Is it just me or does the opening sound like the terminator sountrack?
I think that was the narrative here. Stag wanted to terminate gangs, and they are the futuristic type with the lasers and VTOLs.

I love this music, but damn, that future-tech took me off guard on my first playthrough. All I could think of when STAG made their first appearance was that I had a whole new slew of fun tech to play around with. I loved that mission where you make your stand in the penthouse crib & how right after they mention on the radio how there was an exchange of "enough firepower to leverage a small country".
I wish I had a VTOL IRL though. :(

When I played this game for the first time, I militarised the Saints (gave them Guardsmen outfits) long before I knew STAG was comming. Then the "STAG party" mission came. Best. Mission. Ever. STAG was expectiong petty gangs to wipe out. They got a more than they bargained from my Siants.

They got a facefull of Merryweather private security paramilitary instead.

FYI, the VTOL is actually based on the Harrier Jump jet, which could perform the same flying style (not microwave lasers, though).

It’s really sad that the STAG F-69 VTOL Jet isn’t a real model. If it was, I’d definitely buy one. Or maybe even a model to display on the shelf!

That track comes from Alien. The one where your bombing the Daedalus is called either Man Hunt or Hunt Down, and the last one where you fight Cyrus is called Act of Freedom.

@Karmadoglike You say that STAG losing to the Saints makes the Saints look more powerful. Can't argue with you there. In the game I make myself look military like by wearing an army outfit and customizing my gang to look like a SWAT team or as a Guardsman. Makes it look like the Saints have a fighting chance.

@NDL993 Yep, me too. But its hard to choose anything. I sometimes like to believe that Saints are military trained, but the fact that only 1-4 Saints are needed to destroy military bases and aircraft carriers just makes me skeptical, lol.

I loves this track for a big reason. It starts out getting you pumped up then it goes in to music that makes the fight sound hopeless and finishes it off with "we can do this!" type of music!
STAG guys are really the best. If not the Saints, (actually if not the mere-impossible to kill Protagonist), they'd cleaned out Steelport in 24 hours.
