Do you mean adding the plumbed in drain? Yes, kind of ... By which I mean, it can overflow onto the slab if conditions cause far more water than available drain capacity (rare) or if it freezes. The pool heater has protection for that but pipes open to the elements don't. If you can source the drain kit contents and you have a bit of a DIY bent then you will save a lot and be able to make a custom fit for you. Does that help, Mike?
