Have you guys thought about a 7.5 tonne truck? One with a, tail lift would allow you to put the bikes in the actual vehicle so more secure, you'd have lots more living space inside and it would be a lot shorter vehicle and more manouverable. Removal trucks are a great base to start from if you fancy that.

You guys are absolutely inspirational! I bought a cbr600f to improve my mental health, now it’s just sat in my dining room. This has definately given me a kick up the arse to get out exploring

HI Guys, great video as always. Mitch, the part on the bike where the fuel and air mix is the carburettor (you probably knew that but couldn't get the words out). Martha, loving the new hair cut. Looking forwards to next weeks, good luck and stay Jammy!

I wouldn't ride all the way to Yorkshire dales on the bikes. It's just increasing risk and too difficult to plan, which not all trails correctly marked on maps. Again, I'd just book into a site with the trailer and just do the trails from there. I think the air filter is a sponge inside, which you very lightly soak with oil (not too much). For future reference, once your bikes are getting hard to start with clean plugs, it will be your valve clearances which need re-shimming (thinner shims) and that should be covered as part of your service schedule. Once shimmed to the minimum thickness of shim, then it's a head rebuild but thats a way off yet for you guys.

Great vlog, hard to watch your disappointment, but it’s the reality that draws me in. Hope the Bike’s ok and looking forward to the trip.

Hi, great vids. I too am looking to move out of my house and into a van in the near future. You inspire me so keep up the good work.
Looks like it’s only alittle build up of condensation that causes the water in the cupboards. Completely normal when cooking in vans. Only because your build looks too good to be leaking in from that skylight vent.
    😊

Thats a kick in the teeth, plans had to change. but better to find it out now then in the middle of the dales. Look forward to you adventures up there.

Good luck with the fix! Worst case scenario you can always ziptie and gafftape the faulty part and keep on riding 😆

Have you guys considered making your bed rise and make a garage that fits 2 bikes in the back of the van and then drop the bed once you finished storing the bikes?

Wow that’s a long rig . Might be worth looking up Dave Cooper in Kent (I think Sidcup area) he custom builds bike racks for bikes up to 600cc. I’m sure he could build you a double rack for your van although you may have to beef up your van’s suspension. I’m still loving your adventure.😘

complete bike noob speaking rn - But have u guys thought about mapping out your routes that went successfully and selling them as a package to other adventurers? Like when people sell meal plans or workout guides. Obs i could just be explaining something that already exists but might have been a sneaky way of making ££

    • @TheJammyGits
      @TheJammyGits  7 месяцев назад

We’d love to share them in the future for sure, got a lot more practise to get forming the routes but if that’s something people would be interested in we’d do it 😃

That life, the more you have, the more you compromise.
Theres something to be said about having a BASE, having somewhere to go to, to clean the bikes, escape the tin can van, full time van life is suffocating, it may look cool in a 20min youtube video, but the reality is far from it......Grim at best !
    Anyway, good effort so far.

Nightmare. 5 minutes of dirt and sand getting into the engine can age the valves by 100,000 miles.

unhitch trailer in car park then park van next to it, you'll take up 2 spots but oh well. i would get rid of some of those after market parts, not as reliable as the OEM parts. 4 day trip that's gonna be challenging looking forward to that video... ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ
