HE DID A GREAT KING HEROD'S SONG
Most people forget that Alice Cooper actually has a very good singing voice, we've gotten use to the Alice Cooper that growls at us on stage. This is a very fine cover, and even though it's almost exactly similiar to the Revolver version, I honestly don't think there's much you can do to this song since it's basically just a string arrangement, I'm sure Cooper could have brought in a guitarist to play the part instead, but I think it's a great cover as is.

I don't know why they decided to use autotune, he doesnt need that really. And McCartney is no Pavarotti, Alice could easily sing any of his old songs even today.
He has so many that people get surprised over.
There is very little to no pitch correction on this track. You can clearly hear that he is off pitch at times, and believe me, one who works with pitch correction does not let that slide.
Or Millie and Billie, Every woman has a name, I never cry, and a whole BUTT-LOAD of other soft tunes.
Alice is such a good Lyricist-Vocalist-Writer.
He once said that when he writes, he sits back watching TV and jots things down during the commercials.
Alice was a TV freak back then and watched LOTS of TV.
He was hooked on the tube.
After only -- TWO HOURS -- of watching TV he has an album written.
I heard and SAW this interview with him and this was around 1978 I believe it was.

Let's see just how many of TODAY'S so called "STARS" do that.

As a lifetime Beatles fan and a devotee of Sir Paul (yes i have all the single's and B sides)... I have to give this a thumbs up , and what an opportunity for Allice to show of his vocal abilities. To the people who say this or the original can't be topped you really should give the Zoot version a fair listen ;-)
This is THE BEST cover on TAoM. His clear diction, how he gives meaning to the lyrics, how he emotes, brilliant, even better than PM's original, well nearly.

Have you ever heard the story about the round bed that Frank Zappa gave Alice? Alice gave it to Paul for his meditation room. Paul didn't want it, but took it to be nice. It's funnier told by Alice.
I know he was friendly with Lennon, but Paul too? the combo of drunken Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon and Alice used to cause havoc in early 70s LA 😄
Alice always has been an artist first and a singer second. There are so many people who think a great musician is better than a great performer. They are clueless.
There's no other artist that could sing this particular Beatles classic than Detroit's own Alice Cooper. He went to my HS when he was known as Vinnie Furnier.
Pretty incredible Alice, all you need is a mic, pop filter, stand, and your good to go. At 40 years old, this is probably as much of as classic to me as it is to you. Kinda cool to geek out and see classics as classics, with people much older than me. Rock on man, keep it up, and I love the wallpaper!!
You know, I kind of wish people would stop thinking of Paul McCartney as such an artist, and start seeing him for the Rock God he is.

This had to be fun for Alice. When I heard it for the first time I was shocked -- You sound 24 years old again !!! Obviously there was a tiny bit of studio doctoring but as we all know - that's show biz. Anyway....Its ironic that on a TV show a few years ago where you had to list the Top 5 Rock songs of all time, one of the fellow guest stars named Eleanor Rigby and you good-heartedly said something like "that's hardly a rock song, it needs rock guitars". So....Hey Alice - This is a real treasure. Please keep these kind of projects going. I know its fun for you and its fun for us too !!!

You people upset, you do realize that Alice is basically dictated by the producer as far as how much he can change the song? Not to mention, Alice probably wouldn't change this song too much, being as big of a Beatles fan as he is, I'm willing to bet this already very dark song was a big stylistic inspiration to him.

Un bel brano dei Beatles. Molto duro e triste. E, nell'ascoltarlo, penso a quanta gente sola c'è ancora adesso, quanta...proprio tanta tanta...Basta guardare i social, questa marea di solitudine e di mancanza di senso che si cerca invano di mascherare con un continuo chiacchiericcio e con le illusioni dell'apparire...
Capolavoro assoluto dei Beatles quando nella musica del tempo nessuno parlava di morte che era tabu vero e proprio, precorsero i tempi sfondando anche questo muro e trasformando la musica popolare in arte vera e propria; nella canzone le persone sole sono due, Eleanor e Padre McKenzie che si ritrovano assieme alla fine del brano ma solo per celebrare il funerale di Ealeanor; ma la cosa che deve farci riflettere è che Eleanor mori sola perchè non ebbe il coraggio di dire come si sentiva, per vergogna di essere declassata a poveraccia agli occhi degli altri; è proprio quel che capita anche adesso a molte persone, che tengono la loro sofferenza nel proprio cuore e per vergogna di rivelarsi deboli, sofferenti, bisognosi di aiuto preferiscono morire ogni giorno piuttosto che mostrarsi per come sono.
