Hi Chynna, this video was very touching. My husband who was in church with me left after 30 years of marriage for another woman. It was devastating for me, my children, other family members and friends. I encourage you and your husband to continue seeking for help and value each other. I can see how much you love each other and even thou Billy is not a “born again Christian” as you say, you can tell that your example and testimony has touched him too. When I turned 50, I had a mental breakdown. I shaved my head, started smoking and divorced my husband of 30 yrs! After an overdose and ending up in the hospital, I was diagnosed as bipolar and began treatment. My husband and I still loved each other and after a year of being divorced we ended up back together. We've been back together since 2007 it has honestly been the best years of our lives. I don't ever want to be without him.
My wife of 15 years went through menopause. It wasn't good. I didn't know her anymore. Completely different person. She started drinking heavy. Drunk everyday. 15 years down the tubes. Gone.
I admire Billy for committing to the relationship with Chynna for the long journey. I'm only 2 years younger than Billy and have not had a relationship in life, preferring to stay alone and never risk getting hurt. I hope he treasures the helpmate he has in Chynna and keeps talking. Open communication is so crucial to mutual love and support. You are showing guys like me what being a stand-up man is about, by sticking with it through the hard times.

Dear Chynna! Keep fighting for your marriage my friend. My husband and I lost our oldest son suddenly 6 years ago. The loss has been devastating beyond words and we are now in a major struggle to save our 34 year marriage. Life, marriage, and parenting are soooo hard but we all need to keep fighting, because Jesus asks us to pick up our cross and follow him. These crosses in life are really heavy and the journey in life as a Christian is daunting at times (with these crosses). I am praying for you and Billy (and the Cal Preach community) and I ask that you pray for my marriage as well. Well..Divorce isn't an option...when the going gets tough. You gotta find that passion again..trust me, just hit 30 yrs and it wasn't easy, but by God's Grace we are at 30 yrs and 1 month. Of course there's days I've woken up & thought what in the Hey-ho am I doing. We both have changed & become different people, but bottom line, that matters not. We both said to have and to hold, better or for worse. Tomorrow's a new day, then the next & the next.

I tried to save my marriage, but there is only so long someone can put up with abuse and being ridiculed. My children suffered greatly from the abuse been done to me. So maybe people can not be so judgmental…

My prayer list is Very long and I do it first thing Every morning and speak/pray with God throughout the day, I need his help as I work with troubled children, I have a bachelor's degree in elementary ed. And also my husband and parents died when my 3 kids were little and we have had to move to another state and have been on our own so I do feel for those alone feeling lost and need Go's help every day as I encounter children with extreme needs.
40 years here, it’s a lot of work and newly weds need to hear this. There’s going to be times you both want to walk away you just have to work it out talk it out. We agree when raising our kids we just didn’t take time out for just the two of us, that can be a problem.
My hubby and I are empty nesters and moved away to our vacation city! We are also trying to reconnect. It helps so much to know we aren’t the only ones struggling to get closer and truly love each other and the Lord. Receiving the peace of Christ IS so important❤️
Billy’s a great husband! Full of love and understanding and patience. One important thing to always remember is not to internalize (make personal) what the other is saying but giving space when noticeable projections arise. Kindness is key! ✝️
34 years...3 kids later. I can totally relate. Marriage is hard work. Sometimes I feel the longer your married the harder it is. You know how to push your partners buttons.There are many ups and downs..the ups are amazing and the downs make you want to give up but dont. Multiply that by hollywood and you both have extra pressure and stress. The distance alone when Billy is working and Chynna being the one to hold down the fort. Pray, pray and ask God to help you through the rough patches. It is so obvious how much you love each other. The fact that Billy initiated the prayer shows you how much he really does. ❤ 🙏
I was shedding tears as Billy was praying! The only thing I will say is if God is the "Head" of your home there is nothing you both can't get through together no matter what it is!!!
Billy’s prayer was so sweet and genuine ...just precious! My husband and I have been married for 37 years and have definitely had our ups and downs. We’ve grown together in some ways and apart in others but the Lord has held us together. Some advice my mom gave me before I got married was that we could not let our feelings run our marriage . Our commitment to Christ and each other had to be at the front. I know the times when we’ve had our lowest times was when we let our emotions and pride take the front seat. Fortunately we would stop ( like you are doing now) and talk and reset our resolve to stay together. You both have that commitment and it’s so sweet to hear Billy say it out loud that he wants it to work and to stay together. It will be a testament to your children and future grandchildren! Praying for all of us in the marriage arena. Satan wants to take us out, but the Lord is stronger. You’re right Chynna, the Lord loves marriage❤️🙏🏻

