TC=Super Sized Reed Pre Katrina. They still sound like a high school....Just loud as hell. TC has Twice as many tubas as SU and they still getting ate alive by SU Tubas. SU has remarkable arrangements that showcases every section of their band. SU hands down. Go home with the simple stuff TC!

think about it ... all the bias with u guys is real ... when su battled grambling y'all were all like yeaa yeaa gram got balance and arrangements but su louder so su won but in this case y'all say TC louder but they lost in my opinion both band are very unbalanced TC baritones to loud sound good as a section but too loud and su baritones aren't loud enough ... same with trumpets nd tubas too nd they can't play low notes for some odd reason

Every type of song TC attempted to blow at SU their was a better response from Southern. And it's clear SU destroyed them. Dynamics articulation quality and arrangements is what Dega lacks. That Chicago battle was the exposing moment in arrangement. I had no idea that TC played applause those baritones destroyed the song in a bad way.

These people will never understand... This band receives more criticism than any other band. But what's crazy is that they literally feed off that hate. The more haters they get, the better & bigger they get. Why is that? Simply because if this band didn't spark an interest in the eyes of some musicians, trust me they wouldn't even be in the spotlight. Yes they might be a bit disrespectful towards other bands at different events, but u know what happens when all that starts happening. Viewers start watching, what happens when viewers start watching? Ratings start going sky high. What happens when ratings start going sky high? Money starts cashing out! People will actually pay more money just to go see them. I guarantee Talladega will not only get better, but they will also steal the hearts of other college band fans. Soon you will see "SU, JSU, ASU,FAMU, etc..Band fans" come out of nowhere climbing aboard the "DegaBandWagonExpress" breaking their necks along the way just to go see Talladega play! Don't believe me, just watch! Btw, this is coming from a SU fan

TC B-Tones louder than their whole band.. Lol.. Their Tubas need to step their game up.. All them tubas for nothing... TC has improved from last year.... But they are still some years from beating SU.. Good job tho TC

I need somebody from TC to answer this question: How are yall marching EVERY parade in the NOLA? Dont yall have class? It just makes me wonder how many people in that band is actually enrolled at TC smh...
LOL....#I'm weak. Maybe they have permission to take off. But on a serious note I hope they are actually students. I hate seeing our schools program fail because of stupidity of leadership and their desires. FAMU learned the hard way... and we found out through the death of the drum major and police investigation that 60 percent of their band wasn't even students for at least 10 plus years.
TheRm2grow lol. but the statement regarding FAMU is absolutely false. It was less than 10 percent who were not enrolled and there was nobody in the band for more than 10 years... where did you hear that from because were you definitely lied to... lol.
His parents did a interview and along with the police that was investigating. it was found that it took place for over a ten year time span that the band was doing this illegal practice and by this I mean you have kids in your band that's not enrolled. They found that student records didn't match with FAMU admissions. But to me it's a sad issue for the university no matter the percent and I hope this isn't the case for TC.

su tubas sounds lazy and empty ... I heard no lows coming from over there but TC was slanging pedal tones like they had some type of disorder
TC Baritone is carrying the whole band! Where is the Balance? and it's loud and sloppy! With southern you hear every instrument with balance and TC get your own Identity!

man Talladega is still having the same problems they had when I first saw them. Just not pleasing to the ear. overblowing, no balance at all. Just sounded terrible on certain parts of songs. SU sounds like a band, not sections trying to out blow each other. All those B-tones in TC need they butt whooped for sounding like that. I could not hear anything but them, couldn't enjoy the songs at all sorry guys SWAC wins again

The fact that people are even comparing Talladega to Southern don't even make sense. Talladega have a lot growing up to do. You can have 200 people in a band, true they will be loud and also sound like shit. Whoever said Talladega won because they are bigger and louder have never played a instrument in life, nor have they even been in a real marching band. Someone started making excuses for Talladega cause they marched more parades than Southern, I was at all those parades and they still sound like shit. They were loud and sloppy. Southern band is awesome, they may not be as big as Talladega, but they were loud and clean. You were able to hear the music they were playing. I can guarantee that 75% of Talladega band is not students.
just my opinion but they sound like a big ass highschool band ... as if the arrangments was watered down ... no matter how big you are you still need balance ... im not saying who but if you list you know who im talking about...

Unlike most SU fans I am a JSU fan to the heart and I can be objective...Talledega you all are coming alone really good but the level of playing and band sounding as a unit has just a little ways to go! SU took this one but good job Talledega!!

Listen to the song Southern played at 12:55. Then Dega played it right after. Southern way clear and balanced. Dega just loud. B-tones murdered that song and not in a good way. Listen if someone play a song first and you have the same song and yours not better than there arrangement. DON'T PLAY IT BACK AT THEM. Southern won both battles. And if you think Dega won you really don't no music.

to be Honest i like both bands, But I think Tc came harder last year.. Southern didn't have their whole band but they held it down sweet.. As far as quality, Power and over all sound i have to give this to Southern.. TC was bringing some heat, but their sound and quality as well as balance was not on the level of Southern..Tc b tones loud as hell, but kinna drowns out the band, they need much more balance.. they would be a real force if they calm down them Btones and balance out the band..

Southern showed up for 1 parade. Southern is a dynamic band but you cant take away the endurance and hardwork talladega displayed. Trust me bro. Smh bro u can't call SU a commercial ass band.. This is a 60+ year band they tradition.. If anything TC is a commercial band they just got on the scene .. SU been there and done that and no I'm not a bias fan I have family in both bands but try not to disrespect a program that been on the scene for years
nasaah1 I agree with you on that. I think a lot of the younger generation don't respect tradition. That's why we have problems with TC talking so much trash but at the same time trying to be like Southern. Just because TC was loud they lack balance in their band and I'm not in any band. I can hear very well and I think TC was expose with Chicago by Michael Jackson doing this battle. From some of the TC fan comments I think it's just about being Loud.... IMO.

I was there, and I give TC credit they're getting better every year. However, bigger and louder does not equate to better. There was no balanced sound. Gotta give it to my alma mater! Go SU... keep going strong though TC you've got a lot of kids in NO wanting to head your way.
That first sound Talladega played was trash. They can't even play the runs that was in that song. They was only loud on the whole notes.

They will probably never bet a football team, but even if they do, they will still never play SU because they are in two different confrences... I would actually pay to see them battle in the stands though

SU was way more captivating. I heard notes coming from different directions at different times and all kinds of big band tricks that only professionals can achieve. Way better trained sound and power. That song TC was playing from 11-12 mins in sounded pretty good too. TC's followers or band-boosters are hilarious. I would love to hear what they are hearing when TC is playing because it is definitely not the same thing I hear. That could be just me though 😳

If you a true Band head and ever marched in a band, spring semester is concert season. So any Marching performances during this time the band not going to be full like marching season. Southern was missing some of their members but with Southern it don't even matter!

Arrangements is was make you ... any clown can blow a horn ... all sections have to respect each other ... and with TC they will get there but the b-tones trying to blow there own mellows out ... no balance ... JState and SU has the respect within the band and play the arrangments... TC methed is just BLOW thats how it was when he was at REED when Carver used to go in that ass...
So forget all those bad notes, water down arrangements, and unbalanced sound.
