I just built a castle for my daughter’s bed too - by draping some blankets off the side and told her to use her imagination. Let’s hope she never sees this video.
I watched both of the bed construction videos that you made for your kids, and it reminds me of the time I asked my parents for something like this when I was a kid. They didn't do it, and I got too old. But having seen this, I hope to be a good father one day and do something similar like this for my kids.

To be honest, neither. But it was more fun. There's a whole genre of hacked Kura beds - it's a challenge to come up with a new approach to modifying one and to think of creative ways to use the spare parts (e.g. bed slats made into the doors).

The video looks like you put a lot of work and time into the planning even before one screw. Is there a place where you have the blue prints? I'd love to do something like this for my son.
Glad you liked it! I'm sorry, but I don't have any blueprints. The 3D Sketchup model in the video is all I have for this bed. Otherwise, just designed, measured, and built as I went.
The secret passage would be good if say they were unsafe that someone was in the house and didn’t have time to get to there parents and the could just keep the door shut and hide in there
STOP STOP! DONT USE THE 12V LED LIGHTS ! Get her something that wont flicker ! Leds flicker allot and in a closed space like this your Kid will feel groggy and bad ! Please dont !
