I am so excited for you to enjoy this amazing home on wheels. I have to say that I absolutely love watching you and Issac and how caring and helpful you are to each other. What a beautiful example for your precious daughter. You make these repairs and upgrades look so easy lol.
I know you probably get tons of tips, but the best thing to do with those windows is take them out and reseal them with new butyl tape. They’re only held in by the screws on the inside of the window frame. That will help keep them dry for years to come
@ it’s definitely the way to go. The caulk on the outside is so thin that it dries and cracks quickly. It’s really just a second defense. The main seal is the butyl tape under the frame
Girl you gave me an anxiety attack with you on the roof installing the A/C. You are blessed with talent. Man I wish I could do what you do. I cannot wait to see the whole thing all done. Your AMAZING!!!
Jaylena. I'm so happy for you, & proud of you! Thank you so much for learning & teaching. You get so much better with time! I'm impressed with you, you kick ass. Thank you for teaching this ol' girl so much. 62 yrs old on 4 yrs nomadic in my Triton v8, 1999. I love it. . WELL DONE, EXCELLENT JOB. CONGRATS ON THIS BEAUTY! BLESSINGS! SAFE TRAVELS!
Dang, the way you just go after what needs to be done and you make it happen, it’s so impressive! Your can do attitude makes watching your videos so much fun, and I really look forward to them.
!!! Close the door to the woodstove after adding paper, PLEASE. Before anyone comes at me, I've heated with woodstoves nearly half a century, burning paper creates little flying embers. Other than that great find on your Chinook. Seeing all your other accomplishments, I have faith you'll do great things!
I'm really excited to see what you do with the inside! I absolutely love what you did with your van build. That counter you made was stunning! I know you aren't doing a complete tear down renovation, but I think your magic touch will make it look like a whole new RV
Your doing great! I enjoyed the video. You smiled a lot in this one you seemed very ....🤔 relaxed? Happy? Lighter? Trying to find the right words. I found myself smiling with you. I loved all the left in bits that showed like the banter and everyone chatting and real life moments like getting the AC on the roof. " welcome to sketch mountain", before the friend said off camera " just throw it up there" all things my friends would say as they come in to help. Personally I'm sure I would have a few f words during this process. Your doing great! 💜✌
You are so brave to take on this project. You've learned so much. I've watched you grow over the years and I'm so impressed with your abilities. I know you are new to RVs instead of buses. You really shouldn't power wash an RV. It can cause the seals to fail and you would get water on the inside, that you might not even notice.
It’s not cheap but Webasto makes a gasoline-fired heater, just like a little diesel heater but can run off the existing gas tank of the van. Just needs 12v and gas in the tank.
Tip: never damage or destroy any of the packaging immediately, if the item requires returning you are going to want that stuff. Being up on the roof without a full-body safety harness and a means to escape is reckless. One misstep/slip/fall and your entire life can be affected, if you live. A rope(s) attached to the chassis and routed to the roof would make a suitable anchor(s). Perform a risk analysis before each job so that when/if you get hurt at least you do not regret not addressing those concerns. If you chose to ignore your safety that's on you. If you do insurance should decline to accept your claim given you took no reasonable precautions to ensure your safety. Yes, I am fully aware it seems like overkill.....that what everybody says before the accident or insurance claim(s). Not many long-term care facilities are off-grid.
Just a suggestion, for the stains on the ceiling carpet I've used a solution of 50/50 bleach and water. Spray it on and lightly scrub. After a few hours of drying the stains will fade away. Its worked for me on 2 motorhomes.
I watch your videos here in Germany and I'm excited to see what you do this time! I love the compact layout of your RV - it would also fit well in Europe - and I've always been looking for something like that for me and my wife. I wish you continued success with the renovation and your travels! 🙋🏼♂️☀️
I just redid all the caulking on my camper van. Whoever put it on had it slopped everywhere. It took a while but I got it all off and reapplied new caulk and it looks great now… Yours is coming along nicely.I like it!
I know the engine and suspension on that rig pretty well. Get an honest tech to go over them before you hit the road. Both work well but only with frequent maintenance. Good luck!!
Based on my beginner DIY skill, you did some serious DIY repairs there. I expect to see an exceptional upgraded Chinook with your super DIY skill. Have fun making the RV pretty.
As far as a propane heater to tie into your existing propane lines, I'd strongly consider a Camco Olympian Wave 6 or Wave 8 heater. Super efficient, dry and quiet heat
You are doing a great job getting the essentials done . I'm thinking it might be worth your while to hook those wires back up for a back up heating option . It is an inside job so you could get the outside things done and go back to the wiring . It is coming along nicely !
Two words for you, after the fact, with old dry gunk: heat gun. On a much brighter note, my daughter got her book last week. Whenever she's done, I'll post a review 😉👍
I'd highly recommend changing out the headlights with HID's and a high flow factory replacement air filter to help slightly with gas mileage. Those Triton V10 are gas guzzlers.