I’m agreeing with many others for the restoration of your marriage and for the Holy Spirit to guide you in ways that are “exceedingly abundantly more than you can think or ask.” My 18 year old marriage is in the most challenging place we’ve experienced but we all know the enemy would not attack us so vehemently if we weren’t threats to him. “Greater is He Who is in us than he who is in the world!” You know more than I could tell you. Dear Chynna and Bill, I just so appreciate you both. I am a minority on your channel here in that I am a male so have a natural inclination to see many things from Bill’s perspective. However, I am also a Christian and see the spiritual issues from Chynna’s perspective. All of this is rounded out in that my Wife and I are almost identical ages as the two of you, we have 4 young-adult children, and can relate to the very real challenges that life throws at marriage. Relax & enjoy each other, just don't over think we were enjoying our years, when he got cancer & passed 10mths ago. 34.5 years married. We had purposes, living in God's will, we respected each other & had no thought of splitting, that was never an option. Hang in there it's better on the other side, after the mid life crisises, tradegies & accepting the children leaving home. ❤️
Love that he is praying and that he initiated to pray. Very much liked this Chilly segment. Hey Billy be considerate of your wife when she says to slow down on your driving if it makes her very anxious. It shows that you respect her feelings and she'll feel loved and cared for.
Been married 32 years. Also been through some close calls of pulling the plug. But we somehow get through those periods time and time again. I became a Christian after we married. I changed. But my husband did not mind too much as long as I didn’t push it on him. However, the relationship with Jesus became far more deep and intimate than with my husband. Husband was working a lot. I was raising the children mostly on my own. Our relationship was strained and tested to the max. Neither of us have divorced parents or grandparents so it didn’t seem like an option to take. But we saw plenty of examples of marriages that were not so great. I’ve had to go from worldly material girl to a god girl. It is still a work in progress. All I can add to this conversation is that love is a verb, not a feeling and die to self daily is what we are to do in our walk. Your relationship with god is the same as your relationship with your spouse. Marriage is supposed to be that reflection on earth. I pray for you both. Billy prays beautifully, just being himself and honest. That’s all god expects from us. I hope he hears back in a way which he can understand. He can ask for that specifically. God bless you both.

It’s amazing you all are sharing so much personal stuff with the world. It makes one so vulnerable. I think it’s information fans want to know, and at the same time so helpful. I fear the miscommunication might happen in my marriage, now that the husband is retired. I am making a conscious effort to totally enjoy this qualitative and quantitative time. I LOVE all the background noises! So calming with the church bells, airplanes, and roosters.

I identify with some of the frustrations you’re experiencing. I think my husband is probably a little bit ahead of where Billy is spiritually, but he’s still not where I’m at, and so there is a place that we can’t get past because I can’t speak to him about spiritual issues in a way that I would like to. I’m guessing the issue is the same with Billy? My biggest prayer is that my husband and I would someday be aligned spiritually. It would make all the difference in our marriage. What a guy your husband really is though, Chynna. He clearly loves you so much. Peace of Christ.

