For the rest of the journey it was supposed to produce its own food (probably in a smaller scale than after the refit) and to get supplies by Big Alice, the "secondary supply train" One "trip" takes 133 days, 2.7 revolutions a year. There would be no fresh food at the end of the trip. And I might be mistaken, but maybe the train was intended to never stop at all, even before freeze. Why else would you build the Eternal Engine, except as marketing ploy? And no, the train was not build for the freeze, it just got converted into an ark AFTER it was already in operation for a year or so as luxury cruiser

(I know I am very late but I’ll say it anyways) these car counts are or were on the Wilford industries website made by TNT (the old owner of the series) so no, the dining car is not near the engine. (Even though some scenes show that the dining car is near the engine, TNT was just sometimes inaccurate when it comes to car count in the show. Because literally cars keep swapping places in the train) but yeah the dining car is officially the 165th car on the train.

The tail I’m pretty sure is 5 or 3 cars long but I myself think the most is there are 5 and I just added it in the 3rd class car count, so the would be 333 3rd class cars. And if there were only 3, then 3rd class would be 336 cars long. So yeah, it’s actually more than just 160 cars in 1st class according to me. (Don’t hate on me plz)
There isnt much to see in Big A. I think out of 40 cars, 30 or so are pure cargo supply cars, one big lab, one mess hall, the engine, so Iguess we have around 5 - 7 "interesting" cars for the crew. But as far as I got it, even those are just repurposed cargo cars
This is the culture of 18th 19th century steam ships overly dramatized. I think each person on this ship. Should have quarters atleast up to steam ship standards of the 18th through what we could reasonably predict the 23rd century living standards could be. So more versatility is a available to the actors for them to advance the plot. Also season 3 could go interplanetary. As these show would make more sense if it was on a giant Aline plant. And each week another town/ country/ city state was encountered by the crew and passaenger's was like the citiy of a thousand words. Also some cars of the train should be two to three stories theater sets for the actors to fully exploit the possiblity's of their charter. West world type robot could be simulated. The Reason children rich or poor must be distracted, and could be simitaneously educated. Rember seame street. Imagen I robot R2 D2 teaching algebra, chemistry etc.
