@poker600 decide what you're going to do on the river before you call the turn. Its very important to look ahead and plan out the future streets before they happen in spots like this. Your other option is to.....RAISE!
When we raise 3/4 of the pot, mentioned near the end of the video are we assuming we raised preflop and c-betted the flop? Do we assume this for everything mentioned in this video?
These days you can get a bit more info based on bet size and knowing ranges. For both building continuing ranges and betting ranges i really like Jonathan's approach at PC. I've started making videos for pokercoaching premium, check out pokercoaching.org if you'd like to get a 3 day free pass!!!
hi can I ask a question, how will i know more if the player is a weaktight opponent or a mediocre opponent. because most of the time we cannot see each others cards. thank you
Keep watching for showdowns, or keep seeing if they fold to big bets on later streets over and over. eventually the picture will become clear. btw, I've started making videos for pokercoaching premium, check out pokercoaching.org if you'd like to get a 3 day free pass!!!

at 9.20 you start to talk about not betting the scare card, but what if i see right through him, and i have like a pair of 8s on a q83 board, and the K comes and he keeps betting, should i call or? hate those spots, espessially if i call and he leads out on the river on a total brick. what to do?
No, If you bet the pot the villain gets 2 to 1. Eg Pot $10, pot size bet $10, therefore pot is now $20 and the villain must call $10. Therefore 2 to 1. Get your facts straight
I know the villain gets 2 to 1 to call a pot sized be, but that does not mean hero makes a profit if he gets a fold that often. Bet 1 into a pot of 1, and you need 50% folds for an instant profit, despite the villan geting 2 to 1 to call.
Nope, so you just play their cards and you'll be just fine! btw, if you wanna get deeper into studying, I've started making videos for pokercoaching premium, check out pokercoaching.org if you'd like to get a 3 day free pass!!!
You say that if you bet less than the size of the pot you show a profit if they fold 1 out of 3 times. This is not true. 1 out of 3 is the odds they get to call a pot sized bet, but you would need them to fold 50% of the time to break even if you bet pot. If you bet half pot then you break even at 1 out of 3, or 2 to 1. This of course is not counting any equity we have vs a call.
exactly, mediocre hands are marginal. You got it! btw, I've started making videos for pokercoaching premium, check out pokercoaching.org if you'd like to get a 3 day free pass!!!
I get really confused with what is strong. I bet at top pair and v good kicker and get beat by 2pair on turn. Last night, I raised pre flop with 10 10. Flop came 666. Flop was checked, turn was brick, I bet my full house, got called. Bet river which was Jack, got called by a guy holding 6 8 off suit. Why did he call a large pre flop raise with that? I just keep getting caught like this.
rafer Jefferson iii You have three options IMHO, either don't put any money in or, check the flop, then raise the turn. Don't put anymore money in against any agression, or bet the flop and don't put any more money in if you get called.
@@phillipholmes5206 this was 4 years ago but the guy just called. He had the nuts. The guy couldn’t play. Calling large bet pre flop with 6 8 off in a cash game. Just calling at turn and river with the absolute nuts. This is why I gave up playing. I understand the game reasonably well and can see when people don’t know what they’re doing. Just got tired of people who can’t play poker cleaning me out. I know it evens out eventually but it didn’t seem to for a long time, so gave up. Also, these things can tilt you so you don’t have any confidence. Then after this, if a maniac comes in, you just fold everything because you’re certain he’s getting massive hands every time.

That’s called getting very unlucky.
