Really really nice!! I actually like the shorter bed cabinets. A tad less storage but not a coffin feel while sleeping🤦♀️. Dinette looks tight just sitting down and now I’m preferring the dining bar cause no kiddos. Love your presentations. Always informative. Love the double axle and sealed underbelly. All the extra stuff exterior is so bonus.
Jayco does a very nice job with their RVs and this one is nice . Only critique I can see is shower curtains should be a thing of the past , hard doors keep the shower water in so much better. I’m still 50-50 on slide outs while I do appreciate the extra space they provide there is now more maintenance and possible water leak areas but if you do get a slide you should really get the dinette or couch slide as opposed to the kitchen, an old time RV technician told me years ago, that the kitchen and fridge on a slide There are wiring and plumbing that is constantly moving in and out, and can be a problem down the road where the couch or dinette there is nothing.
I really like the way this looks, nice, bright and roomy, no floor vents too, big plus! Lots of storage for the size of the camper. Don’t really like the curtain with the shower, but I guess it gives you more room to move in the shower, even if it means the curtain sticks to you. Access when closed is pretty good in fairness.
Another great video Josh. Really appreciate what you do to get information out! Really like this floorplan and size. Option/Swap that dinette with a 'bar' style looking out the window... could open it up a bit.
Pros: lightweight, the floor plan, the double axle, the theater seats with full reclining, the counter space, road mode access, bathroom pocket door, light interior Cons: toilet elbow room, flimsy bedroom privacy curtain (upgrade to heavier blackout), different decor color in dinette area, accordion shades (upgrade to roller shade)
I think most of the cons you have would be resolved with one of the many laminated versions of this layout. They're mostly symptoms of this one's lower price point Fair points though!
Any maker who makes this floorpan needs to take note of the Ember 22MLQ, which has the same floorpan. You reviewed it just the other day...the bathroom toilet space..the Ember got the space...they got it right. I thought I liked this floorplan, but the counter space seems to be too little. I have the same area of counter space in my 22rb BUT that space is right next to the stove, so it seems like it's more functional. Thanks Josh for another great review.
Man Josh...that is a great little camper! Between that and the 2024 Surveyor 252RBLE I am torn. I know the Surveyor is a little bigger but man the 225MLS really clicks off most of the things we are looking for and it is a Jayco...you have sold me on them as a manufactuerer... Arrrrg...choices.
I think it was smart for jay flight to mostly move away from them. I can understand the benefit of floor vents in rigs made for more cold camping but otherwise I think customers have more benefit with cabinet ducted heating
Hi Josh! This is a very nice Jayco! You are right about that in most travel trailers they don’t give you a big kitchen. But this one is a great size. Great counter space. Love the back splash. Bathroom is a decent size. The bedroom is good too. Room to walk around. Nice the storage under the bed has struts. Not to bad. Jayco did well with this floor plan. Thank you Josh!
I'm liking this one a lot. I really appreciate that you always show road mode. Thank you for that. My biggest pet peeve, and they all do it, is the window valance right next to the wardrobes. I know it's minor, and I don't have a better solution. I took mine off so I can open the doors all the way.
I think I would install a nautilus shower door. We have open linen storage on our Grand design, and it isn't bad. Anything solid goes in the bottom shelf, and a bath towel holds it when we go doen the road.
Not a fan of a curtain for the bedroom wall, however, this unit has my attention because of its lighter weight and its price point. I wish it had a fireplace and a removable center arm rest in the theatre seating, but again price point and where would the fireplace fit? It wouldn't. The first thing I would do is add USB ports by the bed sides as you mentioned (I wonder why they missed that), as well as add a true queen mattress. Very limited storage in the bed area. Door fronts overhead of the bed might make that feel like more storage without adding more storage. Looks great empty, but setting clothes in the space above the bed would look cluttered without door fronts. The tipping point for me though is the wood construction. I have experienced problems with this in the past so it's probably the main reason I would be gun shy about this unit. Too bad. The light weight, the price and the layout are great! Thank you for making all of these videos! I'm learning a lot!
Keep the oven. Who wants to be stuck at an rv park all the time? It's nice to get away from the parking lots from time to time and still be able to cook.
Some netting across the front storage cabinet would be nice and not very expensive. No out door kitchen (bummer). Change the shower curtain to a slide and no worry about water on the floor. I agree with you NOBODY wants to think about a place for a waste can. Ours resides in the shower simply cause there is no other place for it. Happy to see the fridge placed amidships rather than on the back wall. Takes less of a beating that way.
I cant offer you anything specific as I have no idea what kind of RV you're seeking, how many people you're sleeping, etc But with those capacities you pretty much want to stick to the world of single axles

