I recently got into an injury so I want to gradually get back on my bike. This will work wonders for me as I begin to recover. Thanks for this video!!

Hello. Same here - ribs and shoulder. I want to build this; Does it work for 29 inch mtb?
Glad you liked it. Please like and subscribe. For your bike you will need to make the boards longer and taller. Same style but scale up your measurements
Wow, this "bike trainer" video is a great find! I really appreciate the creator's detailed demonstration and explanation of how to use a bike trainer properly. As an ebike user, I'm always on the lookout for new and innovative products. Speaking of which, I recently came across a new crowdfunding project for the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. This bike seems absolutely amazing! One of its outstanding features is the ability to be charged when in indoor mode. It's truly mind-blowing how this e-bike combines indoor fitness and outdoor exploration. I can't wait to see this project come to life! Keep up the great work, guys!
My kid has autism and this can help him train how to pedal stationary before i teach him how to pedal while moving. thanks so much for this tutorial. I appreciate it.
You’re welcome. Glad it was helpful. That’s an amazing application. Hope he has fun. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Great video, thank you. This is one of the best designs I've seen. What type of odometer would you suggest?
Thank. Glad you enjoyed. Please like and subscribe. As for an odometer, I’m not sure as I’ve never used one.
I’m going to try this for my unicycle
Please do it. If your balance is good I think it’s actually doable. Plus it would be funny to watch. Hope you enjoyed the video. Please like and subscribe

Wow great effort! I was looking for some diy to recycle my son's bicycle 🚲 and yeah! came across your video!!! Definitely gonna work on it!!! 6:12
Excellent. I only did this to make use of the bike in winter storage months. But definitely Good way to recycle a bike. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Very good and creative work, and very simple. I'd just add that bike seat should be adjusted for your height/ length of your legs (and the viewer's each their own). You don't want to hurt your knees. Go!
Yes that’s very true. The only reason I kept it so low is because it’s my wife’s bike. But I see what you’re saying. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
can you please tell us the dimensions of each wooden board , for the perimeter box and the two vertical pieces . thnk you :)

Hi, great vid. About to make one & thought I'd look online first. I'll use your template. Cheers Bill. Next will be a bike repair stand. Maybe you have a tutorial on that aswell, will have a look. 👍👍
Unfortunately I don’t have a video on that. I’m glad you found this one helpful though. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
No probs have done so. You know what? I made mine this morning, the trainer works great also for keeping the bike stable and elevated to carry out maintenance also. You cracked it m8. 💯🤘👍
Awesome. I’m glad that it worked out for you. Cheers.

What should I use to get resistance?
That would be the difficult part, I was thinking some sort of generator motor and a variable switch so you can apply different load.
Or friction using a caliper and rotor with a fixed lever. That wouldn't be accurate over time, but it seems cheaper
Music was like I was watching Charlie Chaplin show, building suspense :)))))

Regarding resistance, wouldn`t a 10 speed have 10 gears of resistance ?
Yes it would.
Is this excercise effective since there’s no resistance or any strength needed
Yes. It won’t get your thighs blasted and ready for the Olympics but even light cycling is still exercise. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Hola, me pueden decir cómo se llama el objeto que le pone a la bicicleta para que se pueda apoyar en la base, gracias 🙏 😊
They are call bicycle pegs. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Thats amazing. I suggest you to add any roll for the load
Yes I’ve seen people put rolling pins for resistance. If you like more resistance then you can go that route. Thanks for watching. Stay safe and please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 i agree with you, but coz today is still in pandemic, more secured to use static bike
Can plated hex bolts be replaced or used?

My Schwinn has quick release wheels… doesn’t have a standard “axle”. Seems like I may not be able to add pegs without installed, threaded axle. Bummer… awesome video though.
Ya. Definitely need a traditional axle. Thanks though for watching. Please feel free to still like and subscribe

Not to take away from your work dude, but you can buy foldable factory made stands with adjustable magnetic resistance for the back tire, and a stand for the front wheel included for like 60 euros, probably for less if you find it used.
But if you want to make something like this and can make it for free, maybe somehow add a weight to one part of the back wheel (secure it so it has absolutely no chance to fly off and kill someone) so you aren't just spinning a light bicycle wheel through thin air, because that won't get you far fitness wise, help you build muscle or lose a lot of weight.
Thanks for the tip. You know bikes have brakes right? I just lightly press the brakes to add small amount of resistance. Fold up units like you referred to here in Canada cost about $250. This cost $44 and works just fine for myself and many viewers.
Awesome!
thanks. please share, like, and subscribe

I'm recovering from an ankle injury and I need to do this! Curious what would the dimensions be for an MTB with 29er wheels?
I would say 19 inch should do you good. The way I found my measurements was to stand the bike straight up and measure from the floor to the bolt that holds the wheel. Then add 4 inches to that measurement for elevation. Hopefully this helps you. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe. And if you want an easier and cheaper way to make this, here is an improved version I made recently: ruclips.net/video/rteIk7nsp9M/видео.html

Интересно, а как размер для своего велосипеда узнать?
Measure it🤪
wouldn't this had zero resistance?
That is correct
As always make sure you have proper PPE. Lounge pants and flip flops
My apologies for not wearing my steel toe boots just in case that massive 2 pound piece of wood crushes my foot. Or my jeans with leather chaps to prevent that razor sharp saw dust from cutting me. Lol. If you can find a way to cause bodily harm in the process of making this bike stand then you need to re learn how to properly use power tools. Thanks for watching. And be careful with your light labor🤣🤣🤣
Ps give those safety glasses and face shield a good cleaning and you will see those are slippers with padded top. Not flip flops. ✌️
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 was joking lol
Ok cool. Hard to sense tone in text. You never know with some people. Well thanks again for watching. And please like and subscribe. The lounge pants made another debut in tonight’s video.

will it hold a lot of weight?
80-100kg ?
Yes it will hold that weight perfectly. When I built this I was 98kg. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
Ok thankyou so much 👍
You’re welcome.
What should i use for a bike with 700×38c
Go with the same design. You may have to make a taller upright post tho and longer boards front to back. For the uprights, measure from the bolt to the ground then add about 3 inches. Then measure the tire at its longest point and add about 2 inches for the side boards.
tq tq tq x 1000 sorry i copied yours for my bike, wonderful idea

Sorry Bill, board is 8' but what can't understand the height . Thanks
What is it about the height that you don’t understand?
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 sorry for my bad english, board is 8' but how much is height measurement?
Cool, but I think its too easy to pedal. There is no any resistans except air in this model.😊

@@BillOfAllTrades2016 how do you go about adding resistance? Beyond just using the brake lever lol.
Resistance?
Doesn’t have any
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 Needs some
So put some on yours then. Mine doesn’t need it.

just use jack stands
That is actually a genius idea. I never thought of that. And I actually have jack stands lol. You would have to put carpet under so they don’t slide around.
I screwed a good piece of plywood to the entire bottom and it resulted in a super solid unit.

Yeah done mines had to make a slight adjusted as got a ebike don't laugh got a injury at moment so this was idea to build and it works well so be trying this for a while what do u recommend for resistance measures to put in ?
If you drill two holes in the side of the wood frame on each side the install some heavy duty rolling pins to the frame so the bike tire will sit on the pins, that should give you resistance. Thanks for watching. Hope this works. Please like and subscribe
You could add a roller to the base for extra resistance.
I’m going try this if it works out I’ll make one with metal square tubing.
Ya. This is just a no resistance bike stand. I have seen people put a couple rolling pins under the wheels but I was going for a super budget model. Thanks for watching. Let us know how your build goes. Please like and subscribe
