Great video guys. Couple of things. First, you have a 375RES-R, not a 375RES-REAR. The (R) stands for residential fridge, not "rear." Second, why is your fan in the bathroom not a "Fantastic Fan?" I thought the Fantastic Fan was standard in both the kitchen and the bathroom. We are going to purchase the same unit as you have, so it was nice to see the walk through. If the bathroom fan isn't a Fantastic Fan as standard equipment, I have to make a note to upgrade it on the build sheet. Have a great time in the new rig.
I met Shawn & Nichole here at Catherine’s Landing in Hot Springs AR. They are great folks and Shawn gave me a couple of useful tips! I also own a Solitude and I am a full time RV’er! Hope to see them again when they come back this way!
I like the Grand Design products for the same reason. We are actually looking at a 2018 reflection 303 RLS. Which is the reason I found your channel! In pictures of the RV we are looking at, my son notice “ripples” on either side of the rear roof. So I watched your video on repairing the roof! The jury is still out on whether we want to take on the cost and time it would take to get it done. I don’t think the seller even knows there are issues because he’s an older gentleman who is selling because he has arthritis in his knees and probably hasn’t been on the roof in some time. We would definitely get an inspection done but seeing that issue makes me hesitate on buying. Well sorry this is so long! I enjoy your channel! Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Great Video. My wife and I just sold our home and all our belongings and our moving into our new Solitude next week. Have been struggling with what goes where. This video is great help. Just wish you wouldn’t have revealed the gun compartments.😉 subscribing. Thank you.
I’m wondering if you could send me pics of the lighting inside over the sink and sconce lighting in the living room. Did you change them ? Our 2021 doesn’t have that lighting and we like yours so much better 😊
I just found your channel today searching for info on this unit, 375 RES. We’re so excited, we’ve just ordered ours. It should be here sometime in March. Would love to see a video about what it’s like to drive. Our recent unit was only 35 ft. It’s also nice to see what you’ve done inside, gives me ideas. I travel with a small loom so I have a “few” craft supplies. Maybe you could do something about crafting while on the road. I think there are more of us than we hear about. Wondering where the fuses are? Great video!
Celia, those are great suggestions and I will talk with Nichole about including that in one of our upcoming videos. We will release one tonight that shows the difficulty of getting out of a tight turn-around in my dad's yard. My wife is a painter and loves projects and that is something we could speak to as well. Thanks for reaching out and I would love to see a picture of your unit when you get it.
Hi yall ,I'm from SE Louisiana in Morgan city. My hubby just retired 21 years from the Army. What percentage did you get off the Msrp? We've heard anywhere from 20 to 30 percent. Trying to figure it out before we buy. Which will be this summer full time living. Cajuns, your going on the top of my subscription favorites. So I can listen to you talk. It makes me homesick.
lol... Thanks for watching and we love having you on the channel! We negotiated down to about 30% discount. It is doable but you have to be firm but at the same time aware of market conditions. I think there are a lot of new rigs coming on the market soon as so many people bought during the 2020 shut down and are now having buyers remorse. May be great deals if you look a bit. Facebook has groups in just about every class of RV. I see great deals posted on there all the time. - Shawn
Sheila, my husband and I have been living full-time in the same model for 3 years with 2 small dogs and a cat. We still love it and it's plenty big enough for all 5 of us.
Great video. We are really close to pulling the trigger on the same model, but a 2022 minus the full body paint (which I love). Have you had any quality/warranty issues? Were the addressed? Thanks again and keep up the great videos!
Thanks for the comment. Yes we had a roof issue that we did a video on, it was a big problem but GD did handle it well. The problem is that all of these RV's have problems so finding someone that stands behind the product is key!
Johnathon, thanks for watching! We have a base in Lafayette, with a couple of RV hookups for when we are in town. 20 acres came on the market so I bought half and a family member the other half. We were not really thinking about purchasing at this time but things worked out and it made sense. We only plan to use it as a place to stay when family issues require it.
