I think that maybe the secretary could have went, by mr. Gu's order, to find out what Dr. thinks of Mr. Gu and secretary relayed the Dr.'s denial about him - that she didn't like him. And that moment flashed back for him. Thinking that "as long as she's safe that's what matters; it's no use to explained what happened because she isn't interested in me anyways"??
@@binaldoshi495 I did watch the drama. Twice. Here I was just trying to explain WHY things happened why they did. I was “reading between the lines” by filling in the gaps to explain the likely possibility of why things ended up the way this scene ended.

She says no and that she was trying to get him to understand the hospital and people better but her body language suggests that she is realising that she does like him.