I felt silly after leaving my comment about having my toilet album signed but I realize now you just have a lot going on!😥 I hate that you’re going through a rough patch but you both seem to have a high level of emotional intelligence and self awareness which is very important like you said. You seem to communicate very well and at times where it seems like one might get offended at the other, you all stay patient and keep listening, love that! I feel like you two have a very solid foundation, and the love and determination needed to make it work, not that I’m an expert by any means, but I’m fully confident you all will pull through☺️❤️
This really is great share you & Billy have done. I've been married as long as you 2. We have many of the same issues & you've given me inspiration & direction. I do admire to Chynna for showing the world your beautiful spirit, faults, failures & Successes. I don't share the religious aspects for this big reason. I've experienced & survived SO much hipocracy. I was raised by a narcissistic mother who "claims" to be a christian. I'm in my early 60's & been lied to, manipulated & damaged by her. But in last few yrs have therapy, awareness & knowledge of this. I've had to eliminate ALL interaction with the full blood siblings I grew up with as they're caught in her toxic web. With that loss I gained a connection with my Dad & his incredible family the kind I'd always dreamed of. Was told he'd abanded me when about 5. Few yrs ago after his death learned of yrs of letters, cards he'd sent me marked Return to Sender. Never told of by my Dad who still ❤️'d & protected my wicked, nasty mother. So ironic that is was Mothers Day 3yrs ago. That day I wrote her & told her I consider her dead & Never ever contact me again! I have known in my life Only under 5 people who TRULY practice & Live as True Christians. I'm not atheist but mainstream organized religion I stay as far away from as possible. I really respect you & Billy for putting yr lives out there for us all to learn together to Do & BE Better. I like this video a lot! Billy is my favorite Baldwin brother and Chynna, I was an instant fan of Chynna Phillip's when ya'll came out with your 1st CD in the 90's. I was a sophomore in college. Thank you for making this video and speaking honestly about your marriage. Really resonated with me. I like the driving analogy. I will literally pray and close my eyes when husband drives. I figure, God has kept him alive all these years while driving on his own, why not me in the passenger seat. LOL. My husband and I are married with one child, who is now a young adult. 21 years of marriage so far by the grace of God in Christ Jesus. Had some turbulence along the way, but we're still together and I can't picture my life without him.

This hit home! My husband likes his daily beer and it drives me crazy, I bitch at him. He says my frivolous shopping habits and amazon packages drive him just as crazy. I never put the two on the same plane, now I get it. Always a work in progress, I hope! We are married 42 years and recently retired! Whole new life!
I just love you guys. I’m glad you are communicating with each other, that you are trying. As a fellow believer, there is one important distinction between husband and wife. The wife NEEDS to be loved ( driving more cautiously when she is in car to comfort her anxiety shows love to her). The husband NEEDS respect ( showing him respect esp. before others) Marriage as you know is a commitment. No greater love is shown than that of forgiveness and agape love first ( not focusing on self love) Obviously no one should despise themselves. You both have invested so much in each other! You’ve earned this moment to rescue each other as Christ said and always wants from us…find and go back to your first love. We are watching and we are praying for you and your precious family 💕 I have no doubt you can do this! It’s intentional love that lasts! Focus on how Jesus loved and how He loves us now. I think since you both came from careers with high expectations, you may have brought that into your marriage. Is it possible for each of you to be home and be " the soft place to land for each other"? In my first marriage, we were married 12 years and our eldest son at 8 was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The marriage ended 3 months after his diagnosis. We were not each others " soft place to land". We had high expectations of each other to " get over it". I was blessed to have found someone who took over when I was running on empty. After 26 years, I can come home from a hard day and count on Don to just be kind, listen, and supportive with no strings attached.
I believe you two will be just fine. You talk more than any couple I know, whether in front of or not in front of the camera. You prayer together. Billy is praying. This is huge. You two are an inspiration. Marriage isnt easy and for some couples wayyy more stressful/a struggle than others. Thanks for sharing your lives and struggles. God bless you two and your family.

Being together is amazingly difficult! This is the part that is worth it all. I pray that you make it through for yourselves, your family, and all your friends. I love what Billy said about finding things that bring you together in stead of focusing on the differences. Being apart is a horrible idea right now. I am speaking from 36 years from marriage where we have very few things in common.

