IT's mankind's hubris and belief that we're the smartest thing that ever existed on this planet that stops us from adopting these methods. To accept that, perhaps, we didn't get it right, and that the answers were right there in front of our face the whole time, would be admitting that we've been stupid. Our collective ego is too fragile and not mature enough to do that. We still need to be "God"

It really is taking off in labs everywhere; I remember a Japanese research team that analysed the proboscis of Mosquitoes to create syringes that do not stretch the skin so much when inserted and so are much less painful.
Another team applied the surface contours of dragonfly wings to create turbines that generate less air resistance, so they extract more energy.
Biomimicry really does have solutions for everything

The great thing I notice about this video -- aside from the wonderfully uplifting information -- is that Janine Benyus pauses between sentences. That's rare on RUclips today. It seems the standard tactic is to keep up an unbroken stream of patter in order to discourage listeners from turning the video off, or hitting pause. Watch any SciShow video; you'll see what I mean.

I loved the part about nacre, which is also known as mother-of-pearl in English.
My only concern is an important one: at 7:06 the speaker says that carbon dioxide constructs shells and coral, while in fact CO2 dissolves them -- i.e. the the calcium bicarbonate parts of those organisms like their shells -- by forming carbonic acid (H2CO3) upon mixture with H2O. Correct? Therefore, the danger of ocean acidification was dismissed within the first 8 minutes of this video. I love positivity, I encourage it, yet the subject of decreasing the pH of oceans is very significant.

Yes I agree its worth watching but it should stay free to be eatched and shared only than the poor and less privileged make and have simular chances
Untill now all this info was freely available ,but watch out Google and microsoft try to take over this freedom and push limits to what we like to watch and was free
