Your garden looks so lovely in the morning light despite the weather. I am amazed at the amount of beans you've harvested. How wonderful for you. I'm so happy for you. I love the candle holder you sold....lucky buyer.... I have to tell you that when you first held up the fabric with the water/lighthouse/sailboat, I immediately thought "curtains" AND the good thing is curtains don't need to be washed and pressed every week (at least I don't!) and then you wouldn't have to deal with pressing that ornery fabric. So much I could write about today's posting but you have better things to do than read my thoughts! Enjoyed this post very much, seeing your daily living type of work. Marsha
I loved this Vivi - especially your walk through your allotment field. So nice that you get to see so many other plots as you walk to yours. I so enjoy doing this. Don't envy you the pressing of the boat fabric. You certainly put a shift in girl! More power to your elbow.
Those little cake plates are beautiful. The small scales are so handy I have 2 sets. Mine have a clip on lid so I can weigh something out in advance put the lid on and store it in the fridge instead of having to use another container.
Funny you mention that dress, lol. While I watched you wearing it, I was wearing the same one, but in a coral/orange colour. I also got mine at a charity shop $4 CAD, and it still had the tags on which said $70. Such a nice chatty day in the life video. Thanks.
Lovely vlog of your day Vivi! When you walked through the plots and came to yours, it looks so neat and tidy and well loved. Lots of lovely broad beans to keep you going through to next year! Love that fabric, ideal for a bathroom or kitchen, hope its not too long before you get to move and not have all those stairs to climb anymore. Take care lovely! xxx
Hey, darlin’! Lovely vid- so cool to see different parts of your cottage in the sky, even those nasty stairs! I also love that you have the neatest, tidiest plot as you were walking towards the path! Of course you do... 😃 btw, watching your video is the very first I did once starting my summer vacation!! Perfect start! This video is great- we get to see the ‘everyday grind’... perfect for those naysayers who think your feet are up and you’re living the life of Riley! Take that, trolls! 😂 looking forward to part 2! 🥰
Oh Vivi, those stairs! My knees were cracking just watching you get up them. I'm 37 this September and my knees are crap when going up the stairs, I feel for you. That ground floor flat is looking pretty good for you right now. Your garden is looking so lush now with all the rain 😊
Hi Viv, I have been watching all your vlogs past and present - brilliant and so inspiring. Love your friends Paul and Richard and your lovely allotment friends & their cats. You have a lovely family and your Mom is wonderful so like you. Hope all your days and years will bring you nothing but happiness and. enjoyment. Stay safe and healthy. Real fan Pat xx
Hahaha, thank you lovely....the shed is my home-from-home......I had to make it nice and comfy for those days when the rain comes out of nowhere and I need a place to hide.
You had me smiling to myself by 39 seconds in. Your washing machine was bleeping, mine does too. You were groaning as you bent down to the washing machine, I do too! The gardening allotments were just massive. I did not realise the site was that huge. I have to say your plot looked the tidiest out of the lot. I live in a Victorian house and the ceilings are 9ft 3 ins from the floor = Huge curtains. I hope when you move you find something suitable. Lovely vlog as always and I hope you got done what you planned and got the beans sorted out.
I wish I'd listened to you about getting up the garlic before the heavy rain. I lifted mine yesterday and many of them had started to split. Oh well, it was still a good harvest. I'm in awe of your broad bean harvest. I don't think I'll have too much trouble carrying mine home 😂
So much love and gratitude for you Vivi. You exude love and energy and I find your videos so comforting and inspiring. And then I visited your shop and oh my! That did something to my soul! 😍 Thank you for sharing your skills and spirit with us, it helps me tremendously🙏❤️🙏 Steph ❤️
ooooooh The book on superstitions of british isles i want it - perfect resource for my art work based on superstitions and floklore and common sayings!! I will have to watch the shop like a hawk and try and get it!! Your flat reminds me of the top floor flat i had in Lewisham on Courthill Road! Oh sometimes i miss London so much but then again here in sunny Scotland I get to have a 4 bed cottage with a huge garden and be mortgage free so i cannot complain lol x Love the vlog today
Thank you so much Carol. Oh I love the fabric too....but...by golly it was a devil to press so whatever I make it into will need to be something that doesn't need washing too often! 😉
Lovely fabric Vivi. I noticed that the size of your granny trolley is about the capacity of a backpack, maybe give that a try, it might be easier on your knees. Yay for your super bean harvest! 👏
❤ I really enjoyed watching this Vivi. As I said before, inspiring. I have a Pfaff sewing machine which has sat idle for a very long time. I'm going to get it serviced and start again. Doing what I don't yet know but that is part of the fun.
