Jamie, in regard to the concentrated solution cartridge......I drill a 7mm hole in the top of the cartridge, use a small funnel from a Radio Controlled hobby shop (they use them for filling up the liquid fuel) and a pencil rubber cover (goes over the tip of the pencil) - or gaffer tape across it - this is to stop the fluid escaping should the dock be moved. You can use any similar artefacts but essentially, drill a hole, pop the funnel in, fill with your favourite concentrated cleaner, plug/cover the hole ; voila , save yourself tons of money on replacements. Before using wash out thoroughly to ensure bits of plastic from drilling are removed. The filter on the outlet will stop any offending bits but best to make it as clean as possible beforehand. EDIT:: The newer cartridges have a blanking/locating cap cover at the top. Just remove this, no need to drill .

I read that Zeb Zeb had a problem filling the internal water tank. I know it wasn't the scale that caused the problem, but in the long run it could be clogging the small pipes. Might it be worth using deionized or carbon-filtered water?
I have read many people having trouble filling the water tank initially. This is due to air in the system that needs to be primed out. I did not have this issue. The fix for it is they should prime at factory it or program it to be primed. I have not had issues at all just using tap water, but water can cause scale to build up on any device.
Hi, Do you have any experience about the Dreame's duration? I am considering the Dreame l10s Ultra and the roborock maxv ultra 7. But I dont know the duration of Dreame? I hope i can works well for 5 years if possible!!
I have not had any major issues except one and I got it sorted out. Dreametech as a company does not have as good of a reputation for quality as Roborock does and the price sort of reflects that. If it is an occasional usage in a small to medium size home Dreame should be fine. I am still using the vacuum in my home daily trung to see if issues surface and so far none have.
@Hai Dinh Dreametech has not been around long enough for me to tell you 5 years. I could only say that about Roborock and iRobot and really it mostly comes down to how well the user takes care of their robot too.
I wonder if the robovac/mop design engineer ever thought of slowing down the robot if doing mopping? that would help to mop more thorough . the robot should have two different speed or 3 different speed, speed for only vacuuming, speed for vacuum/mop combined or speed for mopping only! Which there is no information about that!
Some vacuum mop combos have a back and forth Y pattern like the recent iLife T10s I reviewed. I really like this type of back and forth scrubbing since it mimics what you do with a mop. What Roborock does is allow you to make mor passes over the stains by switching to deep plus mopping mode.
Do NOT buy this robot if you want it to mop more than 6m2! I just discovered a new problem that is a deal breaker. I will return the robot because of this! The internal water tank is to small!! It can't even mop the kitchen without running out of water. (About 12m2) I've tried all 3 settings. So Dreame will have to put their engineers back to work.
@@Tottorul in the app you can choose if the robot should clean the pads after every room or by area, between 10-35m2. Would you buy a vacuum bot if it had to return to the station 5 times to clean 12m2???
I have not had this problem myself, but I schedule it to go back to the dock every 10m to wash rhe mopping pads. I also select the medium level for water flow. I believe Dreame states the water tank should cover about 2k square feet. Are you certain your water tank is being filled up?
It does have a small water tank that it refills at the begining of the mopping job. I set mine to go back and clean the mopping pads every 10 square meters which has worked well for me. I have not experienced the problem Zeb stated. I will check with other RUclipsrs and respond if they have.
Great in depth, meassured based and even long-term test ! So many things I haven't seen tested in other videos on the robot, and I watched dozens of the most popular! Great Job, keep it up!
Can you please do a test on mirrors? I've had a robot vacuum and mop, and it goes haywire everytime there's a big mirror in front of it. I need a robot vacuum and mop for our big dance studio, which has big mirrors. I've seen a discussion on reddit that the new roborock s7 max v, still has this issue. I'm hoping to find out if the competition also has an issue registering mirrors. THANK YOU!
This unfortunately will be an issue for any robot with lidar because the mirror reflects the laser and the robot does not get a signal back. Low windows that are openwithout shades can cause the same issue. The only way to fix it is to cover the mirrors or get a robot that uses VSLAM instead like iRobot, or Yeedi. I have tested the Yeedi Vac 2 on my channel. Take a look at it. I will be reviewing the iRobot Roomba Combo soon as well.
Picked one up yesterday at sale for 950$, love all the features but the price for the cleaning solution is silly. Is there actually any risk of damaging the robot or the base station using another solution, or is it just a scare tactic from Dreame? What should I look for in another brand of floor cleaner that doesn't do any damage?
I suspect you could buy a bottle of Dreame Floor Cleaning solution on Amazon and fill this up with that or use a different type of solution like Bona. I am tracking how much use I get out of a bottle and will report back with a RUclips Short video.
@@TheEfling im using a Karcher solution made for a Karcher wet mopper but i use it on my S7 plus. They all have the same pump system principles and materials so pick a good one from any brand and you will be fine.
Almost 2 months have passed since the video was first shown. Has a firmware update been released? If so, has there been any improvement in avoiding objects?
Thank you for the great review! I just have one question, would the bot still vacuum and mob the floor even when the cleaning fluid cartridge is empty or not present? Thanks!