I own a 2023 jayco 286bhsw. Great trailer, furinishings and build quality in general not just by price point. Nice little trailer that'd I'd totally buy if it was just the wife and I and the fur baby. I think the main fail for me is the tankless water heater.
Love the layout! Just wish they had a bar / desk option with a couple of stools instead of just a dinette. I feel the dinette is a waste of space if you already have recliners. Just my opinion. Love your videos!
I love the Jayco campers. The colors are nice and the cabinets pretty good for cheap camper. for budget camper. It looks pretty good. this camper I’m surprised is an equipped very well. overall, I love these Jaycos thx
Nothing terribly surprising but nice. Like the fixed bed. Just for something to comment about, I wonder if a radius style sliding door to the bathroom, like an opaque version of the radius shower screens, could give a little more space around the toilet when closed but not take too much space from the kitchen/living area when open.
TY for tuning in. Pricing varies potentially by thousands based on shipping distance and options. MFGs also change their pricing regularly If someone watches this a few months from now, then the links I leave in the video description will still get them current and accurate info. Pricing stated in the video may no longer be accurate When it comes to money.. I don't want close. I want correct.
Josh, what are your feelings on the schwintek slide on a larger slide like this. We love the layout, lighter weight, just concerned about this slide failing
I think I would buy a body pillow or something to pull the matteress down and fit it under our pillows. During the day it can be kept on top of the mattress to maintain walk-around space. It would be worth a try, at least.
OOOHHH, might have just become my favorite model. The wife still wanted a booth dinette but I wanted a couch/theater seating/chairs and with this unit you get both in a very open floor plan that is still completely road modeable (maybe a new nerdism...feel free if you like it. LOL!!). With the tray tables you have the option to sit and enjoy a meal or whatever but can still sit across from each other for meals or to play cards or a game if you want and there is room for a couple of guests to eat without being so close to each other. Nothing I really didn't like about this one.
I really love this floorplan. It will be for sure my next RV after the kids will be gone or they won’t follow us anymore. Choosing the brand will be harder cuse avery of them have something different to offer.
I like it, the toe stub slide might be an issue. I have a Wildwood 170ssx so I'm used to the "no arm room for butt napkins" bathroom. I would consider this model as my next one for sure. #RVNerdHerd !
It has EXTREMELY limited inverter prep. There's a loop you can splice into under the driver's side of the bedside stands made for that purpose. It's not well documented what it does sadly
I will always peder floor heating vents and add our buddy Josh has stated floor vents are better at even heating, for me. no floor heating vents should be optional not one size fits all, just my 2 cents
I’m not one who typically likes the siding look on stick and tin campers, however the way the interior looks on this one I may be able to overlook it. Definitely a first camper, but is it a second camper purchased the first time around is unclear. Most definitely a good weekend fishing camper. One to add to the ever growing list of 37 worth considering. Glad to see the ladder. Guess a second spare tire will have to be carried in the bed of the truck as the storage isn’t big enough for one. Would it be considered overkill and a waste of money to upgrade the tires to say a G rated or better tire like all the massive 5th wheels have? After all, wouldn’t that make this a safer unit?
Hey Josh, new subscriber here. Love your videos and I’m sure after doing so many so often you will make some errors. I just wanted to point out that the stats at the beginning of the video are entirely incorrect for the model being displayed. The video shows 5,500 max gross and it’s actually 6,700. And tank sizes are off. Completely different trailer information.
