I love October London and also only give credit where it's due so was skeptical re: the Marvin accolade but I think he has earned them. Not as smooth but I'll just throw out two other Soul artists - Charles Bradley and St Paul and the Broken Bones. Both definitely grittier. But I'll be surpirsed if you are disappointed listening to them

He got that old school flavor, just listening to him take you back in time sounds good it's not like this little records that they sing today.