The only thing you need to be careful of is if the btu rating is too high for the amount of square footage it can lead to issues with moisture, because the unit won't run long enough to dehumidify the space. 15000 btu seems like alot for that size of space
Looks great and we have that same AC unit in our Class A..........I am thinking we need to update ours as it is an older unit and it's parked in the heat of the south. Calking also around our windows. Thanks for the check list, now I know what to put on Our list. LOL Great job and that is a truly nice looking unit. It looks like our units little brother. LOL Blessings and it's a sharp looking unit. Your being an understudy of Issac's has really helped you both out. Hand in hand learning and it's amazing! Blessings
I thought you got a generator with this one. If so you can operate all the 110 v stuff from that when you are off grid. Most heaters, both for water and heat are generally propane on MH's and the standard space heaters for them are usually less expensive than the propex and much more reliable, plus parts for them are available all over the place.
Always wash top of vehicle first then sides. Careful the psi on a pressure washer needs to be on low when washing a vehicle otherwise paint can come off.
You’re making great progress. Too bad you didn’t already have diesel. I’m a new fan of the diesel heater. I’ve got mine in my 1,400 square foot house. 1 gallon of diesel will keep it at 68°F when it’s around 36°F outside that’s running it around the clock. It uses about 5-1/2 oz/hr on its lowest setting.
Great job! You got a lot done. At first when I saw the distance between your max air fan and the a/c opening I got concerned that your new a/c was going to interfere with the fan. Turns out it didn’t. Yea! Looking forward to the next phase
Good job. Your braver than me, I'm having my new A/C put in by a professional. My van never had an A/C so I just would feel better having someone who knows what they are doing.
Just recently found your channel, love what you're doing. I have fallen in love with this Chinook, I want one for myself now! I have always dreamed of taking an older, quality motor home with good structure and mechanicals and modernizing the systems like you are doing. Looking forward to seeing everything you do, it's all knowledge that will serve me when I get into one. Appreciate the obviously MASSIVE amount of work you put into producing and editing these videos.
This just popped up on my feed. I had seen a couple of your videos regarding your “new to you” rig. While you were pressure washing, I about fell out of my chair. Your rig has county 20 Wyoming plates. I live in county 20…too funny!
You are gonna need some heat. The heat strip in the AC unit doesn’t work below 40 degrees. You will need the propane furnace or remove it and add a gas Webasto heater. They are efficient and not bad to install. I’d consider both. Hooking up the propane furnace and the Webasto heater. Once you boondock you’ll love it and avoid Rv parks 😂 I just ordered some of those solider/heat shrink connectors, glad they work. That roof cleaned up nice. Nice job 👍🏼
I am so excited for you to enjoy this amazing home on wheels. I have to say that I absolutely love watching you and Issac and how caring and helpful you are to each other. What a beautiful example for your precious daughter. You make these repairs and upgrades look so easy lol.
You guys are such a great example of how ex's can get along and work together. You are doing a great job on your new home ❤
I know you probably get tons of tips, but the best thing to do with those windows is take them out and reseal them with new butyl tape. They’re only held in by the screws on the inside of the window frame. That will help keep them dry for years to come
That's advice many of us can use. Thanx!!!
@ it’s definitely the way to go. The caulk on the outside is so thin that it dries and cracks quickly. It’s really just a second defense. The main seal is the butyl tape under the frame
Atleast both of you are helping each other out on the projects
You're doing great! Can't wait for the inside work!
You are amazing Jaylena, girl power! So glad that you and Isaac are tag teaming and helping each other!
You're doing such a great job, Jaylena. You're becoming a pro at installing electric. Love watching teamwork on your builds.
Great job installing your air conditioner
Girl you gave me an anxiety attack with you on the roof installing the A/C. You are blessed with talent. Man I wish I could do what you do. I cannot wait to see the whole thing all done. Your AMAZING!!!
Thank you Isaac! You're the man!! 😊💪🤳👏🏻❤
Jaylena. I'm so happy for you, & proud of you! Thank you so much for learning & teaching. You get so much better with time! I'm impressed with you, you kick ass. Dang, the way you just go after what needs to be done and you make it happen, it’s so impressive! Your can do attitude makes watching your videos so much fun, and I really look forward to them.
Agree!!!!!!!!
On the bottom of your window seals you should have weep holes in the seals. Don't plug them.
!!! Close the door to the woodstove after adding paper, PLEASE. Before anyone comes at me, I've heated with woodstoves nearly half a century, burning paper creates little flying embers.
Other than that great find on your Chinook. Seeing all your other accomplishments, I have faith you'll do great things!
I noticed that too!🥴 I was thinking the exact same thing! I'm such a mother hen.😅 (there wasn't that much paper though)
Jaylena, we so proud of you
I'm really excited to see what you do with the inside! I absolutely love what you did with your van build. That counter you made was stunning! I know you aren't doing a complete tear down renovation, but I think your magic touch will make it look like a whole new RV
It’s starting to look like a home so exciting🎉 🎉🎉
Yay!!! I'm so excited to see things coming together! Your determination is admirable. Now for the fun stuff! Demo & design!!!😃
Can count on Jaylena to get it done!! ❤💯💫💥👍🏻👏🏻