This excited me...until I saw almost no bedroom storage. What happened? I spend most times in a bathing suit, but that's pretty skimpy on storage. Otherwise a winner! Shower curtain ok, I change it often.
Pricing can vary greatly by optional equipment and shipping distance. Eastern/Western/Rocky Mountain Editions + Factory shipping to different stores could swing both sale price and MSRP by thousands Factory costs change regularly as well so pricing in a video can quickly be outdated and make you feel like you were hit with a bait and switch So I leave you links to our site where you can see real pricing any time without needing to call a salesperson. That way you always get current and accurate pricing
As a critically acclaimed songwriter, I think it would be fun to sit across from you and a guitar. You might be pleasantly surprised by what you are capable of 🎶🎵🎶
Good floor plan. Couldn't you just slide the curtain to the other side of the camper? One of the 70s/80s pages I follow asked for rock band names. Thanks to you I threw out Gas Station Murder Hobos. C'mon, you know that would be an awesome name for a metal band.
Weights listed in the video do not match with your narrative nor with the specs shown on the website. Bed size does not agree either, Is it a camp queen or a full queen?
I hate floor grilles....just a huge problem maker. I like how the night table areas on each side of the bed is wide open and not enclosed.....Nice mix of light colors, and sharp contrasts, makes a nice vibe. That said, I think I'd break all my toes on the toe stubber slide.
Wow, how can this have such a large slide and double axels as a stick and tin build then to have a Max weight 55K? Wow. Yes, I was still thinking my Nissan Frontier is rated for 6500K, but that still seems too much for my truck no matter what the weight says 😂❤
I pulled the wrong specs. Apologies. Just corrected the specs in the description and pinned a comment with the info Hitch 580 Empty 5,300 Cargo 1,400 Max 6,700 Length 27' 1" Height 11' 1" Width 8' 0" Ceiling 6' 9" Awning 18' 0" Fresh 52 Gray 39 Black 39 LP 60 Bed Size 60x80"
Tow a smaller RPod with a Frontier a lot, and I wouldn't dream of trying to tow something that big with my Frontier, too wide and too tall, regardless of weight.
I went to hour website and the specs are different. 27'-1", dry weight 5,265, and gvwr 6,700!!. Why is there a 1,200 lb difference?? I was excited to see 5,500 gvwr so we could easily use an SUV. I checked the Jayco site and this video is wrong please take down and repost with correct information
I think weather you prefer floor vent or no floor vent might be somewhat regional being from Texas it's pretty easy to keep it warm inside so no floor vent is my preference we don't need max heat ability lol
Most builders of this layout I've seen have sliding doors. That's likely just a symptom of this being more sensitive to price. Check the "Seeking similar" links in the description for a few other options perhaps
Why do RV builders and dealers knee jerk to have theatre seating? I asked local dealers and their answers uave been this is what we are sent. Josh, is that true? Ive also been told that i have to purchase cuddle compliant seating at my own expense...if that is truly so I'm done and will build an RV that meets my expectations.
Market popularity and.. frankly.. they're probably doing a bit of it because that's what they've always done I continue to push for either removable or fold up/down arm rests when I speak with MFGS I actually was asked to outline stuff I think would make a strong laminated RV for our "GO" series and that was actually one of my hit list items
On paper, I think you are within safe specs but it’s the size of the RV versus the truck that concerns me. I think for a local trips over modest terrain it could be OK. But for any sort of distance, I think you would find the trailer pushing the truck around pretty easy
I kinda wish they’d lose the oven and put the space and $$ into a grown up sized microwave/convection oven combo. I have a question. Are any refers powered with 12v and shore? Are they prohibitively expensive?
Love the the standard ladder, solar, plywood roof, a true queen bed, theater seating and decent TV placement👍but Jayco’s very entry level bathroom with a cheap plastic toilet, shower curtain and Dollar Store 4” fart fan is very disappointing😢

