I have the s23 ultra but people who have the s24 ultra and cant admit when another phone has some thing better is sad, the xiaomi clearly had much better macro shots its not even close
I can. I jumped from S23 U to S24 U and it's the biggest piece of crap ever. Not even an upgrade, nothing on it then S23 U couldn't have done.
@MyNameSucksBad82 I also had the update that gave me the ai stuff today from the s24u aswell which makes it seem less of a change, I really don't like that they got rid of the 10x optical either , the s24 screen is really nice though
@@MightyTubbyTuba You'd honestly never know the difference. Genuinely, I regret getting rid of the S23 U. Side by side, you'd never know the difference with the camera unless you're an expert.
But Its also More expensive than the s24 Ultra so IT makes sense its a little better in Some categories

s24 ultra can focus small object with it's tele lens. You can turn off auto switch to wide angle lens in samsung's camera assistant app. S23 can do this as well, but not so close.
I have the S22 Ultra and use the 3x lens for macro. It does a better job IMO

As an Samsung user i can say that the xiaomi 14 ultra’s camera is better but the only thing holding that phone back is the ui not gonna lie
and the ginormous camera on the back rly makes the phone unbalanced, and reverse wireless charging is nearly impossible

I switched from a 5 year old p30 pro to an S24U, overall the S24U's a much better camera, but when it comes to shooting in near dark or taking a picture of a dragon fly 5 cm away, the P30P absolutely destroys the Samsung 😮💔I wanted the S24U to be even better than my P30P, I got it from Samsung for an amazing £700 after cashback and selling the free watch, but I'm so not happy with it, the huawei in near dark is like a magic trick, it's mind blowing how good the pictures turn out ❤I wish huawei wasn't Google banned 😢

A 1:1 macro lens does not mean to preserve the proportions of the object (wtf?) it means that an object having (for FF sensor) 24x32mm will have such dimensions on this sensor. If the sensor is 1 inch diagonal then an object having 1 inch should fill that diagonal....

I am convinced that the Xiaomi outperforms its competitors; the photographs exhibit a natural quality, and the coloration remains balanced, unlike the oversaturation evident in the images produced by Samsung.
Oversaturation is Samsungs color preference. Its their thing which does attract a certain audience!!
Both are good for some shots, as I could notice S24 is better in video and front facing cam, while the other is for some pics

You can fix distortion in Lightroom like apps afterwards btw. So its not a big deal for me.
Xiaomi looks like a real photographer, while Samsung is just a phone.

I more like Vivo in photos, but like smartphone is best still Samsung, they should primarily be phones and Xiaomi is copie of Apple in price too now and Vivo has big potential but Funtouch OS is horrible, so minimal I and now still take Samsung when I want buy new phone(but last year S23U) and buy camera when I want camera.

Finally, someone said even my S9 Plus macro was easy to use. For the S22 Ultra, it's so much hassle to take macro shots.
Macro mode is on another level.. And this will make much more sense to people that are using a Dslr camera.. To not even talk about how difficult it will become to get close to an insect with the ultra wide and to have an horrible picture... With the x3 or 3.5 that many other phone like vivo has is a a game changer, the sharpness the proportion and everything...

Honest question.....Did Xiaomi got rid of the bloatware? apps like Xiaomi Security, the one I hate most? I currently own the 11T Pro and it is a nightmare to dela with....

How about the vivo X100 Ultra?
Protip for iphone, you can do this by selecting tele lens in portrait mode and getting close enough, tried 11 pro max and 15 pro, both focus at around 30cm
But i will still prefer Samsung over shady phone that has shady bloatware apps we cannot remove.
you can remove it and even add a custom rom, plus whats shady about it? Xiaomi is extremely well known

yeah that's a good feature but are you sure that telephoto camera of samsung can't do that? I have s21 fe and I use the telephoto camera for same exact purpose it works great
im owner of s24Ultra and today will come my X14ultra and I will have both, soon I going for holidays in Thailand for 2 months and I bought Xiaomi as a substitute of small camera and we see what difference for real will be, but Im pretty sure Xiaomi with photographic kit will do it way better!

Depth of field setting is important and unfortunately missing in Ultra S24
Samsung has a hard time focusing on small objects that are close, especially in video recording. It prefers to focus on the background

It really depends on what you are going to use the phone for.. Over half of the people with their newest phones, doesn't even know half the features it has, even after owning it for a year, but still "need" the next best thing .. Its kinda funny if you ask me..

