We've had unusually cold weather this winter so many of the plants are looking a bit sad right now. Hopefully, they will perk up soon. Have a blessed day.

The larger palms etc are uk nursery bought which are no doubt imported. The bulk of my plants however, are grown from seed or propagated myself over many years including a lot of palms

Hi DPG . I keep meaning to do an update to incorporate all the "projects" that have been done since the original garden outlay. Perhaps this summer i'll get around to it. Thanks for the interest .

Hi Jason. I had to move it last year but it didn't seem to effect it. They certainly put out some big fat roots very quickly. Hoping for some good growth this season , as its had to time to settle now

Fibre stripped my Trachy last year, they look so much more tropical in fact I think they look like a totally different species! The feather leaved palm is that a butia? mine died last winter, spear pulled out in spring and was completely water logged inside, are yours still alive? I live in Leeds, W Yorks and had a very mild winter so far, everything seems to have survived fingers crossed.

Agree, they do look very different when stripped. The feather palms are indeed butia, in fact they were odorata. Sadly both are no more and i put it down to the claggy brazilian soil that they rootball was encased in. Certainly wasn't down to cold imo. In hindsight, i wish i'd hosed it all off , i think they'd still be alive today. Keep telling myself to try again as they are stunning palms. Very mild here as well, pity about all the rain and wind but i guess we can't have it all our own way.

My Butia was Eriospatha, apparently hardiest of the Butias but they definitely don't like prolonged cold. They are beautiful palms but apparently the hardiest feather leaved palm is Jubaea chilensis which I might try this year. You have a truly stunning garden, I am very very jealous. Keep up the good work and I want an update on your garden this year lol.

lawn38 I planted a Jubaea last year, so hoping to see some growth this year. They are a slower grower though apparently
