I love these types of videos of you and Sandy running in the mountains for such long distances. I'm wondering how your feet hold up after getting them wet early in your run!?? I don't like running with wet feet. 😅 I'm a marathon road runner. I've never been a trail runner. I do love your channel and all the advice you have to offer... 💛 From Florida 🌞
Feet held up really well. It's always good to have a change of shoes and dry socks (although we went on a lot of 20-30 mile days with no changes as it's so remote). But lube up with Squirrels Nut Butter, wear Drymax socks, and then put band-aids or mole skin or duct tape/KT tape on any "hot spots" early on are some tricks I use. The feet also get tough from a lot of long trail runs. I can't say I have all my toenails though 🤣
Moose were probably the biggest concern around Silverton area. During the Western States 100 I ran into a really big bear. I've also run into mountain lions around Boulder (and then of course there are rattlesnakes). Honestly a creature called a "human" scares me the most usually if they are acting unusual (or having a deer/elk/moose jump out in front of you when you are driving a car).
@@MNP208 I would be much more concerned about grizzlies (compared to black bears....however I 've known of people getting attacked really bad by black bears). There are also a ton in Alaska. When we ran in Glacier (park) last year I thought we probably should have had bear spray honestly.
Not much scenery, no big mountains around - says Sage from a 10000ft high alpine basin in the middle of the San Juan’s 😂 loved the video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for releasing this video. I didn’t think you were going to release this video based on the time that went by after releasing the first 3 videos.
yeah figured I'd wait untl almost a full year had passed and it was Hardrock 100 race time again! (I did have trouble finding some of my old video clips though)
I think the ones i have are actually called the "Leki FX One ultra-trail Superlite"....they are fixed length and I believe the lightest one Leki had last year.
Incredible views 👌🏼. Thanks for sharing with us.
Makes me want to run Hardrock! Thanks for taking us along!!!
Sage you're an inspiration for me 💪💪

I really thought you were going to pull a George R R Martin and never finish the series.
I lost a lot of good footage (accidently deleted) because I waited almost a year to edit this (and because you weren't out filming on day 4 🤣).
I’ve always wondered about dangerous animal sightings in these trail races. Especially the Sierra Nevadas!

@@Vo2maxProductions I suppose you’d only encounter grizzlies in Montana, but mountain lions scare me too.

@@Vo2maxProductions Yes, we hiked Glacier on the Highline Trail. We made sure other hikers were around us! I wouldn’t want to be there alone.

i'd love to see you (both of you really) race Hardrock in '25. if Ludo can do, you can do it too.
That's the way I'd run 100 miles in a beautiful area - over multiple days :)
Do you use the Superlite poles or the regular Ultratrail FX One poles?

What pack are you using Sage?
It was a CamelBak Octane 22L (same one I used for Soft UTMB also!)
Moose: I WILL EAT YOU! 😡😤😡
Sage: But we’re VEGAN 😳🥺🥺🥺
Moose: Okay 😄😋😋😋🫶
