  • Ingredients;
    2 cups whole milk
    2 eggs
    3 Tbsp corn starch
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    Pinch of salt
    1/2 cup sugar

      If you place your eggs, sugar, corn flour with a little of the milk, whisk into a lovely runny paste, then add the milk it will avoid the original cornflour lumps 🇬🇧🇬🇧

      @@greentea4152 you don't need this recipe if you want to use custard powder just boil the milk with sugar and then put the powder that's it

    It will save a lot of extra effort and frustration if you thoroughly combine the sugar and cornstarch while dry before incorporating into the liquid.

    Very easy and simple no whip cream no heavy cream no condense milk plain I liked 👍
    If I want make chocolate I just add some cocoa power one tablespoon

    *Note for me cause I need to cut recipe in half.

    I made this treat tonight Wednesday 8 February 2023. It was very easy to mix and cook on the stove. Quick and quite scrumptious.....

    I tried this recipe, easy procedure, and it really tastes good, rate is 10/10, perfect
    I used evap milk, i did 1c of evap and 1c water for (2c whole milk)

    Thank God I finally found you! If you could only imagine how many times I’ve tried to make this and felt like a complete fool. Your recipe is a blessing and it works like a charm. These people on here who have all the Time in the world to make sure froufrou desserts does not work with me in my time of modern extremism of time restraints

    Two eggs ..Whisk properly
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 cups milk
    Whisk till sugar dissolves
    3 table spoon corn starch
    Pinch of salt
    1tsp vanilla extract
    Bring to boil at low heat
    Stir till it thickens

    Huh, almost identical to my cooked pudding. I do 3 eggs, 3 cups milk, 1 cup sugar, along with the cornstarch etc. Layer it with vanilla wafers and sliced bananas and you have banana pudding. Oh, and, cornstarch mixes in a lot easier if you mix it with the sugar first. Looks good, smooth and silky.

      @@PlentitudeIsland 3 tablespoons. Mix it with the sugar before adding wet ingredients and it mixes in much better.

      @@denisesudell2538 I never have, but I thicken lots of things with cornstarch. Later this week I will use it to thicken a can of crushed pineapple to use between cake layers. I don't see why non dairy milk would be a problem.

    I can't drink cows milk due to being a diabetic, so I used Silk milk. Came out perfect. Almond milk is next giving a slight almond flavor, just add chocolate. Also a stick/emersion blender worked perfect for this preparation.

    Add the 2 eggs in a large bowl then mix
    Add 2 cups whole milk and 1/2 cup sugar mix well until the sugar dissolve
    Add pinch of salt and 1 tsp of vanilla extract
    Bring to boil on a medium heat
    Stir continuously until it's thickened
    Transfer into a bowl to cool down completely

    How thick is the custard once it cools down? Will it be doughy? Or like pudding?

      It’s thickened enough when it cools down ,if it is too thick,using a fork, try whisking it together.

    I wish everyone would stop calling their version of Custard a different name.. that's why such a simple thing as custard seems to be so difficult. This is not custard filling, call it by it's correct name, it's called Confectioner's Custard.

      Yes. Or after you have cooked it & see its to thick you can add some milk you heated in the microwave. Or use cream to thin it out to the consistency you want.

      Marisse dIB, when it’s too thick using a fork try whisking it together before you layer it to your cake.
