Yes I always get excited when I see another Bucket studios notification pop up. I'm catching you up ive only got about 20 videos left before I get to your current one.
I have to say I have really enjoyed the content, you are good at it and you do a good job at filming it too. I cheated the other day and watched your Q and A videos but I was a bit disappointed you didn't answer my questions im not sure if you seen them in the comments section but I posted them about 5 days after you put out the community message so may be I was too late.

I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! Hopefully they get better as you go 😅 so sorry to miss your question, I can't remember how long I left it, but was definitely eager to answer the Qs that were there already.

Really nice! It's been a while that I hesitate to buy an imperial blade and turn it into a medival dagger with leather... might fall for it...

Im finally gonna sand down the edges of the field knife this monday after the school I work at allowed me to borrow the disc sander we have. I was wondering if you could tell me some more about aliminium blackening. Anything I need to keep in mind? What do I do with the birchwood stuff after im done with it? Do I wash it off, do I throw it away in the trash? Im not used to it and I tried to look around for info, but no luck so far.

There's a few YT videos on it out there, it's the same as using BC super blue for steel so maybe try that too. Sand to your desired finish. Then make sure the parts are super clean, like the cleanest possible with a degreaser/acetone/isopropyl alcohol. Then apply the blacking with a cotton swab, keep it moving. After 5-10 mins wash it off. I do it outside and have a full bucket of water ready. You can also neutralise with an alkaline like baking soda, then it usually can be thrown away. Then buff with high grit sandpaper. You may have to repeat the process 2,3,4 times for a consistent finish. In the end you should be able to polish to a smooth finish. It's a very touchy finish for larger pieces, and I've had it go wrong more than right, but can be done with patience. Suffice to say, gloves, eye protection and a respirator are recommended
