  • James Corden’s emotional farewell to parents at Into the Woods premiere
    7th January 2015
The Curzon Cinema in Mayfair played host to the highly anticipated Disney adaptation movie of Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods epic musical, which sees the greatest fairytale characters come together.
Actors Emily Blunt, James Corden, Tracey Ullman, Meryl Streep, Frances de la Tour, Richard Glover, Joanna Riding and Daniel Huttlestone were in attendance along with director Rob Marshall and producers John Deluca and Mark Platt.
Along with the usual in-screen intoductions fronted by Rob Marshall, James Corden made an emotional farewell to his parents for his last night in the UK before heading to America to replace Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show.
“Be careful what you wish for” is the moral of this story, as intertwining plots bring the Grimm fairytale characters together in a not-so-happily-ever-after. During the film the singing is splendid, the humour is just right, and Meryl Streep is utter brilliance, whilst Chris Pine’s Prince Chaming added a little cheese.
This is a great movie that makes you leave the cinema bursting into song (which some did in the ladies’ toilets straight after).
Into The Woods is in cinemas 9th January 2015.
