The quick little burns and letting it fall 1-3 ft from the bottom is always my favorite. That or a just a steady slow jig and retrieve, I’m just learning the jig bite but it’s working when they don’t want anything flashy.
Speaking of California...I'm from Cali and I just got back from Wisconsin fishing the Milwaukee River. Caught a ton of Smallmouth and some Pike. Was a trip of a lifetime! Wisconsin is a place to go to for fishing action.
🍺Thanks Matt. I appreciate the effort/time it takes to make the on the water videos. 👍I enjoy them.🤠I know you won’t be able to do them later in the year due to weather,🥶so for now, we both can enjoy. Win win . 🤠
Yup, I always thread my trailers 'sideways' on my swim jigs. It more mimics a sunfish, I think. I was throwing a swim jig today along seams on a hydrilla flat. Caught a few nice spots and a couple largies.
Perfect timing as we get to the later part of the year it tends to thin out the pleasure boaters and jet skis and I can try to fish some deeper water without getting run over!
You should do a video on 2d, sonar, and side imaging. How to read different things, what fish, what's bait, what certain compositions types look like, ect.
Great video Matt, I absolutely love the swim jig but I must admit I dont fish them quit that deep but you Sir have opened my eyes and Im going to start fishing themm a little deeper, you gotta love those Dirty Jigs!!!
That video makes me think that an heavy swimjig good be a lot better option than a swing head jig to go deeper ( always stock ) . Thank you Matt for that video !
Great video Matt! Love your on the water segments! You're lucky to live on a lake with quality bass that are always biting! LoL. You sure do make it look easy. I've actually never utilized a swim jig before. I'll give it a try. I've mostly used the old school type jigs Blauket talks about. Good stuff!!!
Matt-Another great video. You caught the little pike who jumped off. You ran your fingers over the line to check for damage but never verbalized it. I have chain pickerel where I live and need to do something similar. Be well my friend
I'd love to know if you ever catch them on highland reservoirs like table rock with a swim jig outside of the spawn? I've only had really awesome days with it on grass lakes
You just had that deps bullflat on an episode. They make the little 3 inch size. The profile of that bait looks good but do you think the tail has enough action as swim jig trailer?
Thanks Matt. I have been throwing swim jigs all year. The deep realm I haven't explored yet but can't wait. Do you ever pull your weed gaurds for better hook ups? I don't miss many but deep on a long cast could be interesting. I don't have deep grass so I am not sure if it will be productive but there's something about swim jigs I love um and Boy do you feed the fire so thanks again from fan.
Swim jigs are my go to and my confidence bait at the moment. I've. Been fishing the hack attack heavy cover swim.jig by strike king in the bluegill color 3/8 with a zako style bass pro shops swimbait in green pumpkin as my trailer. And I've been fishing it slowly along rip rap areas like paralleled with the bank like a bluegill that's just wandering along mindlessly and it's been doing great here in Ohio. I've been looking for a bigger rounder profile and I've tried your way with the pit boss along with several others the menace twin tail grub sideways is sweet looks like a young fish but not minnow size because of the skirt material. Love me some swim jiggin. Peace out Matt ✌️
I have three lunkerhunt swimbait in white, blue gill and perch without any luck on them. I bought two ratlin strike king jigs. I fish from the riverbank, can I use these jigs like a football jig with the rattle on it. Did I waste $11 dollars for nothing
I have never caught a fish on a jig or a Texas rigid worm I try everytime I go out with no success I'll spend hours trying no luck switch to a weighted wacky rig for deeper water unweighted for shallow water and crank bait or a lipless that seems to be the only way I can catch a fish I know I'm not doing something right but I'm going to keep trying till I figure it out
Limit your Texas rig fishing to cover and high percentage areas. Do not peg your weight unless you have to and use a 3/16oz bullet weight. Keep your worm under 7". That will get you bit and confidence to experiment with weights, baits and places, don't give up. Sorry I am not Matt but I do throw alot of worms. Netbait T Mac is a great straight tail.

Anywhere in the Midwest is easy
wisconsin is great!
Chain of lakes in lake county Illinois is hot too
Great video!!! Like watching and learning!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!
Awesome!