I really admire you for everything you tackle! Good for you!

You really shouldn't power wash an RV. It can cause the seals to fail and you would get water on the inside, that you might not even notice.
My dog heard the sounds of this video and came over to see if I was okay. Now we watch it together😘
Woman power ! Great job Jaylena! I'm proud of your determination!

Yeah, nobody likes wearing them. Coincidently few people like falling 3m breaking their neck and/or back.
I'm sure she had a mother at one time to tell her what to do
Your skill set is amazing! Always a joy to watch your transformations. Awesome job j!
Way to go girl! You got this!
Great job as always you guys. Stay safe and as always, my love to all on Wild Mountain
Just a suggestion, for the stains on the ceiling carpet I've used a solution of 50/50 bleach and water. Spray it on and lightly scrub. After a few hours of drying the stains will fade away. Its worked for me on 2 motorhomes.
That AC unit is purty! ❤❤❤

That was some superb work young lady , WELL DONE, WELL DONE , WELL DONE
You do things right the first time. 👍🏼 My heart stops as you all move the AC. 😯
Great update! I’ve been waiting on this one 😊 Thanks Jaylena. 🎉🎉🎉
I know you going to make beautiful new home, you are very talented young lady 👋

I've been waiting for this video. So excited to watch it.
I think you should be commended for your ability's and taking on the project!!!
The truth always comes out when you confront it, doesn't it, I hope you don't find any worse damage. Regards from Germany 🇩🇪
I like the bangs on you, you look younger. Luv ya😊😊😊😊😊
Very cool! Thank you for your attention to detail! 💚🍓
Great video Jaylena

You’re so beautiful! The excitement in your face is undeniable. I’m so excited for your future, as always, you will shine so brightly! ❤
Great video, love you are replacing old worn-out units, so your rv will be comfortable for you & EMBER. 😊❤
Now this is a the perfect woman 😊
You are doing a great job getting the essentials done . I'm thinking it might be worth your while to hook those wires back up for a back up heating option . It is an inside job so you could get the outside things done and go back to the wiring . It is coming along nicely !
Hard work always pays off. . . Nice job!!
Hello jaylena God bless you i have so much respect for you wow you did that without Isaac and you got AC wow that's a beautiful thing
Awesome job on the RV. Does she have a name yet? YOU are looking so good, girl!!!!! I'm glad to see that beautiful smile again. ❤️ 💙 💜
Two words for you, after the fact, with old dry gunk: heat gun. On a much brighter note, my daughter got her book last week. Whenever she's done, I'll post a review 😉👍
Helpful to give some power draw specs using a Kill A Watt or smart plug with energy monitoring.
Boom 💥 good job 👏 ✨🙏🕊️
I'd highly recommend changing out the headlights with HID's and a high flow factory replacement air filter to help slightly with gas mileage. Those Triton V10 are gas guzzlers.
Wonder if a heat gun or blow dryer would have helped soften the caulking...hopefully safely.
The only thing you need to be careful of is if the btu rating is too high for the amount of square footage it can lead to issues with moisture, because the unit won't run long enough to dehumidify the space. 15000 btu seems like alot for that size of space

Your videos are always so informative and informative! Thank you for this! 🧡💖
Awesome video
Love watching you work on your new travel home

I've been watching your videos and it's really helping me feel better about purchasing a RV and working on it. Thanks for all the great videos.
Awesome sauce! Loved watching the upgrades!
Heat gun works well for removing any silicone or caulking
Good looking rig. Going to enjoy your renovation adventures. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Love the new rig and looking forward to the inside demo
Well done!!
Great job..really impressive!!
Ryobi makes a power scrubber. Works great on rvs.
Thanks for sharing Great job 👏
You are amazing with the knowledge you have for doing the work on your own RV,
Good job. Your braver than me, I'm having my new A/C put in by a professional. My van never had an A/C so I just would feel better having someone who knows what they are doing.

If you heat up your putty knife it will go through that caulking so much better on the roof of that camper
It sure seems like you’re moving fast to upgrade your Chinook. You are really moving! I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product.
When you mess with calking use your hair dryer or heat gun when it's cold. Very nice job
Just keep heatgun away from Windows. A company re caulking around my vent left it going as they climbed down the ladder. Window wears the proof😢
Great work Jalena 👏 looking forward to the next video 🇦🇺🐨🦘
You could see if jackery or bluetti will sponsor you so you can have a power pack as a backup
👍 Looking good, nice work. Good choice on the Proflex sealant.
you and baby Isaac work well together. That chemistry is authentic.
Baby Isaac? 🤔
Who is baby Isaac?
Looking good! You both got a lot of work done. Nice! 😊
Caulking those windows on the outside edge will not seal them. The proper way is to remove the window and reseal with butyl tape.
Yeah!!! Great progress!!
Love my heated vest excited for your new van

Heat gun for the glue around the vent
You do good work ❤❤
You are such an inspiration! I want to do the same but I am so scared that I won't be able to do this.
Off topic, but your bangs look really great on you!
I absolutely love to watch you work!!
