Yesterday i won as the defect with the inserter relic (every 2 turns you get an extra orb slot) and with full ice orbs, got like 100+ armor every turn, the boss killed him self with thorns relic + the thorns potion :p
You can. And it beats in tune with the music. Which is absolutely fucking incredible. Seriously, this is one of the most climactic final bosses I've experienced in years.
Beat the heart for the first time and it went like this Heart on 50 hp, I'm on 30. My attacks do so much damage so I'm confident I can kill him next turn. I only roll block cards His next attack does 70 damage. I get exactly 40 block, so I have 70hp total. There's nothing I can do, I stare at the screen realizing i just lost, his attack will do exactly 70 damage. Eventually press end turn, knowing I'll die. Forget i used a skill 10 minutes ago that gives me 4 block at the end of turn. I survive with 4 hp and finally win :)
Reminds me of a game where i was about 1 hp and only had to play 1 card to kill the heart to bring it down to 50 hp (i had watcher's 50dmg every round effect active) but i couldn't do that since i took damage from playing cards, i had the relic that heals when drinking potions, luckily i had a potion and healed enough to play a card and only survived with 1-2 hp and got the kill...
My first defenitely didn’t involve getting a crap ton of focus Like 20 or so with 7 slots I had calipers so I only lose 2 block at the end of my turn Thanks inserter plus (insert card that loses orb slot but gains focus) combo
Usually if I get a good enough deck to beat the heart it's not even close usually when i get to it i can maybe get it to 50%HP and the damage is too much.
@@slayer7160The other day, I killed it in 3 turns because I had Gambler's Chip, Sneko Skull, a few innate card relics, and some energy boosters. Burst+ into Bouncing Flask+ into Catalyst+. On the very first turn, I applied ((16*2)*3+1)*3+1 poison. That's 292 total. The fight ended as soon as it began, it was bound to live only 3 turns, the lowest amount possible because of its Invincible buff preventing further damage.
"As you enter the room, you see the Corrupted Heart, bleeding, squirming but ultimately still pounding. It won't go down without a fight. You ready yourself to dance along the beat of the heart. Along the beat of death."
And this is ever more present for your first visit to the heart ever, having been massacred by the elite and under 20 hp, only for it to throw 2 vuln, weaken, and frail, and the slow march of the five statuses into your deck, only to immediately stare down 60(67) the following turn
I think I've seen 20x15 (right after the fourth buff when the heart has 18 strength). Thankfully I managed to kill it right before it attacked me. But yes, if you don't kill the heart by the 3rd buff the fight gets pretty terrifying.
@BluoAnimates And BluoGaming I’m pretty sure I got the buffs right - 2+2+2+12 after the fourth buff. But I agree that second buff is essentially the requirement for almost all builds, and good decks aim to kill by turn 5 or 6 (after first buff). Artifact is benign but prevents damage mitigation against 4x15, which may punish some decks. Otherwise, it’s not a big deal. 3 beat of death is incredibly difficult to mitigate. Think of it as -3 dexterity, but even more as most cards don’t even give block. Especially when the heart is hitting for 49 or 6x15. Most decks either kill the heart here or perish. Painful stabs is the least concerning to me usually. At 8x15, wounds are the least of your worries because you’re gonna die before the heart adds any substantial wounds to your deck. Decks that somehow make it here are usually huge block machines. 20x15 is the final deadline for almost everything except infinites. I’ve reached this point again since my last comment during my A20 heart kill, and barely managed to win on that turn. 72x15 is 1080 damage, and the maximum block is 999. Good luck preserving your apparitions all the way to this point, because that’s your only hope here.
Damn this game has such a great soundtrack; "The Heart" capturing the stakes of making it so far and finally being able to confront and corner the unreachable. The battle encapsulates the themes of determination, danger, and achievement of the conclusion that has been denied up until this point (the first time around that is). That first hairline victory I had against the heart was so memorable, literally brought to 1hp and hanging on with defense each time it seemed that all was lost. Moments like that which teach you not to throw in the towel till its over make for amazing and memorable experiences. (It also taught me to optimize my deck lmao)
Then you pull up with an infinite combo and 200 block in a turn as watcher- ALMOST flawlessed the heart except the second turn was all status cards so…
My first (and only) heart victory was a lucky Necronomicurse-Rupture-Blue Candle synergy sent from the very hands of RNGesus that shat all over the Heart, kind of wish mine was that intense lol.
I want to commend you for the excellent loop. Many times I've seen tracks that were extended with pauses between loops that were just a little too short or long. Those took you out of the experience. Here there is no such blemish. Thank you.
I had a fucking amazing exhaust deck with Dead Branch and Charon's Ashes and Barricade. I fucked up, exhausted all my skills and in my last attack, the heart was left with 1 HP. The beat killed me. FeelsBadMan
I feel like you should get a special victory cutscene for that. You killed the Heart and slayed the Spire, it should be a victory even if you die in the process.
Man, The Heart is always so difficult. Every time I reach it, I just start praying it doesn't use 'Know This' and makes my stress level go off the threshold.
I mean... aside from it probably being in 3/4 (or even sounds like 6/8), theres pretty little about it that sounds waltzy to me. Waltz beat is like half the tempo of this
@@guilla5 While mathematically 3/4 and 6/8 are the same, in music, they are played differently. This is because 6/8 divides the measure into two halves, so the first beat is given most emphasis, and the 4th is also given a bit mote emphasis. In a waltz, 3/4, only the first beat is emphasized, if even. That being said, you can get the same effect by making 3/4 just really fast, but it's usually just better to make it 6/8 in that case.
