Eh, there's only so much difference from a similar approach to a hip hop mix, it's just double time, and the same goes for just about anything in terms of bpm. In fact, I always personally found it more difficult to work with tempos in the 130-150 range let's say, since the double-time tempos can become quite brisk, and I was never a master of the crab. Now I am by no way discounting this super performance whatsoever, as it's badass and I certainly never quite rose to this same level, however I arguably got pretty darn close with cutting/scratching to be fair. Regardless, very well done. I'd be curious what his live sets sound like this as my guess is that this was highly likely put together to a degree, and not straight up improvisation. I could be dead wrong, but that's my hunch. Again, either way, it's dope and extremely well done!
The drop of Bad company Nine still sends goosebumps since first time I heard Mampi Swift drop it a Hysteria Night in lesta many moons ago. Raved through the greatest period of the drum and bass and underground dance scene. Proud of that
LOL I love how cyclical things are. 10 - 15 years ago you got all the dyed in the wool rock fans saying "DJing isn't real music, electronic music isn't real music", now there's first wave DJ's saying "Wahh it's not on vinyl, it's not legitimate". Really, all that matters is how it sounds.
I hate to admit I'm still one of those first-wavers, I think, and I've always made the argument, just based on personal experience and others' performances accordingly, that you just can't quite achieve the same level of technical manipulation without at least a moving platter. I argue that it's why you don't see as many DMCs using static jogwheels, at minimum, as you I just don't think you have the same level of control over the release and subsequent speed it's released upon without a motorized platter. Now this doesn't mean I have seen plenty of highly-advanced technical work with static jogwheels, but they have been more few and far between. To be fair, I'm not exactly hunting for this content, but again, it's just from my personal experience. Frankly, at this point in game, I could be dead wrong, but so far my opinion seems to hold up. Either way, moving platters aren't a necessity, but they sure seem to be superior, in my eyes, when it comes to highly technical turntablism.
Loved it! There's room for all types of spinning, whether you're a turntablist or a rotary mixer using classic vinyl house DJ there diffetent are skills in all forms! Great that we now have the technology to explore. Just concepting the idea for this set and putting it together is an artform before he throws his extensive turntablist skills into the mix! Wicked video....props to you!!!
Besides creativity and excellent taste i would always admire JFB's precise timings - that's a real DJ. Everybody who's talking shit about his playing not on vinyls - check out his vinyl scratches and mixes.. so STFU.
@@Nokka10 That's control vinyl, not like actual records that you have to go through and pick out. Works basically the same way though, the control vinyl is definitely easier imho
@@dazzlelaacarpentry-dazzlefpv your wrong he cuts vinyl like this I can cut vinyl like this we are turntablists you use stickers and clock mark the vinyl using dvs is no different in skills and you have to move past mixing by ear to do stuff like this, on vinyl you just bpm your vinyl and write the pitch value for chosen bpm the label and clock mark the first beat or whatever and boom you can scratch mix wirh no headphones and your suddenly free to be creative
@@dazzlelaacarpentry-dazzlefpv Clueless. 🤣 Beatmatching is a piece of piss mate, the first thing you learn. What in the fucking fuck so badass!!!!! I ve shat kittens the whole way through this damn thing. Me: screw face ...JFB: Not even a drop of sweat. What the fuckkkkkk am i seeing, it's still happening. Wow.
o0RAGA0o man you got the plan. Thanks for it. Craze a dmc world Champion kicks the dnb szene with his massive tune selection and loops and scratck skills and that live without abelton or a digital vinyl system. But i like JFB he is a great turntabelism and he respects a lot of music styles and he can really handle it. Probs for the dnb Szene. Jump Up Lovers
+Undeadwolfy Here's a few off the top of my head 0:34 Noisia & The Upbeats - Dead Limit 0:59 Sub Focus - Rock It 1:32 Wilkinson - Heartbeat (vocals are from that at least) 3:43 Dimension - Whip Slap 4:05 Mefjus, InsideInfo & The Upbeats - Footpath 4:22 a little homage to The Ganja Kru - Super Sharp Shooter 5:56 Calyx & TeeBee - Where We Go 6:49 Bad Company UK - The Nine 7:57 High Contrast - If We Ever 8:39 Pendulum & Fresh - Tarantula 9:30 Aphrodite - Ready Or Not Also the riff at 1:30 is doing my nut in, can anybody remind me what it is?
Scratching to DnB requires some serious handles

Digital vinyl is definitely legit.