Yea I have seen another person have that issue. I think they had to prime the system by repeating the washing and filling process a few times to clear air from the system. If you long hold on the home button it will put water on the base. The second time you hold it down it will remove the water so repeat until you see water. Filling the on-board water tank may take a few times as well.
Here are more specifics: in the dreamehome settings app, more settings, plug version, click 10 times, click self-repair of the base, and try again you should see drops of water, both in the connector, and in the water charging part on the back of the robot, if not, try base self-repair again and if not, remove the detergent and the deposit of dirty water and with a straw press the water connector of the base and subcion until it comes out once the robot comes out it will load water by itself,
My experience with this robot: - mops quite well - detergent container is a great idea which I'd love to see on other vacuums - it is a bit more aggressive with pushing chairs than my older deebot (this issue is not substantial and send to have mostly abated by itself) - the dreame app has some limitations, e.g. there's a limit on how small a no-go zone can be made which made it hard to protect my cat's dishes without leaving a too big area next to them without mopping - splitting areas on the map doesn't always succeed, is very finicky All in all, very pleased by it, improvements is live would be: - an algorithm like in stone deebot vacuums that would allow the robot to make a pass next to the walls with the side where the mops protrude past the housing do that there would be complete mopping coverage (resolved in dreame x20 but differently, its mops swing out further) - louder speaker on the unit, the max volume is quite low - a refillable built-in track for the detergent maybe, though the removable cartridge is also refillable as it is - optical connection to the mains and plumbing (also available on the x20) - water preheating (also available on the x20) - larger water and waste water tanks - light for better object recognition in the dark (also available on the x20). So the x20 seems a good upgrade but who knows when it appears for the global market, one can get a Chinese version but that is region locked and overcoming it is a big hassle with no guarantees it keeps working in future
I stumbled upon this video late last night and noticed the Robot was on sale for $675. I missed the deal, but I can't believe how much this has dropped in price in the past 12 months.
thanks for this review ! i try to make the dock self cleanning and pressing the home botton for 3 sec, ut it does notworking. can you please help me with that?
The main benifits are lifting mopping pads, detergent injection and obstacle avoidance. If those are important to you then sure. I no longer use the W10, but still used the L10s up until the L20 arrived.
I have issue with mine L10s Ultra when it docks. It backs up once and is almost in place. Then it slides down forward maybe 10 cm and backs up again and finally docks with water inlet and charging. Is this intended? Did you experience the same docking behavior?
@Jamie Andrews or anybody else that has tried the L10s. Do you experience a kind of ticking sound from the rubber brush while it's cleaning? Almost like a piece of paper is stuck to the rubber brush.
OK, you have my attention. One last question, Can you tell us how it did traveling over transitions? My Roborock vacuum easily rolls over all of my room transitions strips, (I guess they are taller then normal(?) but my IRobot M6 mop refuses, it turns around.
I did not have an issue, but transitions are tricky and the is a reason I do not test them in my videos. Transitions are not always the same. Some are made of different material than the floor, some are oddly shaped, etc. What I can tell you is Dreame say it can handle up to 2cm. The M6 is horrible with transitions.
One additional question: Is it possible to use the middle "soap" tank and fill in your own solution ? Not a fan of some unknown chemical. PS: Maybe object detection has issues on your carpet because of its pattern?
You could modify to use your own but I have not yet tested this. Could be my carpet, but my results are similar to other testers and I also test off camera in other parts of my home too. More real life stuff.
Another robot vacuum youtuber to watch just my luck! Im waiting for the day someone comes up with a self empty bin that has clean water and dirty water hook ups to your pipes! Also waiting for non-dustbag to be the norm
Thanks! Glad you found my channel! The clean and dirty water hookups may be here soon. Not so sure about the dust bags becoming the norm. I find the best option is to give people the choice as I have found many people who also prefer bags. The dock that does this is the Auto Empty Dock from Roborock.
Spinning mops in general are not better in my testing, but this robot changed my mind that a spinning mopping pad can be as good if not better. Roborock has a deep mopping mode which gives it an edge. Roborock has the best software on the market.
I have not tested fine dust, but most robots handle that pretty good. I have cats that scatter cat litter all over the place and fine dust is part of that and I have not had any issues.
Another great review. I always watch your vids Jamie and you have a rather posh US-English accent (I'm from London and my accent is certainly not posh). Tell me, your runner carpet on the wy to your bedroom, how does the Dreame do with that in terms of vac given there is only a small margin of floor around the runner.
My fatter was born in Liverpool and raised in Canada so I have a bit of roots to over there. I have not seen a vac do well in that area, even the Roborock with a full floating roller deck. I have to pull the runner up every few weeks to clean and mop the floor anyway so it is not a huge deal. Thanks for your support!