I mean its not THAT big. Also its not annoying to have you never really notice it
macro 1:1 has nothing to do with proportions/perspective distortion. 1:1 macro means that the subject is represented in 1:1 ratio on the sensor. E.g a 1mm subject takes 1mm space on the sensor. You can have 1:1 macro on a 100mm lens as well as on a 50mm lens or on a 14mm for that matter... So you can't say s24 macro isn't a real macro because it uses the ultrawide... Per se both the mi14 and the s24 are not true 1:1 macro lenses and that has nothing to do with perspective distortion (proportions)
Try the macro mode with Sony Xperia 1 mark vi it's really good but I say 14 ultra looks good
If It wasn't for the OS , I Would've switched to 14 Ultra for it's superior camera setup the time it came out.
True but both cost 1500 bucks and the xiaomi can use the ultrawide for macro and has 2 tele lenses for telemacros.
All of them are high quality sensors where samsung just inserted 2 potatos as uw and tele lens :D

I have both the s23 ultra and the s24 ultra. This is true neither the 23 ultra or the 24 ultra has this feature to this level of quality. I personally still choose the 23 ultra and 24 ultra because that one feature is not so far more advanced over what my s23 ultra and s24 ultra can do. Plus both the s23 and 24 ultra are so much more than 📷. They get so much right are are useful in so many applications. You have get what works for you as an individual yet if you get any of the flagship phones today your mostly have a really great phone.

If just talking about photography, yes I would pick Xiaomi but as a daily driver, the software experience way more sophisticated on Galaxy so as a phone I still prefer Samsung.
It is very important to know how to use the 24u. Do you have the focus enhancer on? As the macro it is capable of doing with that on is better than almost anything on the market
Point and shoot! Thats how the majority will use it. Now if you want to tweak it, Xiaomi is more customizable so wins either way! Some phones are better at one thing and some better than others. Theres no perfect phone. Just appreciate the tech regardless which brand it stems from! None of these companies pay people for being fanboys!

Yes and how many people use macro shot in everyday use? The same like Telephoto I use it like 2-3 times a year on phone.
If its good enough people will use it. If its not worth using, people forget about even trying and adapt to live without it!
I use the 3 and 5 times more than the 1, and never touch the .7 on my s24u. Take a lot of pictures of animals, planes, buildings, and people look better in 3 or 5.
Honestly I assume most people who buy a phone won’t take photos of bugs but neat features

@@divinecreation6 I've watched a few comparison videos and they all disagree. The xiaomi is a great phone held back by some small problems like the built in ads everywhere and fall short of most Android phones not just the 24 ultra and iPhones. But it's not a huge gap but enough to keep in behind for the time being

I use it all the time. Probably as much or more than the regular camera. 🤷🏼♀️ It's actually a major selling point for me.

Cuz using a zoom camera as a macro camera will obviously lead to loss of quality but the s24 ultra uses it's ultra wide lense which means it gets closer which means it has more quality
And I don't think it's right to compare a 3.2x lense that was tuned for with a 3x lense that was tyned for just zoom shots
The fact that the s24 ultra record in 4k slow motion and 8k 30 at 5x zoom and 20x at 4k i cant see anything else coming close as far as camera versatility and you can remove Samsung sharpening filters to make your photos look even better Samsung still up by a mile
I'd prefer 7 years of software support and updates without Chinese bloatware to a minor camera boost.
But there are lot of things which only S24 ultra can do..either AI editing or 7 year updates and yes the high quality pics and videos are outstanding. The best part what I have experienced is , even in zoomed videos the video is clear and isn't blurry . I haven't seen anyone here in my neighborhood using 14 ultra... So can't comment about it... It depends on user what exactly one want to do with a mobile phone. S24 Ultra's processor is far ahead than other mobile phones... For office purpose it's too good. The S pen is an extra gifted advantage.

Color accuracy is better on Xiaomi.
Samsung is known for oversaturation! Which is why it looks more eye catching to most! But definitely not realistic colors.
Put it side by side with its biggest competition, the iPhone, which also goes for a natural look and the iPhone, like Xiaomi looks boring next to Samsung photos. Each to their own as to what preferences they like but Samsung is definitely not color accurate!

Fun Fact, it's actually a 2.9x lens camera, not 3.2x. don't believe me? Try zooming in 2.9x and you will see lens shifting.

In real-life experiments, Samsung has always previously other mobile phones, and Samsung's system is stable in terms of Android, frankly.
S24 ultra is full option smartphone including s pen, wireless charging, and somany other media features packed with high end camera, processor & display to kill full competition with roots.
Also resale value, repair, accessories availability etc are better.
If need compare Xiaomi features, even Vivo X100 are slightly defferent but 35% economic at same or better quality
Not wise to invest even $400 on a xiaomi smartphone, let alone $1k+

Ja tu żadnego macro nie zauważyłem. Mnie przy makro interesuje, żeby przeczytać opis na ukladach SMD, lub innych tabliczkach urządzeń automatyki bez zbędnej gimnastyki.
Krótko mówiąc robisz max zoom cyfrowy, zbliżasz na 4cm, AF i wtedy można owadom w oczy zaglądać.