Love the video, I’ve just knit myself a lovely cotton dishcloth with cotton from my wool stash. Small things feel like big wins in a thrifty life. Looking forward to part two xx

Your garden is fabulous Vivi !! We are a bit behind here in the north with the garden but it has been a good growing season so far. Love your videos so very enjoyable💗
Hiya Vivi Thankyou soo enjoyed today’s visit and chat with you. Really appreciate your time. Kinda had to laugh, as I watched while wearing my linen dress ,that is in a need of an iron badly! You could have done for me lol! I felt that I was there with you in the moment if that makes sense? Wish that I could purchase out of your shop would love a bunting. However I understand the postage concerns it’s the same here. Anywhoo Thankyou again and I look forward to seeing you soon blessings Ontario Canada 🐝
Hi Vivi.....when I was a girl my granny was afflicted with severe arthritis in her knees and ankles. She used to SIT to iron.....on a wooden chair with the legs cut down to the appropriate height for her ironing board. No standing to iron for her!
I usually have GOLD UK blaring away to do the boppy wash ! What a harvest of broad beans!!... Love it when a plan comes together . Great now the charity shops are open again for a good mooch. I got a lovely pair of linen striped pants in the supermarket £4.70.. when I got them home , one leg was shorter than the other ( probably why they were so reduced.) .... sewing machine out and sorted very happy.
I've been hearing from friends about your crazy high temps at the moment....I hope it passes quickly and everyone stays safe and well in the meantime. Take care!
Good morning Vivi! 🌞You have a lovely kitchen, I think I mentioned it before 😅 Your garden beds are so tidy. I struggle with keeping the forrest plants out of my garden, and have more or less given up, I cut it , it is green! What a huge harvest of beans! I harvested my first strawberries yesterday! The best I have tasted! 🍓🍓🍓They didnt even make it in to the house, I ate them all! 😂The print on the fabric, with the boats would make wonderful nautical inspired pot holders for example. In fact, I was looking in your shop to see if you got any, not the nautical theme, but floral, but you didnt - please make some - I will buy them! 👍
Busy, busy day!! :) I really don't know how to do those stairs. Honestly! I hope this year goes quickly just so you can get closer to moving to a first floor apartment. That sailboat/lighthouse fabric is so pretty and would definitely make lovely curtains. BTW... you have a wonderful summer glow to your skin. :)
Hallo hallo vivi... love this day in the life and I so understand the morning thing... I have a silly body that takes hours to get going ... with a dodgy hip and shoulder... and all the other poop my nearly 40 year old body throws at me lol Can't wait for more 😊 Keep smiling 😃samantha
My onions are laying flat, they've been battered down by the winds and rain earlier in the year, do you think they'll produce anything worth eating or have they had it ?