Well the water tanks are still small, but I don't think that is the biggest con. The only other con that has not been resolved it it stopping long enough to lift the mopping pad before carpet. Hi Jamie, any idea why the centre of the mop pads don’t get cleaned very well? I’m still trying to work out why - is the x1 Omni any better? They appear to have a similar mop cleaning design.
Hi Jamie, could you please do a comparison video of the obstacle avoidance in the dark? Especially with objects like slippers, sandals, or stray wires. S7 MaxV has fill light to help to see better small and low objects in the dark, the older S6 MaxV has its own unique IR camera just like any surveillance cameras to see well in the dark. I need to know how well X1 Omni and L10s Ultra will avoid small and low objects in the dark, because I scheduled my robot to clean at dawn every weekdays before sunrise, so once I wake up and got out from bedroom the floor is already cleaned.
Was wondering the same. The S7 has a light that turns on when it's dark so it can see and avoid things better. The L10s doesn't seem to have any lights so wondering if it's performance in the dark ends up being subpar?
Great suggestion and funny thing is I was thinking about this tonight before your comment. I totally forgot to mention the light on the S7 MaxV. I will test in dark, however I have yet to figure out how to film it.
@@FatCatHash Yes, I agree with this suggestion. Perhaps it can be recorded using cam with IR such as IP cam. To trigger the light on S7 MaxV to be on doesn't necessarily in pitch black environment. Dimly lit, low or minimum lights in the room will do.

(About 12m2)
I've tried all 3 settings.
So Dreame will have to put their engineers back to work.
I thought it didnt have a water tank, it does?
Cant you just make it return to the dock about 5 times?
@@Tottorul in the app you can choose if the robot should clean the pads after every room or by area, between 10-35m2. Would you buy a vacuum bot if it had to return to the station 5 times to clean 12m2???
@@Sailor_Zeb quite possibly yes if 5 times for a floor of cleaning xD Thanks for the answer
Io non sono sodisfatta , soldi spesi male, non è così come parlano👎👎👎
Can you tell me what issues you are having?
Great in depth, meassured based and even long-term test ! So many things I haven't seen tested in other videos on the robot, and I watched dozens of the most popular! Great Job, keep it up!
Glad you liked it!
Yes an in depth comparison review between this and the Roborock. I was completely sold on the Roborock until I saw this. 😮
I am tracking how much use I get out of a bottle and will report back with a RUclips Short video.
whered you get for $950?

No firmware yet. Nobody releases firmware as fast as Roborock.