Haha! i try to get them in before the winter hits.
@@MattStefanFishing Do you us a polarized lens on your camera?
Another top shelf video! Really enjoy the POV fishing action! 👍
Glad you enjoyed
I get way more from the on the water retrieve and presentation videos. Solid stuff Matt
i try to do a bunch
you was lighting um up .Appreciate as always. 59 60 in the mornings down here.
Rock on!

Nice!
Great on the water video! I mostly fish swim jigs in shallow water. I will have to try this.
give it a try!

Couldn't agree more!
Great tip Matt. Thanks for the video. Keep crankin them out!!!
Thanks! Will do!
I’ve always assumed that a swim jig would work out deep, but just have never gotten around to trying it. Thanks for the confidence!👍🏼
go for it!
Great video. From Ohio and have had a tough time catching them the last couple weeks. Going to try the cali swim jig this weekend. Thanks Matt
Have fun!
I've been doing well with it in Ohio. Especially along the rip rap banks paralleled with the bank. Slow rolling it.
Nice! Going to have to give it a try in the Midwest. Thanks for the share!
Have fun!
I never consider that rigging on the pitboss, super clever, thanks!
give it a try!
Great video, swim jig fishing is how I got started on bass fishing. Any time someone got tips I listen. Thanks for sharing
Glad to help
You should do a video on 2d, sonar, and side imaging. How to read different things, what fish, what's bait, what certain compositions types look like, ect.
its on my list of video topics to do. thanks for the suggestion!
Great video Matt, I absolutely love the swim jig but I must admit I dont fish them quit that deep but you Sir have opened my eyes and Im going to start fishing themm a little deeper, you gotta love those Dirty Jigs!!!

Just caught this one Matt. Really a great looking lake! Thanks for another great video.
it was a fun day!

you bet!
Love a swim jig, Matt. Nice one
thanks!

i am gonna get one i think it will be perfect for winter when I am dragging a jig around
sounds good to me!

Be well my friend
always checking my line with toothy critters around!
Great video thanks
thanks for watching!
Enjoy you podcast Matt
thanks!
Good stuff Matt.
Thanks!
Great content Matt, for some reason I have better luck slow cranking my swim jigs (I think our shallow water ). Thanks Matt
stick with what works for you!
That's how I've had the best luck with them too. Slow roll sometimes i might make a twitch or two but slow is key. I'm in Ohio. Shallow lakes here.
I'd love to know if you ever catch them on highland reservoirs like table rock with a swim jig outside of the spawn? I've only had really awesome days with it on grass lakes
Yes sir! Jonny shcultz and I just wacked them on table rock back in August fishing deep and shallow. I think hes going to do a video on it.
You just had that deps bullflat on an episode. They make the little 3 inch size. The profile of that bait looks good but do you think the tail has enough action as swim jig trailer?
nope...maybe as a chatterbait trailer
Thanks Matt. I have been throwing swim jigs all year. The deep realm I haven't explored yet but can't wait. Do you ever pull your weed gaurds for better hook ups? i will pull the weedguards at times but not around grass.
So glad you respond to questions, that's why I watch. You ever fish the Chesapeake look me up I'll put you on some.
Quick question, do you fish live scope type graphs?
i have active target compatible graphs
What's reason to reel fast instead of stroking
I love stroking thanks and good fishing
i like to reel it to keep it swiming through the weeds stalks
Thanks
Is that on the Wisconsin River up by you?
nope that was up north

What’s the reason for dipping the lure in the water before you cast
probably had a small piece of weed on it i was getting off
What do you think of using grubs as trailers?
work great!
My favorite bait:) 👍
its a good one!
What are your thoughts on the changes ?
They are terrible!
First one in! Jigs for life!! Thanks man, enjoy that breakfast!
Lol 😆
Awesome!
Fish on 👍
You know it!
Literally just caught my new PB on Saturday using a 3/4 swimjig in 25 feet.
AWESOME!
Thanks for your tidbits… I’m always like… why did I not think of that.
haha!

you can give it a try!
@@MattStefanFishing I will try it on my next trip out. We have strong winds from the west for a few days here in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada
@@MattStefanFishing I just thought of using the ratlin jigs in small hopping motion on the bottom stead of dragging it from breaking the rattle off
🎉
Thanks for watching
Damn man I gotta get a boat
it helps with fishing
👍👍👍
