I can say that here in the States my friends all seem to dig it. Especially GOAT that one always gets a jaw drop. While I learned to play the entire 3.30 minutes on guitar it took me 6 literal months at 2-3 non stop hours and I’ve been playing for twenty years and am qualified to teach music theory. Tim is only 3 or 4 years younger than me however light years ahead me in playing time. My son was born in 2015 and he’ll grow up listening to Polyphia and AAL and he’s going to pick it up the same way we (30yos) picked up the sweeping of the 80s (Jason Becker, MAB) and ran with it and expanded the modes beyond the two minor/major “basic” shapes. This and sadly only this gives me hope that Guitar will continue to expand and not be tossed aside like some old Lute for Baroque Music. I met him (and the rest of the band) outside of House of Blues before their Houston show last year. They were just chillin/chatting/smoking on the sidewalk outside the venue. I asked him for a picture, and he was really really kind. I thanked him afterwards and wished them all a good set and Tim turned to me and told me that he truly hopes I enjoy the show and thanked me for coming. He's a super cool dude.

Tim seemed genuinely tired so wanted to respect him instead of bombard him despite him probably being my favourite human on the planet. These guys seemed like genuine fans and looked stoked to meet Tim, but it's probably not the first time he was stopped on the street like that.