Well the sense I get - being a complete outsider - is that you’re a little bit more miffed at a recent incident then Billy. I feel he potentially was in the wrong and is now coming to you for forgiveness and being humble in saying he would like things to work out and then asking you what you think. Appreciate your honesty and can completely relate, especially the driving analogy. I have experienced the exact same driving experience and the lack of consideration and anxiety it produces. It spoils every activity we set out to do together and sours good times. Is not love being kind and considerate of one's partner's feelings? One always hears that marriage is such hard work but I think for those couples that are in sync, it isn't that hard. I can totally relate to your struggles and your exhaustion of them as well. I think that our generation mistakenly paid too much attention to our children lives at the expense of our own marriages. I think the pendulum swung too far the other way and as a result, we are left cobbling together neglected relationships that are seriously depleted and challenging. Maybe the expiration date is here and needs to be heeded. Rather than thinking that the marriage has failed, maybe it has simply run it's course and to respect the time together as a beautiful season in life but to not fight moving on. Distance, illness, a never ending pandemic have not helped for sure. Or perhaps we all need to give it one more sho given the past few years but if after a concerted effort ifthe relationship is just no longer meeting each other's needs, grant each other grace to move on while maintaining love and respect for the time you had together.

You have my prayers. As an fyi, my parents have been married for 60+ years with many ups and downs and dramas. One of their ongoing, but minor issues is over getting into the car when leaving for events. One waits in the house (to go) and the other waits in the car (to go) until both realize something is wrong and they're going to be late. Never resolved. I can't figure why it still happens.

It was devastating for me, my children, other family members and friends. I encourage you and your husband to continue seeking for help and value each other. I can see how much you love each other and even thou Billy is not a “born again Christian” as you say, you can tell that your example and testimony has touched him too. When I turned 50, I had a mental breakdown. I shaved my head, started smoking and divorced my husband of 30 yrs! After an overdose and ending up in the hospital, I was diagnosed as bipolar and began treatment. My husband and I still loved each other and after a year of being divorced we ended up back together. We've been back together since 2007 it has honestly been the best years of our lives. I don't ever want to be without him.
My wife of 15 years went through menopause. It wasn't good. I didn't know her anymore. Completely different person. She started drinking heavy. Drunk everyday. 15 years down the tubes. Gone.

Dear Chynna! Keep fighting for your marriage my friend. My husband and I lost our oldest son suddenly 6 years ago. The loss has been devastating beyond words and we are now in a major struggle to save our 34 year marriage. Life, marriage, and parenting are soooo hard but we all need to keep fighting, because Jesus asks us to pick up our cross and follow him. These crosses in life are really heavy and the journey in life as a Christian is daunting at times (with these crosses). Well..Divorce isn't an option...when the going gets tough. You gotta find that passion again..trust me, just hit 30 yrs and it wasn't easy, but by God's Grace we are at 30 yrs and 1 month. Of course there's days I've woken up & thought what in the Hey-ho am I doing. We both have changed & become different people, but bottom line, that matters not. We both said to have and to hold, better or for worse. Tomorrow's a new day, then the next & the next.

I tried to save my marriage, but there is only so long someone can put up with abuse and being ridiculed. My children suffered greatly from the abuse been done to me. My prayer list is Very long and I do it first thing Every morning and speak/pray with God throughout the day, I need his help as I work with troubled children, I have a bachelor's degree in elementary ed. And also my husband and parents died when my 3 kids were little and we have had to move to another state and have been on our own so I do feel for those alone feeling lost and need Go's help every day as I encounter children with extreme needs.

40 years here, it’s a lot of work and newly weds need to hear this. There’s going to be times you both want to walk away you just have to work it out talk it out. We agree when raising our kids we just didn’t take time out for just the two of us, that can be a problem.
My hubby and I are empty nesters and moved away to our vacation city!
We are also trying to reconnect. It helps so much to know we aren’t the only ones struggling to get closer and truly love each other and the Lord. Receiving the peace of Christ IS so important❤️

