Can you expand on scalp care and healthy product ingredients in that sense? For skin, I've learned that a great moisturizer should contain ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids. But what are essential ingredients for the scalp? Since I don't know which ingredients are essential for scalp care, I have a hard time finding a good product to lightly moisturize my scalp. I've noticed that oil alone does not do the job for me AT ALL, no matter which oil I use. Could you please expand on this topic? ❤
The one thing I learned from Tonya is general is exfoliating your scalp. I wash every three weeks and that squeaky sound and feeling is music to my ears. I’m on my way now to Lush to get that moisturizer.
Thank You. I find myself going through all of my existing products and slowly encorporating recommendations. Looking forward to enjoying the fruit of our research
It was enlightening for me to hear your answer to the question regarding hair that takes a while to get wet but dries quickly. It describes my hair perfectly.
To me, it sounds like Betty has dense thick high porosity hair and that’s why it seems like it takes a long time to get wet but it doesn’t. I have dense hp hair and have to put my head under the shower and flip through my hair in sections for the water to absorb. Then when I go to apply products I make sure my hair is damp, I emulsify the product in my hands with a little water, and after I apply it I spray on more water with a mister bottle if it looks like it’s not saturating my hair.
I am having trouble with my scalp. I have shaved my hair off again because of the 2 spots in the front from alopecia. I got ALL my questions answered. Thank you for all of the Jems. ❤❤❤❤❤
@CurlyChemistry oiling my scalp causes bumps. Even if I use grease, that causes an itchy scalp so can you suggest something that won't cause an adverse effect?
I havr tried one of the liquid conditioners and it gave me life. Pattern has released a heavy vwrsion of their conditioner for high poroaity tight curls and between the deep condition and scalp oil treatment, I am in heaven. Thank You for your channel ans quality content. Feeling more confident in Ulta. :)❤😅
Could a reason why hair takes ages to get wet but does quickly be that there's a lot of sealing products coating it? Genuine question because I'm new (at almost 50) to managing my hair 😊
That not only can I drink coffee...but I can use it on my hair as a treatment🤭💃🏽😄 Also, that we should follow up after itchy scalp treatment, seal it as well just as we do with our hair. Thanks again Ms. Tonya!🌷🌷
@CurlyChemistry Question: Is it better for someone with low porosity hair to after applying a leave in conditioner. To also add a mousse/ foam or gel afterwards? Does this seal the hair?
I have itchy scalp for 5 years now i buy everything and try every product for scalp i can't even save money because of this. A week ago i hear about msm powder so i buy with collagen a 5 days after taking them i stop feeling itchy scalp before no matter how i wash my scalp with shampoos clay apple cider vinegar i try everything but now msm and collagen save me
It should be banned...at this point I believe it was created intentionally, to cause hair loss....ladies, if you use this brand and you're experiencing hair loss, thier products are most likely the reason.

See the thing is I have low porosity hair and dry itchy scalp and I do oil it and it still flakes a day or 2 later. I have yet to tame this Afro
What I've learnt is that a mix of castor oil, pumpkin seed oil and peppermint essential oil is great for thinnng hair. 😊
One great thing I took from this video is applying a serum on your scalp followed by an oil. Idk why I never thought of that before but it’s great!
One thing I've taken from this vid is that learning your hair is paramount if you wanna see progress

Hi Tonya, I really love the ask Tonya series. Thank you for steadily providing with value ❤
I found Living Proof serum to help more than the Pattern 1 u suggested for dry scalp. I also found using oils like Jojoba on my scalp gave me acne...
Thank You. I find myself going through all of my existing products and slowly encorporating recommendations. Looking forward to enjoying the fruit of our research

The person whose hair takes long to get wet but dries quickly may have high porosity hair, but is using products that cause product build up.