We are looking for a new rig. I love everything about this one, except the bathroom, no drawers and not enough space for towels. We have a 2018 GD Reflection now but we want something a little bigger and a different layout.
Love the tour! Thinking about getting this same model but also looking at the Alliance. Question, how hard was it to drive a big truck and pull this vs your Winnebago? We currently have just a little Jayco Hummingbird 17Rb and row it with a 4 Runner. So we want to upgrade but are kinda afraid of pulling something much larger and all the maneuvering. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Blessings and safe travels 😊
It was a challenge at first, you have to take your time on curves. I would practice in a large parking lot with cones to get the hang of it. It pulls great but you have to be sure you are aware of where you are going before pulling into a spot that is tight and has poor exits. A learning curve but doable!
Sandra Westley from UK do the sites not provide washing machines and dryers, most of our sites, the good quality ones always have washers dryers and ironing boards, etc, plus large shower and large family bathrooms. I personally don’t use the showers etc because I always use our own.
Most do, but some do not. Also we have found that when they do, it can be a limited amount and sometimes not in very good working condition. We also prefer to shower in our RV unless it is really nice and want to take a longer shower. Thanks for the question.
Thanks! Yes, it has made work life better. We both have a place to set up and work at the same time now with out being too much in each other's way. It's also provided a bedroom with a door to close if one person is working and one is chilling and wants to watch tv or take a nap. LOL
We piggy back to get to 4400 watts. I only run one AC at a time even with them tied together. If I got easy starts put on the AC's I should be able to run both as long as I don't run anything else with a big power draw.
Hi - I have enjoyed your videos. Do you think you may have been overwhelmed with this bigger rig if you had not had the smaller one first? potential future rv owner asking ;)
I think the answer is yes. Mainly because of the concern of learning to navigate the whole camping thing in general. However, after the fact I can tell you it's not a big deal if you are confident with towing something like this. Each experience came with its own learning curve. To us it is just part of the adventure. I think it is most important to be honest about your lifestyle and how you plan to use it.
its nice but i still love the minnie winnie the best and I don't really know why LOL. But I understand you needing something to fit your lifestyle better.
I think on average you are looking at about a 12k upgrade from the basic color, I understand that they now have a white body style in the 2021 model. Thanks we love it!
Great video! We're considering buying this same floor plan. Do you know how big the sofa beds are once you unfold them into beds? Our kids are growing and we're concerned they're not long enough.
Great question. 1. We would have liked the stairs going to the bedroom to have shoe storage like the one going to the living area. 2. It would be nice if the bedroom had brighter colors (we can always modify that). 3. We should have opted for a third AC as we spend a lot of time in the south during the year because our kiddo's are there. 4. I wish we would have upgraded with the solar package so that we could use more plugs when dry camping. At some point you have to decide what you want to spend against your camping style. Honestly we love this unit so far!
Kory, that is a great observation. We will attempt to cover that asap. We purchase ours for around 74k and it was listed for 110 if I remember correctly. Our insurance runs around 170.00 a month. It was 125 a month for our first purchase of our minnie winnie 25b that cost us 70k. Thank you for the great feedback!
Alan, I would not want to carry this amount of weight without a dually, I feel safer with those four wheels in the back. This truck pulls this RV with ease. Thanks for watching!
Vasilios, haha, this is how I got hooked as well. We loved the living space in the back. It is raised from the kitchen area creating a nice living room that feels more like home. Also, you back into most parks and that is normally your best view. Grand Design does a fantastic job with large windows and that was a selling point. Also the raised living room gives you the full storage outside and that was a big deal for us. Thanks for reaching out.
@@TheCajunNomads Thanks! If we could we would get the FBP. We also like the new white exterior with black graphics. We have four that will be in the RV Also have two 12’ kayaks.
@@TheCajunNomads the longer the kayak, the fast it naturally rows. Our 12’ kayaks will not fit straight in all the way. We will have to angle them left front to right rear over the slide area.
