@@AngryOldManTTM Hi Ed ! Thanks for taking the time. Hope yer Summer is going Good. It's so funny at the last minute, second really, I had to fix my notes because I spelled his name wrong the first time & repeated the mistake. Meyers. Thats wrong. Its Myers. I edited out of my story talking about the Score Cards that misspelled his name. Saying clerical error, Stat Man in a rush, or lack of respect for a rookie. And then I make the same mistake. Which leads me to believe that's what happened on the internet. I forgotto even look up to see if he had cards until after I posted the Show. It's hard to see cause I do everything on my phone, but I'm pretty sure there is a "t" in his name on his Mother's card. Maybe the index card I saw is a fake. Why fake an obscure minor league player, well he has some Mother's Cookies cards & his name is tied to the Chicago Cubs so scammers will think they can make a buck off cats who collect autographs to go along with their cards. This is why I dont get alot done. I talk too much. Christmas is around the corner .... I used to love to saying that to my Dad. I stopped awhile ago. Thanks for being part of my Family journal. I just saw how you start out with awesome. That was funny, I'm just so used to seeing that word I didn't catch the joke till now. Peace
Hello Tom, i enjoyed to listen the Ritchie Myers story in drinking 'with ) a tea...😀. All my youth and young adult life i dreamed to be a profesionnal athlete...😀. Thanks you Tom for sharing and Happy Telling.
@undraftedplayer Hello Fabien ! Thanks for your time, I know you are still dealing with the Olympics, so you must be busy ! Ha ! Funny, I played all kinds of sports as a kid and never dreamed of being Pro. I guess I knew from a young age that playing sports was going to be just for fun. I have been busy with not much time for my channel or yours. I did see the beautiful view of the river video (twice). I thought I left a message talking about the clouds, but I guess it didnt go thru. Sometimes I leave messages & get no respone only to find out the message was not delivered. My cell phone reception is really bad & it makes it hard to get things done. Oh well, better than no reception at all. C ya Player !
@undraftedplayer I usually get up around 2 or 3 in the morning have coffee, do some writing, then go back to bed before dawn. I sleep too much, & it's never a great sleep. Getting old is no fun. My dad said something similar to me.
Yes. He made it. Even with only one at bat, he did it. Thats the right perspective. I saw your last comment about the school year starting your way. I begin later this week, but the students don’t start until August 22. That seems so early for some places have started already.
@@mathbowler2782 Hey Math in the 70's we started in the middle of September. Poor kids nowadays seems like they get jipped in more ways than one. Thank you for teaching them.
Hey Tom! Like you said just one at bat but more than most who dream about it. Even just walking into a major league clubhouse and seeing your jersey hanging up would be enough for me. Out of curiosity which autograph does your dad like the most? I’m sure there had to be one player that stuck out over the rest. Nice job with his story. I know these aren’t always easy to do when they have only one at bat. They still have interesting lives though.
@Dcollection Hello Andy Thanks so much for taking the time on this beautiful Monday morning ! You know D, I really never get the chance to talk to my Dad about Stuff. It's all about timing at this point in his life. Asking about times gone by is tuff, especially when he has life to deal with. I'm 60 & it sucks. He's 80. I get what it must feel like, every move is not smooth & painless, opening a jar is a chore, so is closing it when your hands are no longer nimble. Long story short, never asked him which is his favorite, (he told me after his encounter with Willie Mays, Brooks Robinson was hus favorite player) good question that I need to ask, at the right time. Ask at wrong time & I'll get a "I Don't Remember" & then I will never ask that question again. Usually the best info from Dad is stuff he walks into the room & just tells me out of the blue. I'm working on a story about Turk Lown & this was the case, same for Chick Pieretti & Willie Mays. It's hard to sit down with him & his autograph book and go thru it, still yet to do that. All about mood & timing. Thanks so much for the compliment. The way I see it, these guys lived such interesting & varied lives that its easy to write a story on them. All I need is a thread from the player, my Brother or my Dad & the Story takes off. Sometimes I think I have a quick & easy story, until I find info like maybe a player who played along side a HOFer & the story will now be 10 minutes. I don't know if me & Ed can keep coming with good stories. I don't want the episodes to be "Cookie cutter" Shows, a guys name, birth place & a bunch of stats that mean different things in different era's. Like I always say, it's all about the intro & outro. There are still so many bigger name players to do Shows on but that's alot of work, because they're big names. It just works out that alot of Shows are on obscure lower level players & I find the struggle & perseverance these players go thru inspiring because that is a main theme on my Family channel. Persevering despite what is going on around you. Thanks for being part if my family journal. Trying to work Lil'Otis into a Show, again, all about timing. C ya !
I like that there is no rhyme or reason. Who needs a reason? This is a good example why I don't like when people call players or their cards, "commons." When you are in the top 1% of any profession, you are not common. Everyone has a story. That is important to remember.
Hello Drew ! Thanks for your time and the great comment on the so-called commons. The term I've been using & is less offensive, obscure. I could say "lesser known" players. But yeah, calling a player common is pretty wrong. I actually enjoy learning about the "lesser known" players & finding who they played with and having it somehow tye into my story & my Dad or Gramps. I look at each Show as a standalone episode for the players Family to watch. That's why it might seem redundant, but I want the "common" person who doesn't understand baseball to enjoy the Show. But yes the Show I put out is pretty hap hazard. I have 4 episodes just about ready, I go back n forth working on a few at a time trying more to focus on the living players. Speaking of not common, I will put out a Show next on World Series winner and 2 time All-Star, 91 year old Bud Daley. Thanks for such thoughtful comments, it's you and a few others who really help out with the Show. It's your guys words that get me thinking about stuff to put into the Show. Talk to ya soon !
Howdy Mike ! Thanks for stopping by & leaving a comment. Funny cause I watched your LL Cards Show last night & didn't leave a comment. You know Mike, I was gonna mention that SS spot occupied by Mr. Banks, but didn't. Sometimes I don't like to put too many names in the episode that might take away the focus on the player I talk about. It would be different if I showed a Card of the player while I talked, but most of the time I just show the view around the cabin for my Dad to see, when he gets around to watching. Better then looking at the autograph the whole episode. I have a Show ready on Turk Lown, Bud Daley & Bobby Del Greco, just waiting to get a visitor to bring up a print out. I've given up writing my stories out by hand. Bummer no more Bay Series. Is it the Sacramento A's, I lost track. C ya Mike !

Awesome video. Super learning about Ritchie T. That is correct. He had one more at bat than I did. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed as always.
