rid of them. Suga chewed his couch, Chocolate got out of the cage and ran sacked the bthrm. trash. I know it's all about training. He doesn't have the patience and they are home all day alone with the exception of JC our pitbull bully, he's the oldest. But we can't leave them out or the house would be destroyed. I would be heartbroken if he really does get rid of them. What can we do???

    • @benjaminsisk2898
      @benjaminsisk2898  7 лет назад +2

      kalondra turner training is important. Keeping them occupied is important too. Before giving them anything, make sure they earn it and keep em on a schedule. The dogs want to work

    • @benjaminsisk2898
      @benjaminsisk2898  7 лет назад

      kalondra turner I'd recomend, eithet kennel them or take them to a dog sitter. They're very young, so they nee a lot of work and a lot of training.

      leave them out ? do you lock them in a cage or something all day ? why would you get these beautiful dogs if you don't have the time or the patience to care for them properly ?
