Many German churches in Cologne were devastated by war, and were not recognizable. Same for Dresden and Warsaw and other cities. But the landmarks were built back. This ruin is is really good shape. parts would just need a roof. Why is this damaged monastery not restored given how much is still extant? Perhaps the dramatic quality of the ruins motivate the status quo. But I still note that this monastic church is very fixable.
The Modernists who sought to destroy the Church during the 20th century succeeded in leading many souls away from the Catholic Faith. The question is not whether or not this beautiful monastery can be restored (I agree with you that it is surely possible) but whether or not there still exist faithful monks. Monks who practice their vows in the purity of their original conception, complete with the Mass of All Times, are rare. During WWII, the enemy bombed churches, convents, and monasteries. During the ongoing war against the Church, the Enemy is tearing down those same structures and rebuilding them to reflect His own despair: empty, ugly, hopeless, these are all the traits of the new structures.
I have noted the same thing. Its a shame a beautifull building as this is built so many centuries agomy simple pious men of great faith is being allowed to rot and crumble away . These we re consecrated to God and should be so again even in this impious age as a symbol of the church being against all that modernism and post modernism is.
This might be the best version I have heard yet! The background throat chanting isnt common in the singing or chanting of the west. It is a very natural part of eastern chanting experience. I suspect this type of chanting if chanted precisely in the tight key and pitch is responsible for levitation where hear about among the monastic saints.
