I always enjoy y'all's videos! I recently switched careers and am now a full time agent w/ a small boutique agency specializing in Disney as well. Y'all aren't kidding about all times of the day and night. I found that out with my first client booking. I sure am thankful for the fact I am basically a walking Disney encyclopedia. I'm loving it, but it changes everything. My upcoming trip, I'm resort hopping for experience with resorts I've not stayed at (Swan& Dolphin as well) and working almost as much as relaxing.
I have listened to your podcast for the past 2 years, but this is the first video I’ve seen of you guys! Finally wanting to take that jump into Travel Agency 😂😅
Can you provide a realistic breakdown of annual revenue in the first 5 years? Understanding that there is a ramp up, just trying to figure out if it makes sense. Are you working 50 hrs a week and bringing home 30k? We have a passion and love for all things Disney, and an idea that we might like to help others plan vacations, but it also has to make sense that the effort put in has the ROI in the end. Would love to have some discussions with you if you have the time. Love the videos by the way.
I know this is not a great answer but it’s true….it completely depends. If you’re truly passionate about it, go to fantasticalvacations.com and fill out the application with your background. Your question is a good one, but the answer is way more in depth than we could get on a RUclips comment
Hello! I've been looking up different agencies for Orlando, and it's hard to narrow down. Which ones do you recommend? I'm not looking for an MLM or a pyramid type thing. I don't want to have to bring other agents on to boost me up.
There are a lot of reputable agencies out there. What I don’t know is what the culture of each one is like and what kind of support they offer to their agents. I would apply to several that look appealing to you and see what they offer
Really considering this as a career choice after college. Do you have any advice for someone wanting to be a travel agent possibly during or after college?
I’ve seen some travel agents who go on property and are able to get tours of lots of the resorts through Disney but then other agents don’t do that (they instead just book their own trips and learn by being on site) How are some agents able to get on site tours of the property but others aren’t?
It’s definitely a commitment, but any side hustle is. It starts off slow because you’re mainly booking for the occasional family or friend trip that reaches out to you. More time is spent growing your presence and reach. As your client base grows, you can decide how much time you are able to put toward it.
Hey Stephan, feel free to go to fantasticalvacations.com and fill out the application and make sure you put your phone number on it with as much about you as you’re comfortable sharing. Thanks for watching
That’s a great question! We don’t contract with independent contractors outside of the US and I don’t know of any host agencies that do. For us, it has everything to do with US tax law and insurance. Not sure what Disney’s stance on agencies OCONUS would be. Sorry…
@@AddictedtotheMouse thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it looks like my dream job is out of reach for the moment. Enjoy and thank you for your vlogs
Hello Leanne, I am an avid Australian fan of Dan and Leslie and I am looking to do some exciting things in Australia in relation to Disney ... etc Please contact me.

Yep! It’s a weird adjustment but also awesome when work is vacation!
What agency are you working for? And congratulations!

I just signed up with an agency but the advice in this video provided some great advice and questions to find the right fit! Thank you!
Awesome, congrats!
I absolutely love your videos. I actually just applied to your agency

Thank you!
Where is that Disney tshirt from? My husband would love it.
It was a gift, I’m pretty sure they got it off Etsy
Can you recommend some host agencies for a beginner OR ways to search for host agencies?
There are a ton. Start with searching for travel agency Disney and research from there.

We don’t recommend specific agencies. Keep doing your research and asking the right questions. You’ll find on that’s right for you.
Excellent video
What is considered a large fee?
That’s relative compared to the value you get from it
any recommendations on reputable agencies to apply to? Thanks!

Really considering this as a career choice after college. Do you have any advice for someone wanting to be a travel agent possibly during or after college?
There’s no substitute for experience. Travel as much as possible to the destinations you want to sell
Do travel agents working for a host agency still get discounts? This video was so helpful! Thank you!!
Yes but it depends on the sales of the host agency and how much the agent contributes to that.

Not sure exactly. Hopefully, we will learn more as we grow 😊
i am worried about the time commitment with my full time job - how were you able to balance it well when you were still teaching full time?
It’s definitely a commitment, but any side hustle is. It starts off slow because you’re mainly booking for the occasional family or friend trip that reaches out to you. More time is spent growing your presence and reach. As your client base grows, you can decide how much time you are able to put toward it.
Which travel agent accreditation would you recommend? Which company did you go with?
We went with CLIA, just depends on what you’re looking to do and IATA has some strict requirements for new agencies
Do I have to contact disney to get a disney travel advisor? I want to book a cruise asap..
Not at all. You can go to www.fantasticalvacations.com and click the “request a quote” button at the top right of the page
Can you talk about being independent(not with a host) I’m not a US citizen so I am going down that path.
Unfortunately, We wouldn’t be able to give you any advice as a non-US citizen. We just aren’t familiar with that. Best of luck to you!
How do I find a host agency?
Google travel agencies and Disney and a bunch will pop up. Go to each of their sites and see if they have an application to fill out, most of them do.
I would love to talk with you more about this. Can we schedule a call sometime?
Hey Stephan, feel free to go to fantasticalvacations.com and fill out the application and make sure you put your phone number on it with as much about you as you’re comfortable sharing. Thanks for watching
I live in Australia, can you become a disney travel agent and live in another country??