Thank you for the great review! I just have one question, would the bot still vacuum and mob the floor even when the cleaning fluid cartridge is empty or not present? Thanks!
Yes it will.
Can you compare to Ecovacs Deboot x1 omni?
I have already had enough comments on this video to warrant a comparison so yes! Look for that video soon!
Yes please compare the roborock and ecovac with this one! And will you do it with the roborock extra pad drying piece added too?
Yes I sure will. Keep an eye out for the video very soon!
Hey, just bought mine. Have an issue: the mops dont get wet and it uses no water from the clean water tank. Any ideas?
Yea I have seen another person have that issue. I think they had to prime the system by repeating the washing and filling process a few times to clear air from the system. If you long hold on the home button it will put water on the base. The second time you hold it down it will remove the water so repeat until you see water. Filling the on-board water tank may take a few times as well.
Also read here: www.reddit.com/r/Dreame_Tech/comments/yalr0h/dreame_l10s_ultra_no_water_flow/
Here are more specifics: in the dreamehome settings app, more settings, plug version, click 10 times, click self-repair of the base, and try again you should see drops of water, both in the connector, and in the water charging part on the back of the robot, if not, try base self-repair again and if not, remove the detergent and the deposit of dirty water and with a straw press the water connector of the base and subcion until it comes out once the robot comes out it will load water by itself,
@@jamie.andrews Thx a lot! Had to try several times, but in the end the straw trick did it. Works fine now, thank you
My experience with this robot:
- mops quite well
- detergent container is a great idea which I'd love to see on other vacuums
- it is a bit more aggressive with pushing chairs than my older deebot (this issue is not substantial and send to have mostly abated by itself)
- the dreame app has some limitations, e.g. there's a limit on how small a no-go zone can be made which made it hard to protect my cat's dishes without leaving a too big area next to them without mopping
- splitting areas on the map doesn't always succeed, is very finicky
All in all, very pleased by it, improvements is live would be:
- an algorithm like in stone deebot vacuums that would allow the robot to make a pass next to the walls with the side where the mops protrude past the housing do that there would be complete mopping coverage (resolved in dreame x20 but differently, its mops swing out further)
- louder speaker on the unit, the max volume is quite low
- a refillable built-in track for the detergent maybe, though the removable cartridge is also refillable as it is
- optical connection to the mains and plumbing (also available on the x20)
- water preheating (also available on the x20)
- larger water and waste water tanks
- light for better object recognition in the dark (also available on the x20).
So the x20 seems a good upgrade but who knows when it appears for the global market, one can get a Chinese version but that is region locked and overcoming it is a big hassle with no guarantees it keeps working in future
Thanks for sharing! That really helps!
I stumbled upon this video late last night and noticed the Robot was on sale for $675. I missed the deal, but I can't believe how much this has dropped in price in the past 12 months.
That is an incredible deal. It is because the L20 Ultra uis out.
thanks for this review !
i try to make the dock self cleanning and pressing the home botton for 3 sec, ut it does notworking.
can you please help me with that?
Try doing it a few more times as air is likely trapped in the system.
just got l10s ultra for 500$, I think its the best purchase
I ordered this robot... I think its a good helper.. arrived today by Amazon for 899 euro
Hope you like it!
I have a Dreame W10 already and only use it for mopping. Worth the upgrade to L10S Ultra only for mopping?
The main benifits are lifting mopping pads, detergent injection and obstacle avoidance. If those are important to you then sure. I no longer use the W10, but still used the L10s up until the L20 arrived.
I have issue with mine L10s Ultra when it docks. It backs up once and is almost in place. Then it slides down forward maybe 10 cm and backs up again and finally docks with water inlet and charging. Is this intended? Did you experience the same docking behavior?
Yes it can do that as it may need to reposition if it did not go in perfect. This is by design and I have seen other robots do this as well.
@Jamie Andrews or anybody else that has tried the L10s. Do you experience a kind of ticking sound from the rubber brush while it's cleaning? Almost like a piece of paper is stuck to the rubber brush.
I have noticed a bit of ticking from mine as well. It has not gotten worse in my many months of testing. I assume it is normal.
Would you suggest this over the newly released Roborock Q Revo? They’ve now comparable street prices. Thanks.
I plan to do a head to head video very soon.
Love to see it up against the Roborock s7 Ultra
Thanks!
Is this one the newest Robot Vacuum in the market? It seems like the most expensive one after black Friday.
It is the newest Ultra robot vacuum. I do have a discount code in the description.
The dock that does this is the Auto Empty Dock from Roborock.
i just cant decide between this and roborock s7, i do feel like the spinning mops are better, but roborock seems to have better software
Spinning mops in general are not better in my testing, but this robot changed my mind that a spinning mopping pad can be as good if not better. Roborock has a deep mopping mode which gives it an edge.
Roborock has the best software on the market.
How did you found out that holding home button will fill station? There is no any word about it in my manual.
Just messing around I think.
Next you should do rounding Eva and then lydsto w2 and then maybe compare them all.

One more question, what about fine dust? Does it clean up the dust on the floor, any thoughts about that or a way to test it?

If object avoidance in dark is important the S7 MaxV should be best. Personally I always vacuum with lights on, but I know other people may not.