34 years...3 kids later. I can totally relate. Marriage is hard work. Sometimes I feel the longer your married the harder it is. You know how to push your partners buttons.There are many ups and downs..the ups are amazing and the downs make you want to give up but dont. Multiply that by hollywood and you both have extra pressure and stress. The distance alone when Billy is working and Chynna being the one to hold down the fort. Pray, pray and ask God to help you through the rough patches. It is so obvious how much you love each other. The fact that Billy initiated the prayer shows you how much he really does. ❤ 🙏
I was shedding tears as Billy was praying! The only thing I will say is if God is the "Head" of your home there is nothing you both can't get through together no matter what it is!!!
Billy’s prayer was so sweet and genuine ...just precious! My husband and I have been married for 37 years and have definitely had our ups and downs. We’ve grown together in some ways and apart in others but the Lord has held us together. Some advice my mom gave me before I got married was that we could not let our feelings run our marriage . Our commitment to Christ and each other had to be at the front. I know the times when we’ve had our lowest times was when we let our emotions and pride take the front seat. Fortunately we would stop ( like you are doing now) and talk and reset our resolve to stay together. You both have that commitment and it’s so sweet to hear Billy say it out loud that he wants it to work and to stay together. It will be a testament to your children and future grandchildren! Praying for all of us in the marriage arena. Satan wants to take us out, but the Lord is stronger. You’re right Chynna, the Lord loves marriage❤️🙏🏻

Dear Chynna and Bill, I just so appreciate you both. I am a minority on your channel here in that I am a male so have a natural inclination to see many things from Bill’s perspective. However, I am also a Christian and see the spiritual issues from Chynna’s perspective. All of this is rounded out in that my Wife and I are almost identical ages as the two of you, we have 4 young-adult children, and can relate to the very real challenges that life throws at marriage. Been married 32 years. Also been through some close calls of pulling the plug. But we somehow get through those periods time and time again. I became a Christian after we married. I changed. But my husband did not mind too much as long as I didn’t push it on him. However, the relationship with Jesus became far more deep and intimate than with my husband. Husband was working a lot. I was raising the children mostly on my own. Our relationship was strained and tested to the max. Neither of us have divorced parents or grandparents so it didn’t seem like an option to take. But we saw plenty of examples of marriages that were not so great. I’ve had to go from worldly material girl to a god girl. It is still a work in progress. All I can add to this conversation is that love is a verb, not a feeling and die to self daily is what we are to do in our walk. Your relationship with god is the same as your relationship with your spouse. Marriage is supposed to be that reflection on earth. I pray for you both. Billy prays beautifully, just being himself and honest. That’s all god expects from us. I hope he hears back in a way which he can understand. He can ask for that specifically. God bless you both.

I identify with some of the frustrations you’re experiencing. I think my husband is probably a little bit ahead of where Billy is spiritually, but he’s still not where I’m at, and so there is a place that we can’t get past because I can’t speak to him about spiritual issues in a way that I would like to. I’m guessing the issue is the same with Billy? My biggest prayer is that my husband and I would someday be aligned spiritually. It would make all the difference in our marriage.

This really is great share you & Billy have done. I've been married as long as you 2. We have many of the same issues & you've given me inspiration & direction. I do admire to Chynna for showing the world your beautiful spirit, faults, failures & Successes. I don't share the religious aspects for this big reason. I've experienced & survived SO much hipocracy. I was raised by a narcissistic mother who "claims" to be a christian. I'm in my early 60's & been lied to, manipulated & damaged by her. But in last few yrs have therapy, awareness & knowledge of this. I've had to eliminate ALL interaction with the full blood siblings I grew up with as they're caught in her toxic web. With that loss I gained a connection with my Dad & his incredible family the kind I'd always dreamed of. Was told he'd abanded me when about 5. Few yrs ago after his death learned of yrs of letters, cards he'd sent me marked Return to Sender. Never told of by my Dad who still ❤️'d & protected my wicked, nasty mother. So ironic that is was Mothers Day 3yrs ago. That day I wrote her & told her I consider her dead & Never ever contact me again! I have known in my life Only under 5 people who TRULY practice & Live as True Christians. I'm not atheist but mainstream organized religion I stay as far away from as possible. I really respect you & Billy for putting yr lives out there for us all to learn together to Do & BE Better. I like this video a lot! Billy is my favorite Baldwin brother and Chynna, I was an instant fan of Chynna Phillip's when ya'll came out with your 1st CD in the 90's. I was a sophomore in college. Thank you for making this video and speaking honestly about your marriage. Really resonated with me. I like the driving analogy. I will literally pray and close my eyes when husband drives. I figure, God has kept him alive all these years while driving on his own, why not me in the passenger seat. LOL. My husband and I are married with one child, who is now a young adult. 21 years of marriage so far by the grace of God in Christ Jesus. Had some turbulence along the way, but we're still together and I can't picture my life without him.

