I agree with you. Got white braid marked off at 100' intervals on my reels. Also marked off the 50' intervals as well. 100'= 1 black mark, 200'=2 black marks, etc... 50'= 1 red mark. Pare Andrew welcome back. Try hollow core braid from Jerry Brown. You will have a clean splice without a knot to worry about as a possible place for losing a fish. Then put a top shot of metered line that changes color every 30 feet. You will be happy I promise. 👍🏽

You might want to consider upgrading the handle knobs to T-bar knobs. It makes a huge difference. It helps to put more torque when turning the handle.
