Just saw Haley at Menomonie! Wow - you're correct that hearing her live is a whole new experience. I had the greatest effect from "Honey, There's the Door" - lots of frisson - maybe since it was the 2nd song she played. She also covered the Wind Cries Mary" and also "I've got a spell on you" - I had to leave early and she started late - so I missed half the show! Still it was so intense in one hour - not sure if I could handle another hour. hahaha. I don't know how she does it and her band is truly excellent also. The Venue is very cool but I didn't really see anyone dancing - except Haley is an awesome dancer. She looked stunning and has awesome rapport.

Unfortunately, I've made a decision to not go to as many shows as I used to. I'm looking down the barrel of "60" and can't afford to travel to 6-10 shows a year. I just came back from her 'Hometown' Chicago show, it's my 74th show, my 15th in Illinois, 2nd only to seeing her 29 times in CA, over 12 years (minus 2 pandemic years. I told her I'd like her to schedule a show in Seattle so my 75th show will be in my hometown. I'm glad you had fun, hopefully next time you get to see the whole show. She performed "Can't Find My Way Home" and Zep's "What is and What Should Never Be" w/ her Dad tonight. I'm hoping my media came out good enough. The goal always is to make a video good enough that she will use it. My last one on her channel, "I Put a Spell On You", is less than 200k views to one million views, my best performing video on Haley's channel :)

I made a playlist of just "I put a spell on you" vids of hers on youtube - I think I have ... 12 vids! I really like her take on that song - and I didn't realize it's the Nina Simone version! hahaha. I told Haley how my mom was really into Nina Simone in 1960 (actually it was 1959). So I brought my 88 year old Mom - she loved it. I never mentioned that Haley started an hour late but part of the delay was when she was 20 minutes late then they announced free drinks on the house! It was practically a stampede and so the line pushed back the start time of 45 minutes late to 1 hour late. hahahaha. I didn't take up that free drink offer - I don't normally drink but since we ate at the lake on Menomonie - it was really cozy and beautiful right on the lake - so I got a custom brew on tap - had one beer and a half - and I was definitely feeling it. hahaha. It wore off by the time she started. I'm looking forward to your vid releases with her dad - from that Chicago show and now she's off to Hawaii?!! I'm glad she gets to enjoy the tropical island. hahaha. I posted a long comment on Haley's channel about my trip to see her - with my mom - and Haley hearted it. So she doesn't heart all her comments for sure - this makes me happy that she hearted mine. It sounds strange but Haley looked up at the balcony and we made eye contact a couple times - that theater is a small space! I looked at a photo from the stage and so I could tell what it was like to be on stage to look up at the balcony. It's a Lumber Baron build theater - all decked out in - some kind of "Moroccan rococo" style. hahaha. Well sounds like you've had quite the Halien life - 75th show in Seattle? What I really like about Haley is how her style has changed a bit - her song writing has changed a bit. Her band is really really good - she has awesome musicians. I consider her the best musician-performer alive today - a living legend - but that includes her band also. I think her music is too complex for the typical "radio play" - and radio music is all about payola I think - with the easier no-brainer music used to just sell advertising for radio stations. That's why I just have Haley on thumbdrive in the car to listen to - I go on long road trips regularly. This Screamin' Jay Hawkins cover definitely induces frisson - shivers - chills - tingles. I used to listen to Screamin' Jay Hawkins on cassette in the car back in the day - like 30 years ago!! So I also was a big Nina Simone fan just like my mom. I watched her documentary on netflix - long before I knew about Haley. So my music interests line up with Haley - and I assume Haley is married now because her engagement was two years ago. I noticed Drew Dolan posting an instagram to Haley just this month - so they're still together - whether their status is married or not. hahahaha. I was always into blues piano music as my favorite piano music to play - even though I trained classically - and my name is Drew also! hahahaha. Haley is fun to watch dancing - she's a great dancer - and her hand motions while singing - and her jokes - as a performer. Of course she is a sexy hot mamma also - her dresses are always stunning. Her whole "retro-soul" style is pretty much her own genre of music I think.
Have you seen the 'best' live performance of "Lovefool", video'd during 2015 in LA. I saw 5 PMJ shows w/ Haley that year (The same year PMJ recorded Creep and All About That Bass on their European Tour) I unfortunately forgot to charge my camcorder for this show, but was able to capture this gorgeous performance, IMO better than PMJ's official video :P ruclips.net/video/MIpxmVEoGKs/видео.html
