A Capitol Tour of the Library of Congress

Janice McKelvey discussed the history of the Library of Congress when it was located within the U.S. Capitol, from 1800 to 1897. Special attention was given to the various locations that the Library was located in the Capitol. The destruction of the Capitol (including its library) during the War of 1812 and the purchase of Thomas Jefferson's private library were also covered.
