    I own a female german rottie. She just turned 9 and last year was rocking 145lbs. Unfortunately it wasn’t all muscle, she got obese as we eased up on her. She’s now back down to 125ish
    What is a solid, healthy, and maintainable weight for these dogs? Germans specifically?

    • @brodythorne9758
      @brodythorne9758 3 года назад

      145lbs for a female is literally double what most working females weigh in Germany.

    Nice looking dog-I have a pup from Rasty who is coming along nicely. 140lbs is a little heavy for the standard no? FCI and ADRK standard is 50kg (110lbs) which is still a lot of dog if it's in shape and that heavy. Just curious if that weigh impacts his working ability.

      No, ives vom haus neubrand II which we OWN weighed 135 pounds and was the world working champion.

      @@vonruelmannrottweilers7145 Thanks for the reply-Ives won the DM at 48kg which is 105lbs so guess there is an in season and off season weight.

      Exact. 50kg is already a lot of weight, imagine 63kg, not to mention that this dog clearly doesn’t have that much weight.

      I kinda agree with you. When you look at all the top dogs over the last 30 years and they're working weights they averaged about 115. I like my dogs between 110 and 115 myself. They seem to be just a bit more agile

      @S S I have a 72kg rottweiler, I know how big it must be to get close to that.