I think if it wasn't a Jay Flight which is more budget focused than most Jaycos you'd see a sliding shower door. Just a guess

It’s shallow which helps but without question that’s my least favorite system out there personally
I love this layout but Is having the electrical for the kitchen in the slide a concern or possible point of failure?
GFI protected thankfully. I'm not really aware of issues

Josh, do you know if they sacrificed quality or cut corners to reduce weight? This seems really light for a sticj]knand tin, thanks
They were just really basic without stuff adding weight
They’ve actually re-done these 8ft wide and gained some weight
So many positives.
Well done Jayco .... except for those darn flimsy pleated blinds.
Give me roller shades or give me death!
Since this is a stick and tin, I would probably be an easy upgrade to install roller shades.
I think I would buy a body pillow or something to pull the matteress down and fit it under our pillows. During the day it can be kept on top of the mattress to maintain walk-around space. It would be worth a try, at least.
It's a true queen. I eyeballed it incorrectly and didn't verify before running my big fat mouth

Unsure on optional seating. Our folks at the local stores can verify
I’m surprised the max weight is so low considering it’s double axle.
The axles seem to be pretty minimal

A bit confused about the bed. All of the specs say it's a true 60x80 true queen bed size but in your video claimed it's a camp queen.
True queen. I eyeballed it wrong
I must’ve grabbed the wrong specs
Ty for pointing this out
With the slide in, it shows that this floor plan wouldn't be hard to make slide free. I'd prefer to save the weight and improve longevity.
I've always wondered about a no-slide model. Bath/Kitchen may need a bit of a rework but I think maybe there's something there
This excited me...until I saw almost no bedroom storage. What happened? I spend most times in a bathing suit, but that's pretty skimpy on storage. Otherwise a winner! Shower curtain ok, I change it often.
Could you mention pricing? At least MSRP?
Pricing can vary greatly by optional equipment and shipping distance. Eastern/Western/Rocky Mountain Editions + Factory shipping to different stores could swing both sale price and MSRP by thousands
Factory costs change regularly as well so pricing in a video can quickly be outdated and make you feel like you were hit with a bait and switch
So I leave you links to our site where you can see real pricing any time without needing to call a salesperson. That way you always get current and accurate pricing
Hey Josh - the text on the screen says dry weight is 4195 GVW is 5500, but your voiceover says 5500/6700. Am I missing something?
No I must’ve pasted the wrong specs into my video 🤦🏻♂️
You put 5500 GVWR in the description.
I think I pulled the wrong specs
As a critically acclaimed songwriter, I think it would be fun to sit across from you and a guitar. You might be pleasantly surprised by what you are capable of 🎶🎵🎶
Sometimes I miss being in a band..
Good floor plan. Couldn't you just slide the curtain to the other side of the camper? One of the 70s/80s pages I follow asked for rock band names. Thanks to you I threw out Gas Station Murder Hobos. C'mon, you know that would be an awesome name for a metal band.
It totally would
G*S*M*H GONNA ROCK YOUR FACE OFF
Weights listed in the video do not match with your narrative nor with the specs shown on the website. Bed size does not agree either, Is it a camp queen or a full queen?
I must’ve grabbed the wrong specs. Sorry about that
Very nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
I hate floor grilles....just a huge problem maker. I like how the night table areas on each side of the bed is wide open and not enclosed.....Nice mix of light colors, and sharp contrasts, makes a nice vibe. That said, I think I'd break all my toes on the toe stubber slide.
Appreciate the perspective and thx for visiting!
Good video Josh
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow, how can this have such a large slide and double axels as a stick and tin build then to have a Max weight 55K? Wow. Yes, I was still thinking my Nissan Frontier is rated for 6500K, but that still seems too much for my truck no matter what the weight says 😂❤
I pulled the wrong specs. Apologies. Just corrected the specs in the description and pinned a comment with the info
Hitch 580
Empty 5,300
Cargo 1,400
Max 6,700
Length 27' 1"
Height 11' 1"
Width 8' 0"
Ceiling 6' 9"
Awning 18' 0"
Fresh 52
Gray 39
Black 39
LP 60
Bed Size 60x80"
Tow a smaller RPod with a Frontier a lot, and I wouldn't dream of trying to tow something that big with my Frontier, too wide and too tall, regardless of weight.
I went to hour website and the specs are different. 27'-1", dry weight 5,265, and gvwr 6,700!!. Why is there a 1,200 lb difference?? I was excited to see 5,500 gvwr so we could easily use an SUV. I checked the Jayco site and this video is wrong please take down and repost with correct information
See pinned comment and info in description
The bathroom toilet is a deal breaker!😢
Nice trailer..Too bad the reviews don't bk it up
Do you have a link to what you’ve seen? It’s a new model.. there isn’t a historical review record
I think weather you prefer floor vent or no floor vent might be somewhat regional being from Texas it's pretty easy to keep it warm inside so no floor vent is my preference we don't need max heat ability lol
Toilet yoga…you crack me up.
😉
Hate shower curtains!
Market popularity and.. frankly.. they're probably doing a bit of it because that's what they've always done
I continue to push for either removable or fold up/down arm rests when I speak with MFGS
I actually was asked to outline stuff I think would make a strong laminated RV for our "GO" series and that was actually one of my hit list items
I just don't understand their designers. They carry the black color across the entry door, but not the gray? That's the first thing I'd fix.
Josh: So I have a 2021 Ford Ranger with the factory Tow Package ~ Rated to 7500 lbs. You called it out ~ Is this one a no no for me ?
On paper, I think you are within safe specs but it’s the size of the RV versus the truck that concerns me. I think for a local trips over modest terrain it could be OK. But for any sort of distance, I think you would find the trailer pushing the truck around pretty easy
It’s unfortunate that many manufacturers have not gotten rid of the gray colors on the exterior. The pigments in it are awful when out in the sun.
Layout checks all boxes. Tankless water…no sale. Why cant it be an option?
Pretty cool. A lot of sharp corners it looks like though.
Schwinteck slide mechanics on a huge slide is the biggest pitfall. Surprised you skip this subject. It is a biggie!
I’ve started including more focus on slide systems this year. This video is a but older

I kinda wish they’d lose the oven and put the space and $$ into a grown up sized microwave/convection oven combo.
I have a question. Are any refers powered with 12v and shore? Are they prohibitively expensive?
Any fridges?
Not all of them
Propane fridges are actually more expensive
General RV says they are the best especially at doing PDI .
My question; why can they build the perfect camper but make the toilet area tight, ugh!
##RVNerdHerd 🎉 😊 🎉
Love the the standard ladder, solar, plywood roof, a true queen bed, theater seating and decent TV placement👍but Jayco’s very entry level bathroom with a cheap plastic toilet, shower curtain and Dollar Store 4” fart fan is very disappointing😢
