Thank you so much for the tour! I'm just sorry I didn't see it shortly after your post. You brought back some very nice memories for me. I was stationed at Hill Air Force Base upon my return from Viet Nam 42 years ago, and lived off base, first in Ogden, on 25th St. (furtrher east, close to the foothills of the Wasatch mountains), then when our son was born, out in Clearfield, nearer the base. I left a part of my heart in Utah when we moved back home to Wisconsin, and still miss it!
the arts and crafts thing that was going down at the beging of this video was indeed a yearly event. to the locals it's called christmas village. it's when local businesses make little house that are so cute! they promote their business. it's vary fun when they hold the parade about 3 weeks before christmas, afterwords there is a firework display and then "santa" filps the swich and lights up the whole park! it is such a cool experance!
And for those who talk about crime in Ogden, well in case you haven't noticed, crime is everywhere! But Utah's beauty helps to make up for some of the bad stuff. I'll never forget our special visits to Logan Canyon, Ogden Canyon and Pineview Reservoir, and those wonderful mountains! And the Air Force recreaton area at Carter Creek was amazing! We truly enjoyed the Christmas village in the park as well. But to top it all off, the lower humidity is the best, especially in the summertime!!!
@thegame36010 you know most areas actually dont have that bad of traffic, and Im a local. sure there are definetly some areas you would want to stay away from but 25th street itself is not that bad i walk down there all the time
you should have talked about how 25th was known as a hang out place for al capone and other gangsters the st. was known as 2bit st. at that time ogden was one of the most dangerous place in the counrty along with L.A. , chicago, and new york but then it had a clean up in the 50s now the mob lays low and the city is overrun by Mexican gangs and african american gangs but not like L.A. and places like that south ogden and north ogden are the only places with no trouble
