some of you talking shit about this car and driver. yeah it was a horrible launch but getting a car setup correctly to come out the hole and stick takes a lot of bad hits and adjustments. I run a 64 Catalina with a N/A 455 and took a whole day first time at the track started at 13:00 by the end of the day running a 12:25 consistent. Not to mention learning a car and getting comfortable in how it handles. This car is obviously an animal
It's impressive, but nope. It's also not a Pontiac I don't think. Me thinks it's a BBC. For the baddest pure Pontiac run ever, check out the Boss Bird here. ruclips.net/video/qC1zgMhSHcM/видео.html
Good grief is the engine here sounding strong, very IN tune, Do Not Touch. Some suspension work needed & adjustments & Look Out!! This BEAST will be running in the 8's soon. Great Job!!
This is what happens when you ignore your suspension. He wasn’t able to get on it properly because it couldn’t keep itself straight. You could actually see the torque twist the car every time he hit the throttle. Come to think of it some frame reinforcement would be wise also. With a better driver and/or stiffer suspension this thing would lay 8’s all day long.
there was a time that all funny cars had automatic transmissions with torque converters. the torque convertors limited the idle speed of the engine snd that's the way they all sounded when they were in reverse. RUMP RUMP RUMP RUMP
#1 it's not a LeMans. It's not a GTO. It's a TEMPEST. #2 just because he the anouncer says it's a 540 doesent automatically mean it's a chevy motor..... #3. Butler Performance aftermarket aluminium block bore 4.37 stroke 4.5
No matter what people have to say, that rolling burnout was cool. And theirs ‘’Nothing better than a blown big block,’’ and I really don’t care if it’s Ford, dodge Chevy. It’s all badazz.
GTO used to stand for "Gas, Tires and Oil." Now it's "Getting Too Old!!!" Although I have to say there's nothing like the sound of a screaming car and the smell of burning rubber.
S/FX? Stock body; yes, steel no front hood & maybe a fiberglass trunk lid. F/X? (Factory Experimental), no way, rear axle hasn’t been moved forward at all. Front wheels are near stock, or 3” forward at best. This is a Gasser Class car denoted by it’s straight front axle. Being a S/C’d Alcohol car changes it’s designation even more. Also, there isn’t any NHRA class designation painted on any of it’s windows, which is strange.
New Car be like....Dual overhead cams, multi point fuel injection, Wide Band O2 sensors with variable valve marketing bullshit stuff and stuffs... Old car be like....gayzer, bye
Yeah, there was a BB Chevy powered GTO that looked almost identical to my '66 Tripower Goat. It was faster than my car, although we never actually raced.
Come on it blows. First run it looked like he blew a ring. Second run you could see the body flex. He needs a subframe. Enough runs and that vehicle will drive sideways.
That's just old school. "Run what ya brung", used to be the adage. The bad "launch" makes sense because these lifted, straight axle cars never did work all that well. But I'll bet it sure is a fun and wild ride!
love it when it makes your hair on the back of your neck stand up

Holy crap, buddy. Time for some suspension upgrades. It's got plenty of power. It's just a violent beast. Lol

LOL
🤣For anyone that says you can't build a badass Pontiac engine
Would cost 10 times as much as a chevy!
@@mattkurtz8549nope. My brother used to get them done at low prices. It was all about access to parts and knowing mechanics.
way cool, I'm from the old school - 56 pontiac gasser. ken..
For years, in the 80's, I drove a 56 Pontiac 2 door sedan all over the western USA. Had a 59 389 in it and surprised many people.

Yes Sir that was back in the day when we say what do you do with 365 used ( Condoms) rubbers.. Make a tire and call it a good year..Lol
🤣 run in the nines at 169 mph and had to let out of it I fucken burn out to 🤣
Absolutely sick, no need for the little blue after driving this thing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

all dat for dat?
That thing is too high off the ground!
geezzz give that machine to someone who can actually drive and race it!! Why the delay at the greenlight???
Dan Favata that thing is obviously a handful. He isn't worried about cutting a perfect light.
you sir are a idiot
Ever heard of qualifying or a exhibition pass? That burnout was worth watching on its own!

Nice car, lottsa potential but the driver muffed it at the green...
Just don't understand why a person would raise a car so high when lower is quicker

Add to moter set back, move rear end forward , AFX cool
Less air pressure would do wonders
Dumb Yankee has built that engine fo sho but fo got da suspension....
To bad it's a tempest