The wife NEEDS to be loved ( driving more cautiously when she is in car to comfort her anxiety shows love to her). The husband NEEDS respect ( showing him respect esp. before others) Marriage as you know is a commitment. No greater love is shown than that of forgiveness and agape love first ( not focusing on self love) Obviously no one should despise themselves. You both have invested so much in each other! I think since you both came from careers with high expectations, you may have brought that into your marriage. Is it possible for each of you to be home and be " the soft place to land for each other"? In my first marriage, we were married 12 years and our eldest son at 8 was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The marriage ended 3 months after his diagnosis. We were not each others " soft place to land". We had high expectations of each other to " get over it". I was blessed to have found someone who took over when I was running on empty. After 26 years, I can come home from a hard day and count on Don to just be kind, listen, and supportive with no strings attached.
I believe you two will be just fine. You talk more than any couple I know, whether in front of or not in front of the camera. You prayer together. Billy is praying. This is huge. Being together is amazingly difficult! This is the part that is worth it all. I pray that you make it through for yourselves, your family, and all your friends. I love what Billy said about finding things that bring you together in stead of focusing on the differences. Being apart is a horrible idea right now. I am speaking from 36 years from marriage where we have very few things in common.
I love this video! I know I’m a little late seeing it, but so great to see you banter back-and-forth… You are so quick-witted Chynna! Well the sense I get - being a complete outsider - is that you’re a little bit more miffed at a recent incident then Billy. I feel he potentially was in the wrong and is now coming to you for forgiveness and being humble in saying he would like things to work out and then asking you what you think.
You two really are a great couple. I pray for Billy… When he puts Jesus as number one he will 100% understand why you do. But until he is saved- he won’t have the desire or the ability to make that happen. Appreciate your honesty and can completely relate, especially the driving analogy. I have experienced the exact same driving experience and the lack of consideration and anxiety it produces. It spoils every activity we set out to do together and sours good times. Is not love being kind and considerate of one's partner's feelings? One always hears that marriage is such hard work but I think for those couples that are in sync, it isn't that hard. I can totally relate to your struggles and your exhaustion of them as well. I think that our generation mistakenly paid too much attention to our children lives at the expense of our own marriages. I think the pendulum swung too far the other way and as a result, we are left cobbling together neglected relationships that are seriously depleted and challenging. Maybe the expiration date is here and needs to be heeded. Rather than thinking that the marriage has failed, maybe it has simply run it's course and to respect the time together as a beautiful season in life but to not fight moving on. Distance, illness, a never ending pandemic have not helped for sure. Or perhaps we all need to give it one more sho given the past few years but if after a concerted effort ifthe relationship is just no longer meeting each other's needs, grant each other grace to move on while maintaining love and respect for the time you had together.

You have my prayers. As an fyi, my parents have been married for 60+ years with many ups and downs and dramas. One of their ongoing, but minor issues is over getting into the car when leaving for events. One waits in the house (to go) and the other waits in the car (to go) until both realize something is wrong and they're going to be late. Never resolved. I can't figure why it still happens.

He uses the word "Fun" & "Beautiful" pertaining to continued process of your marriage alignment. **At least your in couples therapy when he is back in town. Love that you, Chynna, brought up Narcissism which can run rampant in relationships. I attest to that in mine along with the term word you used 'love bombing' part of it all. At least it's acknowledged, Narcissist traits are like 2-faced people, meaning which side of the coin are you gonna be when you come home from work. Peace is priceless (✌️☮️)