Ooh, lovely rain. I could do with that this week. We have a heat warning here. A dangerous long duration heat wave will affect B.C. beginning on Saturday and lasting until Tuesday. Threat: Daytime highs ranging from 35 to 40 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows of 20 to 22 degrees Celsius. So I'm staying indoors with the AC on. Except today I have to go into town for my second jab. That metal thingy looks familiar. I bought something like it a couple of months ago. It's a solar light, and made with much flimsier metal. I dented it already. Oof, you wouldn't catch me ironing. I hang my shirts to dry on a metal wardrobe thingy, and they stay there until I wear them. No ironing needed. I remember the bumpity-bumping up the stairs with a small metal cart. At the beginning of the climb, you worry about disturbing the neighbours, at the end, you're just glad to have made it alive. I'm happy I live in a bungalow now. Rest when you can, dear girl, and get those fluids in you. :) Cheers, Lovely. ~ Jon in rural BC, Canada
How can this video be finished……… I still have half a cuppa tea 😂 Really enjoyed this video Vivi. As usual you have been wonderful company. I use to live in SW London and not far from Wimbledon tennis courts. For a few years I had a job in Wimbledon village. Tennis season was a buzz, however, trying to get to work, finding a parking space and other craziness at times made life very frustrating. Not watched tennis for years due to working and being to tired most evenings. Must try and get back into 😊 The garden looked amazing and was such eye candy. The slugs attacked my squash plants that I did with my grandson 😢. Never mind. Hope you are having a good week. Can’t wait for part two. Sending hugs 🤗 xx
Morning Vivi....if it wasn't for the travel miles from Melbourne to London I would send you all my spare bubble wrap🤍🤍 I thought curtains right away!!⛵⚓
Could you put a front carry backpack in your pull cart then carry the backpack up to your apartment rather than drag the full cart up? It's usually easier to carry something on your body than drag something upstairs. I'm insanely jealous over your Fava beans. Just beautiful! Lol in 4 years trying I think I've gotten 3 beans.
Vivi how was your garlic harvest? I assume it’s drying in the shed now? I hate that you have to climb all of those stairs with your bad knees. The sooner you find a ground floor flat the better. Hey Vivi fans, let’s start of fund for a 3 wheeler granny cart that goes up stairs. Send a fiver to Vivi’s PayPal which is listed in the description box. Let’s do it! 😊💸
Hello Vivi, you are a very busy and hard working woman, no doubt I’ve been following you for years. I know this type filming has to put undue stress on top of the mountain of work. Take care friend. 😉💗💗💗 By the way have you noticed a drop in subscribers? Just asking because today I noticed I showed “Not Subscribed”?😧 I didn’t unsubscribe, so not sure how this happens, I “Subscribed” again, but I don’t know if you have a way to see what’s happening, I just thought I mention it.
Vivi you put me to shame, you are so organised, so hard working always busy and always doing something productive. Like you I am also a retired nurse with arthritic joints. I am older than you and also live alone so like you everything is my responsibility, I have to either do things myself or pay someone else which I struggle to get int my budget.when I get down doing all the jobs around the house and garden I think if Vivi can do it you should be able to do it too.
Hmm, all sorts over the years but nothing really made much difference sadly....my knees are too far gone. Oh, but, Deep Heat sometimes brings a bit of relief oddly enough...
Surely it would be better and less work to pod at the shed and just take the beans home instead of lugging the whole beans home and bringing the haulms back for composting 4 times thats a lot of work vivi and bad on your knees hun
Hey Vivi; it just occurred to me that you mentioned a while back that you're a vegetarian, so whats your source of collagen? The joints in your knees are coated and protected by collagen which your body doesn't produce from just anything. I went vegetarian for about a year after my stroke; I started having problems with my knees popping and cracking when I would squat. A regular helping of chicken bone broth and liver and onions for the k-2 and no more joint issues. I eat more veg than meat even today, but I realized I need the fats for the brain, the collagen for the joints and the k-2 keeps the calcium going to the bones rather than the arteries where it was going which caused the stroke. Just a thought, but if the knees weren't a bother you'd have no desire to move eh? Cheers Vivi!
I feel guilty whining about my back seeing how many stairs you climb with your knees. I have one terrible knee that will never be able to be replaced because it is so seriously deformed. However, just seeing you going like that is some serious pain surely.
Ugh, sorry to hear that your knee will ever be suitable for replacement.....that's so tough to know. You have a huge dollop of sympathy and empathy from me. XXX
Watching other Frugal Folk going about their business is such a joy. Thanks for posting this Vivi.

Such an interesting video Vivi. I do sympathise with you, struggling up those stairs. Bring on the ground floor flat x
Oh my goodness....I'm so excited to get a new home without all these stairs!

Ooooh, myriad sources for us veggies....berries, citrus fruits, garlic, beans, leafy greens.....the list goes on! 😊
XXX
Oops you just answered my question lol
